Chapter 410: trade secrets

The Kingdom of Frost.

Shier extended his hand and caught the petals that fell from the sky. This flower was called Imperar. In an ancient language before the founding of the Kingdom of Frost, it meant ‘Holy Blessing’.

As the petals fell, shier looked at the throne in the distance of the castle. Beside the throne, Marshal Amat and the generals of the fortress stood respectfully by the side.

Shier still had a feeling of unreality.

Although shier knew that her mother had always had the ambition to let her ascend to the throne, shier had never had any persistent thoughts about the throne.

She looked at the seat in the distance that many people wanted to sit on, but in her heart, she was thinking about the messages sent to her by the person who uploaded the message to the fire.

If it was possible, shier wanted to return to Nolan immediately and then run to the theater that the person who had uploaded the message said to wait for the release of the new movie.

But now was not the time.

Shier let go of her hand, and the petals fell from her hand. She walked to the throne again.

The Haze of the adjudicator had not completely dispersed, and there were still many places in the country of frost that were still under the control of the adjudicator. Shier could not abandon the responsibility on her shoulders and leave the country just like that.

In the end, under the gaze of tens of thousands of people, Shier sat on the throne. The subjects on both sides instantly half-kneeled, and the knights on both sides of the road also half-kneeled with longswords in their hands, everyone within Shier’s line of sight bowed their heads to her.

According to the tradition of the frost country, when the king was crowned, there would be a bishop from the sacred religion country blessing him.

Unfortunately, when Shier held this coronation ceremony, he tore down all the churches in the Kingdom of Frost’s imperial capital.

This coronation ceremony did not last long, and shier directly cut out a lot of complicated content.

“May the spirit of Frost protect you forever, Great King Shier.”An elderly elder placed the crown representing power on Shier’s head. “Guide us on the right path.”

Wearing the crown, shier rejected the scepter handed over by the Elder. He stood up with the longsword that he carried with him and spoke loudly to everyone.

“My subjects! There are still many places in our country that are shrouded in the shadow of the judges. Now is not the time to rest!”

Under this command, the soldiers who were originally half-kneeling on the ground instantly stood up. The sound of steel and steel interweaving resounded throughout the entire square.

..

In the castle, the coronation ceremony had ended. Next, Shier still held a small celebration banquet to reward the soldiers who followed him in battle.

However, Shier took the opportunity of this celebration banquet to secretly go to a battlements outside the castle alone.

On the battlements filled with snow stood a pitch-black crow.

“Are you leaving?”Shier waved his hand to sweep away the snow on the rocks at the edge of the battlements. Then, he leaned against the rocks and looked at the crow.

“My mission has been completed. If I want to make a sequel, I might be able to stay, but unfortunately, my ‘commander’doesn’t have such thoughts.”

The Crow tilted its head. Although it didn’t open its mouth, the voice of the Dark Elf came from the Crow’s throat.

“That’s a pity,”shier said in disappointment.

“Then let’s do one last interview.”

Although the Dark Elf had received the news that Joshua said that they could return to Nolan, as a reporter or an intelligence officer, the Dark Elf would not let go of any information that was beneficial to her.

She changed from the crow into her original posture and took out a camera to point at the ‘delicate and moving’king.

“After taking back the imperial capital of the Frost Kingdom, what do you plan to do next?”The Dark Elf asked.

“Next?”Shier was silent for a moment, then turned around and looked at the city wall of the imperial capital.

“It’s not a secret. There are a total of eight major families in the Frost Kingdom. They form the backbone of the frost kingdom, whether it’s military or trade. On the way, I only helped the four families to get rid of the adjudicators lurking among them, but this is far from enough…”

Shier picked up the snow that had accumulated on the stone and clenched it into a ball.

“What worries me the most is the Frost Wolf family. This family used to be an independent kingdom. After being defeated by the Frost Kingdom, no… after being defeated by us, they merged into our territory. Now, the entire Frost Kingdom is in chaos. They might take this opportunity to raise the flag of rebellion. As the King, my next step is to quell the internal strife.”

Shier’s voice was very soft, but the dark elves could still hear the coldness in it.

Along the way, the Dark Elves had witnessed with their own eyes how ‘cold-blooded’This prince was. She was not as indecisive as an ordinary little girl when facing enemies, she would never show mercy to those who deserved to be killed.

At this moment, Frost and snow suddenly fell from the sky.

“Is it snowing again?”Shier looked up at the sky and reached out her hand. The snowflakes slowly fell on her palm and gradually melted.

The Dark Elves admired Shier as a king, but compared to the dark elves, they were not really interested in information about her identity as a king.

“Then, let’s not talk about this country. What is your personal wish?”The Dark Elves asked.

“My Personal Wish?”

Shier exhaled a breath of cold air into her hand. Although she had received the approval of the frost spirit, she was still not used to the cold weather in the frost country.

“There are still quite a few. Other than the fact that I told you before that I want to go to Nolan, there’s also… I want to watch a new movie.”Shier seemed to have thought of something. “Thousand faces, you should have seen a movie in Nolan?”

“I have,”the Dark Elf said. “I still remember Leon holding a potted plant in ‘the devil is not too cold.’”

“Then what should I do if Nolan wants to see a new movie?”

“Just buy a movie ticket at the White Thorn Theatre. The ticket price is not expensive. The cheapest one only costs a few silver coins.”

Although the Dark Elf did not know why Shier asked this, she still told her this information for free.

“Then how many gold coins do I need to buy this movie? Will it be… very expensive?”Shier asked carefully.

At this time, the Dark Elf could no longer see what a king should look like on her body. Instead, she looked like an ordinary little girl who was calculating whether she had the money to go to the movies.

“I think you mean the original crystal that records all the images of the movie. This kind of original crystal is very expensive. Usually, only the theater operator will make a bid to buy it. After buying it, he has the right to let the movie be shown in his own theater,”the Dark Elf replied.

“If you’re interested, I can go back to Nolan and talk to the person-in-charge of the White Thorn Theatre. With your status as the king of the Frost Kingdom, the person-in-charge of the White Thorn Theatre would probably agree to sell them to you. Of course, you’ll be the one to pay for them. After you buy them, you’ll be able to open a theatre in the Frost Kingdom.”

“Theatre.”Shier chanted this unfamiliar yet familiar term as she looked towards the interior of the Frost Kingdom’s imperial capital.

This imperial capital was very prosperous. Almost any building or shop that shier could think of could be found here, but she could not see any large theater.

This was because the citizens of the Kingdom of frost themselves were not interested in the arts from Faroese. In the eyes of the Osta people, this was ‘children’s nonsense.’

Shier should be focusing on pacifying the internal strife in the Kingdom of frost right now, instead of thinking about whether she should open a theater or something.

But when this idea appeared in her mind, she realized that it could not be extinguished.

She wanted to share what she liked with others so that the citizens of the frost kingdom could enjoy such an interesting ‘movie’.

“Thousand faces, can you help me bring the ‘movie’from Nolan to My Country?”Shier asked the dark elf solemnly.

Although shier and the Dark Elf had not known each other for a long time, they were still friends who had once entrusted their lives to each other.

“It’s not difficult. It would take me about half a month to get back and forth from Nolan.”The Dark Elf suddenly remembered a professional ‘courier’that Joshua had mentioned before. “Half a month? It would take a whole four months to get from the frost country to Nolan on horseback.”Shier was slightly stunned. He could not understand why thousand-face could get back and forth to Nolan so quickly.

“In the words of my employer, the answer is probably ‘trade secrets,’”the Dark Elf said.

    Frostfell Nation

Shier extended her hand and caught the petals that fell from the sky. This flower was called Imperar. In an ancient language predating the founding of the country, it meant ‘Holy Blessing’.

As the petals fell, Shier looked at the throne at the far end of the castle. Beside the throne, Marshal Amur and the fortress generals stood respectfully.
Shier still felt a sense of unreality.

Although Shier knew that her mother had always harbored the ambition for her to ascend to the throne, she had never held any persistent thoughts about the throne herself.

She looked at the distant throne that many coveted, but her mind was filled with the messages sent by Firebringer.

If possible, Shier wanted to return to Nolan immediately and rush to the theater where Firebringer had uploaded the message, eager to await the new movie's release.
But now was not the time.

Shier released the petals, watching them fall from her hand. She walked towards the throne again.

The haze of the heretical tribunal still lingered, and parts of Frostfell remained under their control. Shier could not abandon her responsibilities and leave the country.

Finally, under the gaze of tens of thousands, Shier sat on the throne. The subjects on both sides instantly half-knelt, and the knights lining the path also half-knelt, longswords in hand, everyone within Shier’s sight bowing their heads.

According to Frostfell tradition, a bishop from Aetherion would bless the king during the coronation.

Unfortunately, Shier had torn down all the churches in Morinke royal city before her coronation.

The ceremony was brief, as Shier omitted much of the elaborate content.

“May the spirit of Frost protect you forever, Great King Shier,” an elderly man said, placing the crown of power on Shier’s head. “Guide us on the right path.”

Wearing the crown, Shier declined the scepter offered by the elder. She stood, longsword in hand, and addressed the crowd.

“My subjects! Many parts of our country are still shrouded in the inquisitors’ haze. Now is not the time for rest!”
At this command, the soldiers who had been half-kneeling stood instantly. The clang of steel echoed throughout the square.

    ...

In the castle, the coronation ended. Shier then held a small celebration banquet to reward the soldiers who had followed her in battle.

However, Shier used the banquet as an opportunity to slip away to the castle battlements.

On the snow-covered battlements stood a pitch-black crow.

“Are you leaving?” Shier waved her hand to clear the snow from the crenals at the edge of the battlements. She leaned against it and looked at the crow.

“My mission is complete. If a sequel were planned, I might stay, but my ‘commander’ has no such intentions.”

The crow tilted its head. Though it didn’t open its beak, the Dark Elf’s voice emanated from its throat.

“That’s a pity,” Shier said, disappointed.

“Then, let’s have one last interview.”

Although Thousand-Faces had received a message from Joshua permitting her return to Norland, as a reporter or intelligence officer, she wouldn’t pass up any valuable information.

She shifted from crow form to her original form and aimed a camera at the ‘delicate and moving’ king.

“After reclaiming the nation’s city of Monrinke, what are your plans?” she asked.

“Plans?” Shier paused, then turned to look at the city wall.

“It’s no secret. Frostfell has eight major families. They form the country’s backbone, in both military and trade. I’ve only helped four families eliminate the heretical inquisitors lurking among them, and that’s far from enough…”

Shier picked up the accumulated snow and formed it into a ball.

“My greatest concern is the Frost Wolf family. They were once an independent kingdom. After being defeated by Frostfell—no, by us—they were integrated into our territory. Now, with Frostfell in chaos, they might seize the opportunity to rebel. As king, my next step is to quell the internal strife.”
Shier’s voice was soft, but Thousand-Faces could still detect the coldness within it.
She had witnessed Shier’s ‘cold-blooded’ nature firsthand. Unlike an indecisive child, Shier showed no mercy to those who deserved death.

At that moment, snowflakes began to fall.

“Is it snowing again?” Shier looked up and extended her hand. Snowflakes gently landed on her palm and melted.
Thousand-Faces admired Shier as a king, but she was more interested in information beyond his royal identity.

“Let’s set aside matters of state. What is your wish?” the Dark Elf asked.

“My wish?” Shier exhaled cold air into her hand. Despite receiving the frost spirit’s blessing, she still wasn’t accustomed to Frostfell’s cold.

“I have several. Besides my desire to visit Nolan, there’s also… I want to watch a new movie.” Shier seemed to remember something. “Thousand-Face, you’ve seen a movie in Norland, haven’t you?”

“Yes,” she said. “I still remember Leon holding a potted plant in ‘Leon: The Professional’.”

“Then, how does one watch a new movie in Norland?”

“Just buy a movie ticket at the Weissenasche Theatre. Tickets are affordable. The cheapest ones cost only a few silver coins.”
Although she didn’t understand Shier’s question, she provided the information.

“And the originum crystal that records the movie? How many gold coins does that cost? Is it… very expensive?” Shier asked carefully.
At that moment, Shier resembled a child calculating whether they had enough money for a movie, rather than a king.

“The originum crystals are very expensive. Typically, only theater operators bid for them. After purchasing, they gain the right to screen the movie,” Thousand-Faces replied.

“If you’re interested, I can return to Norland and speak with the Weissenasche Theatre’s manager. With your royal status, they’d likely agree to sell them to you. Of course, you’d cover the cost. After buying them, you could open a theater in Frostfell.”

“Theater,” Shier repeated, looking towards the royal city of Morinke.

The capital was prosperous, offering nearly every building and shop imaginable, but no large theaters were visible.

This was because Frostfell citizens had little interest in Farucci’s arts, viewing them as ‘childish nonsense.’

Shier should focus on pacifying the country’s internal strife, not on opening a theater.
    But the idea persisted.
She wanted to share her interests and allow citizens to enjoy ‘movies.’

“Thousand-Faces, can you help me bring ‘movies’ from Norland to my country?” Shier asked solemnly.

Despite their brief acquaintance, Shier and Thousand-Faces were friends who had trusted each other with their lives.

“It’s not difficult. The round trip to Norland takes about half a month.” Thousand-Faces recalled a professional ‘courier’ Joshua had mentioned. “Half a month? It takes four months to travel from Frostfell to Nolan by horseback.” Shier was slightly stunned, unable to comprehend Thousand-Faces’ rapid travel.

“In my employer’s words, the answer is probably ‘trade secrets,’” the Dark Elf said.
