Chapter 132: Trip It!

"Swish!"

The patterns on the Demon Blade lit up with a blood-red glow, making it stand out like a giant firefly in the dark, chaotic room.

The skeletal corpses, barely standing and writhing in agony, had their eyes drawn to the light, but their ability to focus was hindered by the intense flash and shock they had just endured. All they could see was a blurry, split image.

Seize the moment, strike the blow! This had been Guan Shan's motto since he got the simulator.

He sprinted to one of the undead corpses, pinning it against the wall with his foot, and drove his blade into its eye socket!

These corpses were in a mummified state, with shriveled eyes still in their sockets.

"Squish!"

As Guan Shan stabbed, it felt like piercing a thick-skinned, deflated balloon, then pushing into something akin to a wooden floor. The blade's sensation changed from soft, watery to hard as it penetrated the varying layers.

Though the watery part was nearly non-existent.

"Uh... hurgh..."

The corpse struggled, extending a hand. The arm, covered in greenish skin and purple nails, was filled with white mold similar to what had grown where the blood water had touched. It tried to scratch at Guan Shan's leg.

Guan Shan twisted the blade, effectively turning the corpse into a juicer.

The corpse finally ceased to move. The other three, however, began to regain their senses, their lifeless eyes filling with a crazed light.

Guan Shan was about to step forward when one of the corpses suddenly fell to the ground, let out a strange cry, and started to grow.

Initially human-sized, it expanded until it occupied nearly half the room's volume. Its growth was limited only by the room's height, but that didn't stop it from slamming a massive hand and snapping its jaws at Guan Shan.

"Dammit!"

Guan Shan cursed as his Demon Blade suddenly felt like a toothpick. The overwhelming presence of the giant corpse in the confined space made cold sweat run down his back.

He rolled to the side to avoid the massive hand, which slammed into the wall, and took the opportunity to slash at the wrist with his blade!

"Slash—crack!"

The skin and flesh were cut, but the bone was only halfway severed before the blade got stuck.

The bone was too thick!

With the same hardness, an ordinary person could be sliced in half by the Demon Blade, but in this case, the first strike only went so far.

Seeing the blade stuck, Guan Shan realized he was in trouble. Sure enough, the giant corpse's head was now right in front of him. He hurriedly tried to pull the blade out.

But the corpse didn't hesitate. It pushed its wrist forward, clamping the blade between its severed bones.

"Shit!"

Guan Shan's pupils contracted. Decisive, he let go of the blade, switched to the Crowbar, and used it to block the incoming bite.

This series of actions left him no room to dodge the gaping maw.

The Crowbar managed to prevent the jaws from closing, but Guan Shan was still forced back by the impact, causing waves of blood water to splash.

"Bang!"

Guan Shan was slammed into the corner, feeling like his internal organs were about to be shaken loose. -1200! His health dropped by a sixth.

Guan Shan gritted his teeth, struggling to hold the Crowbar, preventing the giant corpse's jaws from closing. "I miscalculated... forgot that these monsters are actually Espers."

In this trap, there were not only ordinary people but also Espers! Even aged, they were still Espers.

Their physical functions may have declined, and their abilities weakened, but their powers remained. At their peak, they could have been BOSSes in any instance.

This also highlighted how powerful "The Room" really was.

Just as Guan Shan thought of this, he saw, over the giant corpse's shoulder, the other two corpses. One turned into a buzzing cloud of flies, and the other had its white mold grow crazily, embedding into the blood water.

The mold seemed to trigger a massive outbreak of spores in the blood water, emerging from all corners of the room.

The fly swarm occupied half the room, biting Guan Shan's exposed skin, causing a constant "-1-1-1-1-1..." damage.

Though minimal, the frequency was high.

Coupled with the mold climbing his ankles like vines, trying to penetrate his skin, it was a hair-raising sight.

Guan Shan didn't dare to take chances. He gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his hands, and pushed the giant corpse a short distance away, rolling aside again.

He then pulled out a gray-white skull, crushed it with a forceful grip! The skull turned to dust, floating in the air, turning black and forming a shadow. The dark mass surged, boiling with horrific bubbles, and swept towards the giant skeleton.

【Ashen Skeleton】! A tool that could summon the BOSS 【Anthrax】 back to the mortal realm! Time to use magic against magic! Though only for 20 seconds, a BOSS could easily take down an elite monster in that time.

The shadow coiled around the giant skeleton like a snake, countless shadowy blades raining down, causing it to howl in pain. The giant skeleton's attempts to fight back only hurt itself.

Freed from the giant skeleton's grasp, Guan Shan switched back to the Demon Blade and ran towards the mold-controlling Esper, shouting, "Logistics team, what's the deal with these Espers?!"

The logistics team lifted their heads slightly, shouting back, "Plant control, gas transformation, and gigantism, all recorded as missing Espers for over fifty years!"

Guan Shan's eyes lit up at the keyword "plants": "Plants?! Weak to fire then!"

He raised his Glock 17, aiming at the mold-covered corpse.

"Bang!"

The incendiary round exploded on the mold, igniting a blaze that spread to the wild mold in the blood water.

The room turned into an inferno, the mold-wrapped corpse becoming a torch, screaming in agony.

"Ahhhhhh—"

Unwilling to give up, it tried to command the mold to entangle Guan Shan.

The flies caught in the fire also became fuel, turning to ash.

Under such intense flames, the fly swarm regrouped into a humanoid form, with one arm burned off, charging at Guan Shan with a contorted, pained expression.

Guan Shan suddenly shouted, raising the Demon Blade: "Trip it!"

Lin Shuman, who had remained unseen, stretched out her leg, tripping the corpse, causing it to fall with a thud, stunned.

Guan Shan broke free from the mold, took two steps forward, and decapitated the corpse!

The mold-wrapped corpse finally turned into charred bones, frozen in place, while the shadow tore apart the giant skeleton.
