Chapter 384

"Wow, this is truly amazing…"

It really is breathtaking.

A building that looks just like a castle stands perched on the edge of a sheer cliff. I wonder if it was built specifically for guests to enjoy the ocean view. It's amazing they went to the trouble of constructing something so grand in such an inaccessible spot.

"Daji-san, is that a Japanese-style building, too?"

"I couldn't say," Daji-san replied. "When I awakened recently, there were structures like that, but in the era I knew best, things were different—there were far more wooden buildings like the ones over there."

"Really? Still, that one looks the most luxurious, so why don't we stay there? Let me see... Hotel 'New Macau.' Yeah, it's definitely the largest and most impressive."

Getting closer only made me more surprised.

"Serena-sama, it's like a castle! I've never seen anything like this."

"It's massive, even for a castle," Serena-sama said.

"This is incredible," Rosario-san added.

Fleur-san, Rosario-san, and Elsa-san were all deeply impressed. In contrast, however…

"It is certainly amazing, but it does not compare to Olympus," Hera-san noted.

"My castle is far more magnificent," Carmilla-san remarked.

"The construction is different, but I suppose it will do," Daji-san mused.

The three of them didn't seem particularly moved. I suppose that's to be expected, considering Hera-san is a high-ranking goddess. But Fleur-san and the others were genuinely excited; it seemed they had never seen a building of this scale before.

"In that case, shall we all head inside?" I asked.

"Yes!" everyone shouted.

The glass doors slid open automatically as we walked toward them. I wonder what kind of mechanism powers that? The interior was just as stunning. It was more luxurious than any castle I'd ever seen.

"Is this also from your country, Daji-san?" I asked.

"No, this is a style I am unfamiliar with."

"If anything, it resembles the castle where I used to live," Carmilla-san remarked.

It seemed closer to Carmilla-san's homeland than Daji-san's, though it also bore a striking resemblance to the architecture of this world.

"Welcome! Welcome to Hotel Macau!" the staff called out in unison.

It felt entirely different from a typical inn.

"Do you have a reservation?"

A reservation… I hadn't made one.

"I haven't booked anything, but is that alright?" I asked.

I had heard that high-end hotels usually required them. If they were full, we'd have no choice but to go elsewhere.

"Ahahaha, it's perfectly fine!" the clerk said. "In the past, we were packed and required reservations, but lately, due to the recession, we're quite empty, as you can see."

Now that they mentioned it, the lobby did feel deserted.

"It certainly is quiet," I observed.

"Business was booming in the past, but lately, we've fallen on hard times," the clerk sighed. "It seems few people can afford three silver coins a night… I miss the era of Ceres-sama and King Zect. The reception desk is over there."

Looking nearby, I saw what appeared to be a festival plaza. There were stalls similar to the ones I'd seen earlier, and a souvenir shop. It was amazing to have all of this inside the hotel.

I walked straight to the reception desk.

"Welcome! Will you be staying with us?" the receptionist asked.

"Yes, for now, please book us in for five nights for all seven of us. I'd like the most luxurious rooms you have available," I said.

The facilities were top-tier, and I was sure a room in a prime location would offer an incredible view. Plus, it looked like we could have plenty of fun just exploring the hotel itself. I had a feeling this place would be a hit.

"Five nights? Understood. I will prepare rooms on the top floor with an ocean view," the receptionist replied.

"I appreciate it," I said.

I couldn't wait to see the view.

"Very well, I will begin the check-in process."

Everyone else had already drifted off toward the festival plaza. Coming on this trip, I realized Daji-san actually had a childlike side to her. Well, that was just part of her charm.

* * *

Everyone was playing ring toss. Ring toss? I wondered if you actually won a prize if you managed to hook one of the items.

"How's it going?" I asked.

"Serena-sama… it's so easy to win prizes here!"

"Yes, yes, Daji-sama, Hera-sama, Carmilla-sama, what would you like next?"

"I'll take that one," Daji-sama said.

"I'd like that one over there," Hera-sama replied.

"I…"

Everyone was already holding a mountain of prizes.

"Guests… I apologize, but you are far too skilled!" the vendor cried. "Please, I must ask you to stop with the rings you have left."

Since Fleur-san and Rosario-san weren't missing a single shot, the staff really didn't have much of a choice. They had already collected about thirty items.

Afterward, we continued to enjoy the festival plaza, playing target games, eating sauce crackers, and sharing cotton candy. Come to think of it, I had heard that the Heroes who lived before Uncle Zect were the ones who created the Kohane
