Inside the conference room,
Everyone was stunned by President Chen’s announcement.
Not only was the company covering the cost of getting a driver’s license, but employees were actually allowed to take the test during work hours.
This was completely unheard of in any other company they’d worked at.
The most they’d seen elsewhere was someone applying for leave to take the test, only to have the request flat-out rejected.
But President Chen? He was offering paid time off to get a driver’s license.
Nothing stings like comparison.
“President Chen, won’t letting employees take the driving test during work hours seriously affect productivity?”
Wei Yan spoke up after a moment of thought.
Chen Mo had just raised his cup of water, but hearing Wei Yan’s words, he set it down immediately.
His gaze slowly fell on Wei Yan. This guy just couldn’t let him have a smooth meeting.
“How would it affect productivity? If one person taking a driving test disrupts the company’s operations, then that’s a management issue.”
“Even if it’s not about driving tests, if certain employees can’t come to work due to unforeseen circumstances, does that mean the company’s operations grind to a halt? Don’t we have contingency plans for these situations?”
“I understand, President Chen.”
Wei Yan nodded in shame. President Chen was absolutely right.
If only one or two people were taking the test, it wouldn’t affect the company’s operations at all.
Which meant the question he’d just asked only made him look incompetent. After all, it wasn’t hard to set up a system for this.
He could easily implement a rule: the number of people out for driving tests at any one time shouldn’t exceed a threshold that would impact operations.
As long as it was scheduled properly, there’d be no problem.
Seeing Wei Yan nod, Chen Mo withdrew his gaze and looked around at the others.
“Any other thoughts on what I just announced?”
All the department heads in the room fell silent.
Chen Mo had already made his point crystal clear. If anyone still raised doubts, wouldn’t that be admitting they couldn’t manage their teams?
Li Shen and the others were especially relieved. They had been about to bring up the same concern, but thankfully Wei Yan had beaten them to it.
They shot grateful glances at Wei Yan, silently thanking him for taking the bullet.
“Since there are no objections, I’ll move on to the final item.”
Chen Mo looked around at the quiet room and continued calmly.
“The next matter concerns employee health.”
“The Mingri Group’s morning exercise policy has been in place for a while now. From what I’ve observed, everyone has pretty much adapted to the current routine.”
“So starting tomorrow, we’re increasing the intensity. Let’s add an extra kilometer to the daily run.”
“Wei Yan, rework the running route. Make sure the new path is finalized before tomorrow morning. The lead runners will remain the same.”
“As for the Clothing Factory, Pet Park, and Gaming Club, since those sites are still under construction, morning exercises will be paused for now. Once construction is complete, we’ll reassess whether to implement the policy there.”
“As for Nanhe Coffee, since your staff are spread out across different stores and can’t train together, you’ll handle it on your own.”
Chen Mo spoke casually. Right now, all six of the core team members were stationed at the Mingri Group headquarters.
The prime examples being Wei Yan, Fang Chang, Li Shen…
Even during this very meeting, they’d been giving him a hard time.
Since they were so eager to challenge him, he figured it was time to crank up the pressure a bit.
Chen Mo glanced at their bitter smiles and gave a faint chuckle.
This increase in training intensity? Just a little reminder.
No, wait—
It wasn’t punishment.
It was a gesture of love and encouragement. After all, good health was more important than anything.
The conference room gradually quieted down again.
Everyone pulled out their phones, browsing through car models and specs.
About ten minutes later,
Chen Mo saw that most people had put their phones away. It was clear they’d already picked out their preferred vehicles.
“Looks like everyone’s made their choice. Let’s head out.”
Chen Mo stood up and walked out of the conference room, the others quickly following behind.

“Alright, you all heard what I said. Take it seriously. The sales department doesn’t keep freeloaders. Anyone who goes three months without closing a deal—pack your bags.”
In the dealership showroom,
A middle-aged woman in a business suit stood sternly before a row of neatly lined-up sales reps.
Her eyes then landed on a petite young woman.
“Xiaohui, you’ve gone a whole month without a single sale. You’d better get your act together. If you hit the three-month mark with zero performance, I won’t go easy on you.”
“Understood, Supervisor,”
Ji Xiaohui replied softly with her head down.
The woman gave her one last look, said nothing more, and turned to walk away.
“Meeting dismissed!”
As soon as the supervisor left, the once-orderly line of sales reps quickly dispersed.
“Xiaohui, since you haven’t made any sales, go stand by the entrance. Ask every customer who walks in—maybe you’ll land a deal.”
A female colleague walked over, said her piece, and left without waiting for a response.
Ji Xiaohui watched her go without saying a word.
She wasn’t wrong. If she wanted to close a deal, the entrance was her best shot.
But at this hour, there weren’t many customers visiting the dealership.
And the veteran salespeople all had their own client networks, so they rarely bothered to stand at the door during slow hours.
But she was different. She had only been working at the 4S dealership for a month.
With no connections or network to rely on, all she could do was stand at the entrance, even during these slow hours. She couldn’t afford to miss any potential customers.
She watched a few of the salespeople leave.
Ji Xiaohui walked to the entrance of the 4S dealership and quietly began her wait.
Actually, there had been someone else like her before—also new, also without any sales. Back then, there were two of them taking turns at the door. But just two days ago, that person quit, leaving only her now.
So she stood there alone, silently waiting at the dealership entrance.
She had no idea how much time had passed.
Feeling bored, Ji Xiaohui glanced outside the dealership and saw a group of people approaching from the distance, heading straight toward the 4S store.
At the front was a young man, followed by three women, and behind them were more than a dozen men.
Seeing this formation,
Ji Xiaohui couldn’t help but mutter to herself, “Are they here to cause trouble?”
It was the first time she’d ever seen a group like this come to a 4S dealership.
Still, thinking of her sales performance, she pushed down her unease. As the young man in the lead stepped into the dealership, she quickly stepped forward to greet him.
“Hello, is there anything I can help you with?”
Ji Xiaohui mustered her courage and asked.
“Buying a car,” Chen Mo said calmly, glancing at the dealership employee who had come up to him.
Upon hearing that, Ji Xiaohui’s face lit up and she quickly responded.
“May I ask what kind of car you’re looking for, sir?”
So they were here to buy a car. That was a relief.
Chen Mo didn’t answer right away. Instead, he turned to look at the group behind him.
“You all go first.”
