Chapter 566: Universal War [2] |
Dren laughed when he saw the expressionless face of Nameless Death.
He thought coming to this restuarant would've surprised him, but it seemed not.
"Why did you bring me here?" Nameless Death questioned.
"To talk about war.
The best way to do that was by showing the example."
Dren ordered some dishes before he continued.
"Do you know why we are fighting a war?"
Nameless Death wasn't interested, but Dren clearly wanted him to ask why.
Sighing, Nameless Death spoke, "Why?"
"Forgotten Suns want to place a Grand Spell on the universe that would put a seal on every being's Core. We from the Alliance are opposing them.
"We don't want to be chained down. Nobody likes being chained.
You should know that better than anyone else."
Nameless Death frowned.
"Why do they want to put a seal on everyone?"
"To bring 'equality'." Dren clicked his tongue as he explained.
"They want to bring everyone to an 'equal' level.
"Things like…
"Interracial species will have easier time conceiving a child.
"When a strong person will go to a weak world, their rank and abilities would be restricted."
He pointed to people around.
"The size-changing thing is another 'equality' they are applying. They think that being equal in body would bring us closer in heart—"
"Wait," Nameless Death interrupted.
"What did you mean abilities will be sealed?"
"Oh, that? It meant what I said. They preach how a strong God or Awakener could destroy a weaker world, and this is why they are creating a Grand Spell.
"It would seal people's rank and techniques when they visit a weaker world. This way, they can't rampage around as they wish."
Dren spat.
"Disgusting weaklings.
Can you believe them? They want to seal abilities because they are worried a strong person would destroy a weak world."
"What's wrong with that?" Nameless Death asked.
He felt that it was a good approach.
But his words made Dren look at him with a frown.
Dren quickly fixed his expression and smiled.
"It's not a good approach.
It goes against the Heavenly Principles."
"Heavenly Principles…?"
"Yes," Dren nodded.
"Nameless Death, this is how the world was created. The fear of a weaker world being crushed by a whimsical God? This is how the Creator created the Cosmos.
"It is what forces people to grow, to chase strength.
"We were made unequal.
We were meant to compete, and engage in conflict.
"Violence is the truth of Evolution.
This is the truth of our Universe, and the Great Cosmos.
"By saying that you want to bring equality, you are opposing the Will of the Creator – the Heavenly Principles," Dren explained.
He sighed and shook his head.
"The Forgotten Suns want to erase all conflict by bringing equality.
They are opposing the intentions of the Creator. Is that not something we should stop?"
Nameless Death stared at Dren.
Would he still say the same thing if he was born of a war-torn world that was under the mercy of invading Gods?
"I see," Dren smiled bitterly.
"It's clear that you don't follow the ideals of the Alliance.
Then again, I suppose expecting a Heavenbreaker to follow the will of the Creator was wrong of me."
Silence appeared between them.
Food was served soon after. Dren ate with manners, and Nameless Death did not touch anything.
Inwardly, Dren was surprised by Nameless Death.
'He isn't attacking me, even though he must be wishing to rip me into pieces.'
'It's clear he has a calm head over his shoulders that can discern his situation.'
After finishing the food, Dren and Nameless Death left the restaurants.
"Why did you take me from that woman?" asked Nameless Death.
"Finally," Dren smiled.
"I was starting to wonder if you will question me about it or not."
The two entered a teleporter, and appeared on a space station.
The ground beneath them was made from glass.
Nameless Death looked down.
Beyond the glass, he saw a gigantic planet covered in red lightning.
He could not see the size of the planet through his senses, and it made him wonder what was the rank of the planet.
"It's not a planet. Not anymore," Dren said, knowing what the Nameless Death must be thinking.
"Then, what is it?"
"Its name? There is no official name of places like this. For now, let's call that a 'Site.
' Sites are the location where the aftermaths of the battle between Monarch of Death and Supreme of Death reached."
"I see…"
Dren chuckled when he saw the confused expression on Nameless Death's face.
"Simply put, the One Who Created Death, and the God who mastered Death fought once in the past. The shockwaves of their battle rippled through countless universes, and left behind 'Sites.
'
"These Sites are infested by their Death Elementals, which happen to have a unique nature. We call those Death Elementals berserk Death Elementals.
"When someone enters the Sites, the Death Elementals attack them, and begin to fuse into the person—"
"Fuse? Isn't that the nature of Darkness, and not of Death?" Nameless Death interrupted.
"I'm just telling you what I found out."
Dren shrugged.
"Anyhow, my point is, the berserk Death Elementals will fuse into your existence, and raise your existence level, and it will also turn you berserk."
"That does not sound safe." Nameless Death pointed.
"Haha, it isn't. Whenever the fusion happens, the person loses their individuality, and becomes a personification of Berserk Death Elementals.
"It grants them immense power.
"The Berserker we created through this method defeated the Loved One of Space.
This fact alone should be enough to tell you how powerful a Berserker is.
"But…
"That Berserker and the other ones we created don't have a sense of individuality, which reduces their combat power in half since they can only use basic Death elemental techniques.
"The only reason Berserkers are strong is because of their raw power. They do not have any finesse."
He turned to Namesless Death.
"What if we can give them finesse? What if they do not lose their individuality while retaining the strength gained from Berserk Death Elementals?" Dren questioned.
Heavenbreakers had immense willpower.
Theoretically, Nameless Death should be able to maintain individuality even after being fused with Berserk Death Elementals.
