Chapter 5113: To The Hayden Family Estate |
The Hayden Family Estate occupied nearly an entire street by itself.
This was considered a big thing since a Mid-Level Primarch Grade Power could only occupy a single mansion in the core city if they didn’t have enough wealth, but the Hayden Family was able to occupy a long street capable of holding over fifty-two mansions.
Tall dark walls surrounded the sprawling grounds while countless formation runes faintly pulsed beneath the stone pathways. Exotic and enduring trees filled the courtyards, their leaves carrying traces of water and darkness energy that naturally gathered throughout the estate. Pavilions rose one after another deeper within the grounds while streams flowed between bridges carved from black crystal jade.
The procession slowly passed through the massive entrance gates.
As Evelynn descended from the palanquin, another luxurious palanquin happened to be leaving from the inner estate.
Numerous people surrounded it.
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
A slender fair leg briefly appeared behind the lifted curtain before disappearing inside. The pale skin, delicate silver anklets that softly chimed, and faintly trembling movement were enough for Evelynn to recognize that it belonged to a familiar woman.
At the same time, a white-blue robed man standing beside the palanquin that was about to depart turned his head. His appearance was refined and handsome, his bearing noble and elegant. Black hair tied behind his back contrasted against his gentle blue eyes while faint light energy lingered around him like invisible flowing mist.
Although her figure was concealed beneath black robes and a serpent mask, her posture, aura, and the sinister calm surrounding her caused his eyes to flicker with intrigue.
Evelynn merely glanced at him once before calmly turning away and walking toward the estate.
He watched her retreating figure.
"What an unusual woman..."
His subordinate lowered his head respectfully.
"Saint?"
Saint Riyal Mendez slowly narrowed his eyes, "Who is she?"
After a pause, the subordinate quickly responded as he gathered information from the others during the interval.
"Replying to Saint, she appears to be a guest personally escorted here by the Hayden Family after helping them repel the Miredon Family’s cultivators earlier."
"Oh?" Saint Riyal Mendez’s interest deepened slightly, "A guest?"
His gaze lingered on the black-robed figure disappearing into the estate. He removed his gaze from her and looked at the palanquin, his expression a bit confused.
Something about her felt vaguely familiar, yet her aura wasn’t clear as she seemed to be concealing herself well. It only sought to garner more of his interest, making him smile amusedly.
"Does she belong to some major power?"
"We are uncertain." Saint Riyal Mendez chuckled softly.
"Interesting. She bears the air of a noble lady, but her aura feels strangely sinister. It is unlike ordinary darkness cultivators."
He paused before asking casually, "Is she married?"
The subordinate blinked before quickly lowering his head further.
"This subordinate does not know." .
Saint Riyal Mendez nodded lightly before entering his own palanquin.
"Find out later."
The curtains closed as the procession departed from the Hayden Family Estate.
Meanwhile, Evelynn was escorted deeper into the estate.
Numerous Hayden Family members secretly observed her along the way. Some carried curiosity while others carried caution after hearing what had occurred earlier.
This woman was probably the most important person in her power if she could own the property documents and even possess the formation core.
Soon, she was brought into an elegant reception hall.
The interior was spacious and luxurious. Water-attributed spirit lamps illuminated the hall with soft blue light while faint darkness energy circulated through hidden formations beneath the floor.
Several maids quickly served spirit tea and delicacies.
Evelynn did not touch any of it, and they didn’t force her either.
She simply sat calmly while Fairy Qiyra Darkstar stood quietly behind her in the appearance of an ordinary maid.
The light purple-haired young man who escorted her earlier smiled politely.
"Our Patriarch is currently handling some matters and will arrive shortly. Please forgive the delay, Young Mistress."
Evelynn nodded faintly before speaking, "I have heard that the Hayden Family is an ancient family talented in fighting poison with poison. Is it true?"
The young man’s gaze glittered, "Yes, we have a lot of Poison Apothecaries capable of dealing poison with poison. Should Young Mistress encounter a poison you aren’t able to deal with, please feel free to approach us. Our Hayden Family will definitely work hard to cure you."
"Is this talent a part of your bloodline?" Evelynn’s voice turned curious.
"Yes, our founding ancestor, Hayden, was the owner of the darkness-poison physique known as Blackmarrow Poison Body. The marrow in our bones is extremely poisonous to others. Even beasts will fall ill and die in the worst case if they eat us, but when our blood essence is used right, it can turn into a cure for a myriad of poisons. But of course, our Poison Apothecaries are all learned about the arts of curing poison with poison through the usage of poisonous herbs and other diverse resources. I dare say we’re one of the best in the Upper Realms when it comes to this matter." The young man boasted as he raised his hand and flicked his sleeves.
"Amazing." Evelynn complimented, her voice genuine.
She felt it would be great if she had this kind of blood since she could also turn her poison into a cure. In this case, she wouldn’t need to fear that her poison would harm her family members and could interact with them closely, especially the children, where she could hug them to death.
However, her poison was always deadly. It only grew deadlier by the day.
Azariel and Viridia were immune to her since they carried her blood, but with this new mutated bloodline she inherited from Hexena Xylusc, who inherited half the bloodline from Mira, even Azariel and Viridia wouldn’t go unscathed if she were to hug them, much less the other children. She could only make due preparations and hold them for a short time.
However, she wasn’t too concerned because as long as she could hold Davis and poison him with her saliva while he greedily sucked on her like he was drinking the fountain of youth, what else did she need?
But now that she learned about the Hayden Family’s bloodline, she wondered if she could also make her blood become tamer.
"Haha, Young Mistress is too polite." The light purple-haired young man cupped his hands again.
"My name is Dallon Hayden, the second Young Master of the Hayden Family."
"So it’s Young Master Dallon Hayden."
Evelynn nodded imperceptibly, "Sharing the same circumstances as an ancient family whose bloodline has declined a lot, I wonder what grade your bloodline falls in."
"Ah, it’s a pity we haven’t produced any new owners with the Blackmarrow Poison Body Physique. Hence, our bloodline has already fallen. It’s on the brink of degrading to Grade Seven Bloodline if we don’t do anything soon." He shook his head, seemingly not hiding anything.
"So your family’s bloodline is still a Grade Eight Bloodline, which is called Primarch Grade Bloodline in this era."
Evelynn was well aware that ancient families used a different way of grading bloodline ranks.
She knew bloodlines were ranked all the way from Grade One Bloodline to Grade Nine Bloodline; the higher the number, the better it was.
