Chapter 186: Slaughtered

Zhou Chen drove the jeep and used the navigation function of the communicator to locate Li Guofu.

But even so, it took him more than half a day before he found Li Guofu in a ruined city.

The two of them met in a dry and abandoned sewer.

Li Guofu sat with his back against the sewer pipe, looking unwell.

He had bandaged his body, and the mutation on his left arm had extended to his chest again. The blood vessels in his eyes were even more obvious than before.

"Can you walk?" Zhou Chen asked with concern.

"Barely… where's the jeep?" Li Guo Fu smiled with difficulty at Zhou Chen and slowly stood up.

"It is parked outside." Zhou Chen pointed at the sewer exit.

"Then let's hurry over."

"Where are the pursuers? Why do I sense no one around?" Zhou Chen asked while walking out. He had come prepared for a battle, but he did not see any enemy.

"I've shaken them off for now." Li Guofu immediately replied. "But there are good trackers among them. They will probably catch up soon. When the time comes, help me intercept them."

"Alright." Zhou Chen had nothing to say about this. He had come here for this, after all.

Soon, the two of them walked out of the sewer and returned to the ground. Zhou Chen drove while Li Guofu sat in the front passenger seat.

"How many people are chasing you?" Although he had yet to see the enemy's shadow, Zhou Chen still wanted to understand the situation.

"I don't know the exact number. I've killed more than ten pursuers along the way, but they have been sending reinforcements. I guess that there are at least ten people chasing after me. There must be an expert tracker among them. I've used many methods to hide my traces, but they found me again and again. There's also a mutant that is not right in the head. He seems unkillable. Try not to tangle with him," Li Guofu said with his eyes closed.

Bang! Bang!

Just as Li Guofu finished speaking, Zhou Chen felt the jeep tilt to the side and begin to slide.

"Someone blew up the tires." Zhou Chen immediately judged.

"Yes, they have caught up again. They want to capture me alive, that's why they are doing this." Li Guofu opened his eyes.

"I can sense their location." At this moment, Zhou Chen realized that a few strangers had appeared in several locations more than 200 meters away through the Bloodthirst passive skill.

"I'll deal with them. Hurry up and drive back."

"Sorry to trouble you. You must be careful." Li Guofu did not stand on ceremony. He was in a bad state and needed to be treated quickly, so Zhou Chen had to cover for him.

"Don't worry, these few enemies are not even enough as a warm up."

Zhou Chen stopped the jeep and quickly opened the door to rush out.

Li Guofu moved to the driver's seat and began to drive the punctured jeep.

Zhou Chen quickly moved in this abandoned city and charged towards a target that he sensed through the Bloodthirst.

It was an ordinary human. He was moving quickly in a building, and the bullets that had punctured the jeep tires had come from his direction.

After charging about 50 meters in that direction, Zhou Chen suddenly punched, making the invisible Eight Desolates True Energy turn into a fist that smashed into that place.

In the blink of an eye, the building exploded, as if a bomb had detonated, leaving only a large amount of dust and debris on the ground.

"One down."

After confirming that the vital signs of the target were gone, Zhou Chen knew that the person had been smashed along with the building.

He then ran to the next target. This target seemed to be a human as well, but Zhou Chen suddenly activated the Eight Desolates True Energy to protect his body, forcibly deflecting a bullet that was aimed at him.

He looked at the bullet that was bouncing on the ground and realized that its shape was different from what he had seen when he trained with Lucy. It should be a special bullet.

"You dare to attack me? Looks like I have to kill you first."

Zhou Chen had originally wanted to kill someone else first, but now that this person had attacked him, he had to pay the price.

He changed his direction again and charged towards this attacker.

During this short period, he realized through his Bloodthirst perception that this person had begun to retreat rapidly, as if he knew that he had aroused Zhou Chen's killing intent.

"Can you escape?"

Zhou Chen only sneered. He could tell through his perception that this person was only an ordinary person. How could he escape from his grasp?

A second later, Zhou Chen punched forward again. The invisible Eight Desolates True Energy pierced through more than a hundred meters of air and through two concrete walls, blowing the person who was trying to escape into pieces.

"This way of fighting is a little boring."

After killing another enemy, Zhou Chen did not feel much joy in his heart because the enemy was too weak. He just punched from afar and killed the guy; he got no feeling of killing someone, making him feel like he was playing a game.

However, this thought only lasted for a moment. Zhou Chen continued to hunt the other enemies efficiently.

During this process, he also suffered some counterattacks. Most of it were bullets while two were warheads.

However, this was useless. Not to mention whether these things could injure Zhou Chen's powerful body, just the Eight Desolates True Energy alone was enough to block them.

Zhou Chen even ignored a warhead that hit the ground a few meters away and relied on the Eight Desolates True Energy to block its explosion. He punched the attacker from afar, making the latter explode into pieces.

Then, Zhou Chen walked out of the thick smoke without any injury.

"The game is over. It's time to contact Li Guofu."

Zhou Chen sensed that he had killed all the enemies he had sensed at the beginning. He reached into his pocket to take out the communicator.

However, he quickly retracted his hand.

"Another enemy? The Bloodthirst perception seems to indicate that he is not an ordinary person."

Zhou Chen found a special target running towards him at high speed.

"It should be the mutant tracker from Nete Tech. Now this might be fun."

Since the person was so brave and fearless, Zhou Chen naturally would not avoid him.. He turned and walked towards the enemy.

If the fighting is boring it means you’re not having fun. Fun in definition varies from people to people. Common example is, Cat playing with a mouse.

Cats usually play with mouse because it knows that it can easily overpower the mouse. That’s why we usually see them playing the mouse to death.

It enjoys the process of making the mouse run and hide while it pursues and hunts it slowly while causing despair to the mouse and then finally letting the mouse slowly slip away in the embrace of darkness which it’ll never wake up from.

Exactly how I feel about games that are so easy you couldn't possibly fail.

I get that that's what some people want to play and that's fine, but when these gamers with poor skills and intellect cry about difficulty levels they arent capable of handling and demand devs remove everything that makes the game fun for everyone else...I can't help but think about how much closer we are to the reality of the movie Idiocracy than many people think.

If a game gives you a puzzle of matching shapes and you find the experience enjoyable....you should really stop and reconsider what you're doing with your life.

Bruh last part was a bit unnecessary. And children wouldn't agree with you

The comment was already long enough. Qualifying each statement to perfection is just overkill. But since you brought it up:

The criticisms in my comment were addressed to people who have the ability to choose whether to improve their skills, knowledge and/or intellect but choose not to.

Those who have no choice in the matter, like children under a certain age, people born with or develop neurological issues that directly impact their ability to learn or perform, or those without the resources for or freedom to self-improve are obviously exempt.

And the last part was totally necessary. Some games for casual gamers quite literally have "put the right shape into the right hole" challenges, and other such equivalents.

Why is it necessary to point it out? Ask anyone with distinctly above-average intelligence who has put a lot of thought into world problems. One of the top solutions to the majority of problems is to increase our general level of intellect, and that'll never happen when people are given not just easy options to chose stupidity but are given permission and positive reinforcement for it.

Uh I won't argue with you about that but I would like to point out a few things:

1)The "Problem" of cassual games began when games became widespread media. Before that they were played by only "no casuals" by today's standards. Most casual gamers nowadays are pp that never touched computer games before so you can't expect them all to be fine with hardcore mechanics. + Most of them just don't have enough time to commit to self-improvement.

2)The choice to improve is literally elevator problem. If you live on 3rd floor you can comfortably choose to use stairs instead but if you live on 10th or 20th etc you are probably not.

          3) increase in general level of intellect... Well it has some downsides to: like more elaborate pyramid/ponzi schemes. :)

You don't have to play casual games if you don't like them, play another game. And about easy challenges play Elden Ring it's quite easy you just have to move and kill some enemies 😇

I'm not talking about ALL casual games and gamers. I'm talking about games dumbed down to the level of young children, played and enjoyed by adults.

I lived on a 20th floor apartment for a few years. I regularly used the stairs when the elevators were busy, or when I had time to do spend on the exercise.

Above a certain level of intellect you are literally immune to many scams, especially pyramids scams.

You're bringing up points I've already covered. You seem to be quite lacking in the brain department. There isn't much point arguing with you.

If you ever get the chance to talk to people with distinctly above average intellect, ask them what they think of this and follow their wisdom instead of trying to think it out yourself since you can't. If you're too dumb to even follow the wisdom of the wise...well there's no saving you.

Not gonna lie I have enough intellect to understand that you are just a huge green internet troll. If not then you are just a dillusional person that thinks he knows more than others.

With all your intellect I don't see any prof of anything you are saying. Game that, game this is all you write.

And yes it has been proven that high IQ != Wisdom

Games are played by different people with different characters. Some like difficulty while others like to be laid back and chilling. So it’s stupid to compare games with intellect of people.

But, I do agree with you on some points tho.
