Chapter 5295: Anomaly II |
Then the second aura came.
Where THE Relictus’s descent had been measured and composed, the second arrival came with the energy of something that had been in the middle of a very different activity and had been pulled away from it by a call it couldn’t refuse.
Obsidian flames cleared across a descending form, the fire burning away the traces of whatever the prior battle had demanded as the being transitioned from what the adversity had required of them back toward the form they moved through calmer circumstances in.
The flames died.
A titan stood in the sky above THE Early Veiled Shore wreathed in the obsidian flames of THE Primordial Source.
His titanic humanoid form was carrying the development of every adversity he had moved through, the obsidian crowns above his head burning with their own internal light, the four horns and the nine tails and the full breadth of what Exelissomai’s repeated usage across eons had produced present in every dimension of his bearing.
His obsidian eyes found Noah.
He looked at the blade in Noah’s hand. He looked at the nine Prime Cause lights burning through the Osmontian Infinite Physique. He looked at the obsidian sea churning above them both, at THE Infiniverse’s Early Veiled Shore trembling beneath the Environmental Pressure of what was building.
He was astonished.
THE Creature looked at him.
"I was in the middle of adversity," he said. Each word carrying the ancient measured weight that his voice always carried.
"Now I am simply in a different adversity. That is not a new condition for me." He paused.
"But this...THE Youngest grasping THE Primordial Tongue, us standing here together... existence continues to be unpredictable in the directions that matter."
His obsidian eyes moved across THE Infiniverse’s Early Veiled Shore, across the nine Prime Cause regions visible in the distance, across the golden sands trembling beneath the building pressure of what Prime Exelissomai was preparing.
Then his expression changed.
"I sensed something of Observable Existence. What happened?"
...!
Taylor looked up from the golden sands below with a somber expression that sat differently on her face than her usual rapid-eyed calculating energy.
Noah looked at THE Creature.
"The Gilded Ones effectively nuked Observable Existence," he said. "Nothing that was not contained in my home survived. All lifeforms have been turned into Existential Acedia Dredges. No cognizance. No will. Countleds of them."
HUUM!
The obsidian flames around THE Creature burned brighter.
His expression was heavy! He nodded slowly.
"I have existed across more eons than I can account for in any framework that would make the number meaningful," he said. "In all of those eons, I never truly hated anything. Hatred felt like a condition that required more investment than anything in existence warranted."
The flames burned.
"THE Gilded Ones managed to teach me how deeply one can hate. Everybody makes choices. It is uniquely instructive how some can make all the wrong ones across all the time they are given." His eyes found Noah’s.
"I will channel this hatred to ensure that beings who continue to make these choices are erased from existence. Fully. Completely."
BOOM!
The words settled in the air between them with the weight of a promise from a being who had never made promises he didn’t keep!
Before Noah could reply, a cold gaze found them both from the left.
"If you ladyboys are finished with your little talk session..."
Calypso looked at them with the flat ancient awareness of something that had answered the call of THE Primordial Tongue’s Prime Letter and had very specific intentions for the opportunity it represented.
"How about we get started? Being involved in the utterance of a Prime Letter is not something I expected today. I will thoroughly go all out for this."
Her obsidian eyes moved to THE Creature. "Do not go easy just because you all know each other. This is an opportunity that even those like us cannot let pass by."
WAA!
