Chapter 35: The Ultimate PUA Artifact |
"You... you wish!"
Even a simple Fireball spell could be wielded to such terrifying effect by the man before him. If those high-level spells fell into this person's hands, Evelos truly couldn't imagine what calamities would befall the Destiny Army.
Dozens of ice dragons rampaging through their ranks?
So even as he was beaten black and blue, he refused to talk.
A nearby interrogator said with frustration, "Young Master Jonas, I've failed! I've exhausted every method at my disposal. This man's on death's door, yet I still can't pry open his mouth. Damn native's got jaws of steel."
Jonas pinched his nose and waved dismissively. "Leave. I'll handle this."
Seeing the young master's expression, the jailer hesitated. "But young master, this..."
Interrogation was his specialty - he'd broken countless prisoners. If even he couldn't make the man talk, what method could the young master possibly employ?
Jonas repeated firmly, "Leave. And tell the maid outside to bring in the items."
Exiting the cell, the jailer saw the young woman holding an enormous basin and couldn't help his confusion. What was this? Some new interrogation tool?
...
Evelos glared at the impeccably dressed Jonas and sneered, "Noble mutt! Though I'm no match for you, don't think you'll make me talk. The flames of Destiny's uprising cannot be extinguished. You'll all perish in Destiny's rise to power!"
Jonas ignored his rant. Instead, he asked quietly, "You fear nothing?"
"Under Destiny's blazing light, what have I to fear? I—"
"Then imagine countless millipedes crawling over your wounds, licking your exposed flesh." Jonas smiled faintly, cutting him off mid-sentence.
His system displayed not only the enemy's stats but also their preferences and deepest fears - explained as tools to better manipulate loyalty. The ultimate PUA artifact, truly.
And according to the system, Evelos' greatest terror was insects (millipedes specifically).
Jonas' words struck Evelos dumb. "You... what are you—"
The door creaked open as the maid entered, carrying a massive basin teeming with writhing millipedes, their countless legs tangled in a squirming mass.
The horrific sight instantly raised goosebumps across Evelos' skin. His voice failed him entirely.
"What— what are you— NO! KEEP THOSE DAMNED THINGS AWAY! NO! AHH—"
...
Outside, the jailer heard Evelos' bloodcurdling screams - the unmistakable sound of complete psychological collapse from his years of interrogation experience.
He stood frozen.
"Huh?"
After hours of failed interrogation where the prisoner only cursed him as a "noble dog," young master Jonas breaks him in seconds?
The sheer terror in those screams suggested the man was facing his worst nightmare. The jailer couldn't suppress a shudder.
"The young master's terrifying! Better offend anyone but him in the future!"
