Chapter 2217: Master anger |
"...This time I will cut through the middle of your forehead... try stopping me." Robin spoke weakly, his voice calm and slow despite the madness surrounding them, as though he were discussing something trivial rather than threatening the life of a being capable of destroying universes.
"Wha--?!"
The dark-skinned executioner tried speaking through her damaged throat. Robin’s words were unbearably humiliating and heavy upon her pride!
Then—
Doooom
The Scale tilted once again, and one of the crystals Robin had been tossing into the air vanished.
Robin, whose power had fully recovered once more, pointed toward her and repeated his words while glowing inscriptions spread wildly across his body like burning veins:
But he stopped midway through the technique.
The target was no longer before his eyes.
The executioner moved at terrifying speed toward the side in an irregular path, her figure twisting through the void like a phantom impossible to lock onto. Then she raised her hand toward her throat and passed it across the wound for a moment, causing the blood to disappear as the injury healed instantly.
"Fourth Stage of Space-Time?!"
For the first time since her appearance, the executioner raised her voice with genuine alarm.
"You possess the Fourth Stage of another Master Law as well?!"
For the first time, she truly took Robin’s threat about taking half her life seriously.
Ever since the symbols appeared, she already knew Robin possessed knowledge of four additional Master Laws, but how had his understanding reached such a monstrous level?
And simultaneously, his understanding of Truth had reached a level where he could even lend its authority to a soul creature?!
This was not something a human should ever be capable of reaching!
Then she raised her voice furiously.
"Was it not enough for that filthy cheating fraud to find tricks and hand you techniques and keys to four Master Laws? He granted you advanced stages of them as well?!"
"....?!"
A bell rang violently inside Robin’s mind the instant he heard those words.
His pupils shrank slightly.
Immediately, he began looking around frantically, attempting to locate the executioner moving at impossible speed while simultaneously trying to process what he had just heard.
"Are you talking about the All-Seeing god?"
"This universe can no longer be measured and should never remain part of the system!" The executioner sharply curved toward Robin while raising her mace. "Today I will kill you personally, and when the brigade arrives, they will not stop at mere punishments. This universe entire existence will be erased from this cycle completely, and I will personally make certain of it!"
"A...?"
Robin unconsciously stepped backward.
The determination and momentum he had gathered for battle suddenly began fading away while his mind desperately tried piecing together the enormous amount of information he had just heard.
The All-Seeing god.
Cheating.
Keys to Master Laws.
The system.
Cycles.
For a brief moment, his thoughts spiraled uncontrollably.
And for the first time since the battle began...
He looked shaken.
For a moment, it almost seemed as though he had mentally detached from the battlefield itself!
"Hmph!"
The executioner revealed a small smile after seeing that scene, then thrust her mace forward while advancing toward Robin.
Hooom
The aura radiating from the tyrannical mace could be compared to the aura of Seventh-Degree Displacement Equipment, but unlike displacement equipment, this spear-headed mace existed solely for killing.
Pure destruction.
Pure execution.
Shoo
Something resembling an arrow emerged from the spearhead, and immediately merged completely with the surrounding void as it traveled directly toward Robin’s head.
The arrow did not distort space.
It became part of it.
Invisible. Silent. And absolute.
The moment it touched him, his head would be erased completely.
There will be no blood, no remains, not even parts of a soul domain.
And for Robin, who currently appeared frozen in shock... this strike was enough to kill him instantly!
Even distant observers felt their hearts tighten.
Morgana’s face turned pale.
Blokan’s eyes widened.
Althera instinctively moved forward before stopping herself.
The attack was simply too fast.
Too absolute.
But—
Eeeeek
The pupil of the gigantic golden eye moved.
It turned toward the executioner.
"....?!"
The dark-skinned executioner instinctively slowed down.
That gaze...
That gaze felt as though it were staring directly at her very existence itself!
It felt as though every secret she possessed had suddenly become exposed beneath that eye.
Feeling ashamed that a mere human had managed to threaten her to this extent, her expression twisted into hatred and fury.
Yet a smile soon appeared upon her face.
The arrow was moments away from arriving.
The battle was over.
At that exact moment, the gigantic eye sent golden ribbons toward the Gear of Causality.
Krrrrr
The Gear of Causality began rotating until it reached the broken tooth and stopped with a heavy impact.
Then three threads emerged from it.
Dooom
The instant the Scale received its thread, it automatically sacrificed one of the crystals from Robin’s hand and transformed it into a sphere of pure energy floating beside him.
Taam
The lattice cube trembled violently and shifted Robin forward by an incredibly tiny movement.
Barely enough to matter.
Barely enough to notice.
Yet under the coordination of the five symbols, that tiny displacement instantly became meaningful.
Hooom
The Ouroboros Ring glowed brightly and used the sphere of energy to create something resembling a mirror in the location where Robin had been standing.
A strange shattered mirror.
Fragments layered over fragments.
Reality itself seemed cracked within its reflection.
Then the mirror tilted at a specific angle.
"What?!"
The dark-skinned executioner shouted in shock.
Everything had happened at horrifying speed.
The symbols had cooperated automatically.
No hesitation. No commands.
As though they themselves understood battle better than their owner.
The Master Laws are cooperating automatically? Was such a thing even possible to begin with?!
The dark-skinned executioner’s expression finally cracked completely.
Not because Robin blocked the attack. .
But because what she had just witnessed violated common sense itself.
Hoooo
The Void Rift arrow finally arrived to tear Robin’s head apart... but instead it found something else waiting for it.
Kashoooh
The arrow slammed into the strange golden mirror and shattered into ten separate fragments, each fragment violently deflecting in a different direction.
The shattered mirror itself instantly cracked further afterward before collapsing into golden dust.
Yet the attack had already been redirected.
"..?!"
The dark-skinned executioner stood frozen, watching the scattered fragments with shock and disbelief.
For a brief instant, she even forgot to breathe.
But her shock rapidly deepened further.
"No...."
Soon she finally understood the role of the Gear of Causality in the entire sequence.
Shoo Shoo Shoo
The ten fragments struck the foreheads of ten adult space beasts.
The beasts were not even given the chance to scream.
They never understood what had happened.
Their eyes dimmed instantly, the energy circulating inside their bodies stopped completely... their soul domains had been pierced with horrifying precision.
One by one, the gigantic beasts drifted lifelessly through the void.
Even nearby beasts became visibly disturbed by the sudden deaths.
"Haha, thank you for the pass, owner!!"
Arkalon immediately felt tremendous pressure lifting from his shoulders after the deaths of the ten adult space beasts, and his mind had already begun devising methods to make use of their corpses.
Several arrays immediately began appearing around him once more.
Meanwhile, the executioner remained staring toward Robin.
No...
Toward the five symbols surrounding him.
The cooperation between those laws had gone beyond merely strange.
It almost looked alive.
As for Robin...
He did not look toward the executioner.
Nor did he respond to Arkalon.
Instead, he remained standing there... muttering to himself.
"You threatened me... you made your intentions crystal clear..."
His voice sounded distant.
Heavy.
Then he clenched his teeth violently.
"You told me that you would throw me into an eternal hell the moment we were forced to meet before the two missions were completed."
Then a weary smile appeared upon his face.
"As some blind little candidate, I went to enlarge Niahari and wage war against The Syndicate for your sake... things I am beginning to realize are utterly insignificant and shallow compared to what you know. I took your threats seriously and your games as though they were divine commands... but..."
The golden eye above him trembled faintly.
The surrounding symbols slowed down.
Then Robin suddenly raised his head and shouted furiously:
"What the hell is actually happening here?!"
The roar exploded across the battlefield.
Even the nearby beasts paused briefly.
A massive braid of Robin’s soul force suddenly began twisting and intertwining around a specific point inside his soul domain until it formed something resembling a gigantic hammer.
The hammer itself looked unstable.
Violent.
Like condensed rage given shape.
"You would throw me into eternal hell? After everything I witnessed today..."
His eyes filled with fury.
Not toward the executioner.
Toward something else.
Something far away.
Something older.
"I want to see how exactly you intend to discard me now!"
Then he raised the hammer upward.
"After everything I heard today... even if you truly throw me into hell afterward, I want my answers first!!"
THAAAAAM
The hammer crashed down upon the All-Seeing god’s soul fragment, sending enormous waves throughout the entire soul domain.
The impact sounded less like a collision...
And more like the ringing of a gigantic bell.
DOOOOOOOOM
Golden cracks spread throughout the surrounding soul domain.
