Chapter 113

"Mother, you're awake?"

Young Master Wei, overjoyed upon hearing a sound, rushed inside.

When Lu Qing and Mago entered, they saw him sitting beside the now-awake Madam Wei.

"Mother, how do you feel now?" he asked with concern.

"Where am I?" Madam Wei asked weakly.

"We're in a cave deep in the mountains. That day, Guard Pang and the others rushed out to distract the enemies while Mago led us deep into the mountains..."

"...Later, Little Doctor Lu gave you acupuncture and medicine, and you woke up."

Young Master Wei slowly recounted the events of the past few days.

Upon hearing this, Madam Wei realized she had been unconscious for several days.

So much had happened while she was unconscious.

She turned her gaze to Lu Qing and Mago.

"Thank you both for risking your lives to save my son and me. I am deeply grateful."

She struggled to get up and express her thanks.

Lu Qing and Mago hurriedly stopped her. "Madam, there's no need for this, please take care of your health."

"Yes, mother, you are still injured. If you want to thank them, I'll do it for you."

With that, Young Master Wei knelt down and kowtowed to Lu Qing and Mago three times.

"Thank you both for saving our lives. I kowtow to express my gratitude on behalf of my mother."

Young Master Wei's sudden action caught Lu Qing and Mago off guard.

By the time they reacted, he was already kowtowing, leaving them no choice but to accept his heavy courtesy.

Madam Wei was astonished by this scene.

She never imagined her son would do such a thing.

In the past, he would rather die than kowtow to others.

What had happened while she was unconscious?

"Young Master, there's no need for this. I have also received kindness from your Wei family before. I came here to repay that favor, so your courtesy is too great."

Lu Qing sighed as Young Master Wei stood up.

"Young Master Lu, what is your connection with my Wei family?" Madam Wei asked in surprise.

"Oh, right, mother, I forgot to tell you. This is Little Doctor Lu, the disciple of Old Doctor Chen who saved me when I was injured. He is very skilled in medicine and woke you up in less than half a day!"

Young Master Wei explained.

"I dare not claim credit. Madam's recovery is due to the powerful medicine prepared by my master. My medical skills are still very shallow," Lu Qing said modestly.

"Yes, mother, the medicine is truly powerful. You only took two drops, and your body immediately improved."

Madam Wei looked at Lu Qing, finally understanding who he was.

When An'er was injured before, she was cured by an old doctor with excellent medical skills.

Afterward, when the Wei family prepared a thank-you gift, the chief steward specifically reminded her that the old doctor had an outstanding disciple who needed an extra gift.

Later, she heard from her husband that the young man had avenged his parents by wiping out a Black Wolf Gang hideout outside the city.

The Silver Moon Guards from the Wei family were dispatched to warn the Black Wolf Gang to protect the young man.

It seemed Lu Qing indeed had some connection with the Wei family.

She never expected that one day, she would be saved by this young man she had never met.

"So, it's Young Master Lu. I've heard my husband mention you. Seeing you now, you are indeed a young talent, extraordinary in appearance," Madam Wei praised.

"Madam flatters me," Lu Qing said, sweating slightly.

After some pleasantries, Lu Qing brought the conversation back to the main issue.

"Madam, many warriors are searching for us in this forest. This cave won't be safe for long. We need to find a way to move."

Lu Qing didn't know that because of Wang Qingshan and Tong Canglang's deaths, the disciples of the Tian Cang Sect had already withdrawn.

But this cave had nothing, and Madam Wei needed rest. They also needed food and water, so it wasn't a place to stay for long.

"But I'm still injured. I'm afraid I'll be a burden to you," Madam Wei said, troubled.

She knew her condition. The wound from that villain's blade was deep, almost to the bone. If it had been a bit worse, her abdomen would have been split open like An'er's.

With such a severe injury, it was already a miracle she was alive. Moving would be unbearable.

"That's not a problem. Madam took my master's medicine. After a while, your body should be able to move. We don't need to leave immediately. We should wait until it's dark to act."

The medicine Madam Wei took contained Earth Vein Spirit Liquid, which had excellent healing properties even in a diluted form.

Lu Qing estimated that it wouldn't take long for her wound to heal.

By then, it would be dark, and they could move.

Madam Wei, initially skeptical, tried moving slightly and found that her wound didn't hurt much.

Though she had been unconscious for days, she felt quite energetic, unlike someone who had been severely injured.

This surprised her greatly.

She remembered what An'er had told her before.

Lu Qing had given her extremely precious medicine.

She needed to find an opportunity to ask An'er what kind of medicine Lu Qing had given her that had such miraculous effects.

"Mother, are you hungry? I have a pancake here that Little Doctor Lu gave me. I saved one for you."

At this time, Young Master Wei took out a pancake he had saved, offering it like a treasure.

Smelling the food, Madam Wei realized she was indeed hungry, not having eaten for days.

Seeing her son's eager face, she felt a surge of emotion.

She took the pancake and bit into it gently.

"Mother, is it good? Little Doctor Lu made it himself. Isn't it different from what we've had before?" Young Master Wei asked expectantly.

Madam Wei chewed a few times, raising her eyebrows.

As An'er said, the pancake's taste was indeed special, different from what the cooks at home made.

She nodded. "It's very good."

Young Master Wei immediately brightened up.

Lu Qing, on the side, felt a bit speechless.

He never thought a simple pancake could make these two noble people so emotional.

Seeing the touching scene between mother and son, he decided not to say anything to spoil the moment.

After eating and drinking some water, Madam Wei continued to rest.

However, as time passed, she felt more and more surprised.

She felt her strength returning continuously.

Especially at the wound, which kept itching.

If not for the presence of others, she would have liked to unwrap the bandage to see what was happening.

Fortunately, Lu Qing noticed her discomfort and used silver needles to alleviate it, making her feel much better.

Lu Qing knew why this was happening.

The medicine he gave Madam Wei was working, promoting her wound's healing.

The powerful effect caused the itchiness.

Once the wound healed, the itching would stop.

Thanks to Lu Qing's acupuncture, Madam Wei felt much more comfortable, though the itch remained.

By the afternoon, the itch had significantly lessened.

By dusk, it was gone entirely, and Madam Wei could even stand and walk.

Seeing Madam Wei up and moving, not only Young Master Wei but also Mago was stunned.

He knew how serious her injury was.

How could she be so energetic after just half a day?

Lu Qing's martial skills and medical prowess were astonishing.

But why hadn't his shoulder healed as quickly?

Mago touched his shoulder, feeling a bit depressed.

"Thank you, Young Master Lu, for saving my life," Madam Wei said, bowing to Lu Qing.

By now, she knew she must have taken some rare and precious medicine.

Otherwise, how could she have recovered so quickly?

"Madam, no need to thank me. How do you feel now?" Lu Qing asked.

Madam Wei moved around a bit. "The wound doesn't hurt anymore. I should be able to move."

"Then we shouldn't delay. Let's prepare to leave," Lu Qing said, seeing the sky darken.

However, despite Madam Wei's recovery, moving in the dark forest was still challenging.

Mago was also injured, so they decided Lu Qing would carry Madam Wei to move faster.

"Madam, excuse me," Lu Qing said, squatting down in front of her.

"No need to be so formal. Think of me as an elder," Madam Wei said gracefully, not minding such details.

Thus, Lu Qing carried Madam Wei, Mago took the pack, and they left the cave to begin their transfer.

Since Lu Qing was carrying someone, Xiao Li couldn't stay on his shoulder but was tasked to stay alert around them.

The four of them, along with Xiao Li, moved stealthily through the forest.

Lu Qing's night vision ability, coupled with Xiao Li's help, allowed them to move quickly, covering several mountains in a short time.

However, Lu Qing was puzzled that Xiao Li never alerted him to any nearby people.

If not for Xiao Li occasionally jumping on his head, he might have doubted the little creature was following them.

Could it be that the pursuers had withdrawn for the night?

Lu Qing wondered.

But regardless of the situation, he didn't change his plan.

Under Lu Qing's lead, they circled through the forest and eventually emerged from an unknown, secluded corner.

With no dangers encountered, the next issue was where to hide Madam Wei and her son.

Going to the prefecture was out of the question. Since the Wei family's plan had failed, the road to the prefecture was likely full of Tian Cang Sect's men waiting for them.

The best option was to find a hiding place and avoid exposure.

So, the hiding place was crucial.

Jiuli Village was out of

the question.

Not only did Lu Qing not want to bring this trouble back home, but the village's crowdedness made it unsuitable for hiding.

After discussing with Mago, they decided to hide them in Mago's house in the Grand Bazaar.

Mago's house had a secret room with a hidden passage leading outside for quick escapes.

The people in the house were Mago's trusted confidants who wouldn't betray him, making it an ideal temporary hiding place.

With Madam Wei's consent, they identified their direction and headed for the Grand Bazaar.

Hurrying under the moonlight, the four finally reached the Grand Bazaar by midnight.

"Brother Lu Qing, Madam, wait here. I'll make some preparations," Mago said.

The fewer people knew about Madam Wei and her son, the better.

So he needed to clear the house first to avoid unwanted eyes.

Lu Qing nodded. After Mago left, he stood in the shadow of a large tree, carrying Madam Wei.

Next to him, Young Master Wei was panting heavily.

"An'er, are you tired?" Madam Wei asked, concerned.

"Mother, don't worry. I'm not tired," Young Master Wei said, trying to catch his breath and forcing a smile.

His effort made Madam Wei even more distressed.

Lu Qing listened to their conversation silently.

He was somewhat surprised.

They had traveled a long distance through mountains and valleys.

Young Master Wei's endurance was remarkable, befitting his Tendons and Bones Realm physique.

They waited in the shadows for about fifteen minutes before seeing Mago return.

"Brother Lu Qing, Madam, everything is ready. We can go in," Mago said.

Lu Qing acknowledged and carried Madam Wei to the house.

Inside, it was quiet, with no one in sight, indicating Mago had cleared the place.

Under Mago's guidance, they entered a secret room from a passage in one of the rooms.

The secret room had new bedding, clearly just arranged by Mago.

"Madam, this place is simple and inconvenient. I apologize for any discomfort."
