Chapter 625: Telling You What My Finishing Move Is

In the First Chamber, where everything was twisted and warped.

Lynn stared at them with deep, fathomless eyes, as if he had everything under control. This was different from last time, when he failed to anticipate exactly when Little One’s family would arrive and disaster had erupted.

The high-ranking Plague Doctors inside the First Chamber were already deathly pale.

But from beginning to end, the bound Doctor 315 remained expressionless as he watched Lynn.

Not even the Leviathan’s entire Cataclysm unleashed by the Plague Doctors had moved him.

“Begin.”

His cold voice rang in the minds of the assembled Plague Doctor high-ups.

They were all shaken to the core.

He spoke in his consciousness with a heavy tone, “Although most of my Will is trapped in this body by him, the Leviathan is still under my control. Those puppets were originally mine. As long as I stabilize that portion of my Will inside the Leviathan, I can reclaim control of the puppets.”

The moment he said that, the Plague Doctor leaders immediately understood what he meant.

Exactly!

The situation still hadn’t reached a point beyond salvation. If they risked everything in one desperate push, there was still a chance to turn the tide!

At that moment the senior Plague Doctors grit their teeth, exchanged glances, and all understood each other.

“Kill!”

They roared ferociously, their eyes bloodshot.

Instantly, with flesh and blood convulsing, countless means of attack surged toward Lynn and his puppets.

Lynn said nothing further. He looked down at them and gave a slight wave. The five Death-Omen Tier puppets clustered around him immediately lifted their heads and plunged into the fray.

Alice also instantly emitted a torrent of Ghost Energy, her gaze icy, eager to join the battle, but Lynn reached out and stopped her.

“Alice, don’t get involved. Leave this to them.”

Lynn’s voice sounded in her mind.

Alice paused, puzzled, glancing at her brother who remained as calm as a still well.

He said slowly, “Leave here at once. Go to the coordinates I gave you earlier. I have something more important for you to do.”

“But, Brother…”

“Go.”

Lynn turned his head, a faint smile lifting the corner of his mouth as he reached out to pat her head.

“Leave this to me. Trust your brother. We will win this war in the end.”

His tone was extremely even, without noticeable fluctuation, yet it put people at ease.

Staring steadily at Lynn’s cheek, Alice nodded heavily. No matter what happened, she trusted Lynn without reservation—she believed he could handle this because of the family-like bond between them.

Alice’s figure slowly vanished from where she stood.

Then Lynn looked up and addressed the Mechanical Girl at his side.

“Go. Leave the First Chamber. From now on, you are forbidden to use any method to sense or spy on what happens here.”

That commanding tone almost pushed Silver Fantasy past the brink of controlled anger, but she held back and turned coldly to stare at his profile.

Because, despite her reluctance to admit it, the string of things he’d just done did prove his value and capability.

“Good. Behave.”

Lynn rubbed his brow and turned to give him an oddly gentle, enigmatic smile.

“Do as I say. As my adorable teammate, you don’t want our mission to fail because of your stubbornness, do you? My Miss Intelligence Machine.”

[Ding! Silver Fantasy’s anger +15]

That mocking, superior tone nearly snapped Silver Fantasy’s last restraint.

“Was this part of your plan?” Silver Fantasy asked sharply.

Lynn replied calmly, “You could say that.”

“Of course, you can ignore me. After all, my desire to take you out is as strong as yours to do the same to me. Maybe I’m the one trying to set you up.”

Lynn gave her a puzzling, uncanny smile.

Silver Fantasy glanced at him coldly, but despite her feelings, she complied with Lynn’s instruction, turned, and quickly left the First Chamber.

She could tell he was deliberately taunting her.

But she also understood that her grasp of the current situation was far inferior to his.

So following his lead now was clearly the most rational choice.

She dashed out of the First Chamber.

Soon the First Chamber contained only the five puppets Lynn controlled and the Plague Doctor high-ups.

“You’re overconfident. Do you really think those five puppets alone can kill me? Don’t forget, they were mine to begin with!” Doctor 315’s cold voice sounded.

Lynn adjusted his monocle with a smile and said, “But you can’t control the Leviathan right now, can you? So how would you take back control of them from me? The advantage is still mine.”

Doctor 315’s face remained as calm as a still well, expressionless.

“Is that so? But you’ve already missed the best chance to kill me. If you had launched your initial strike with seven Death-Omen Tier forces to deliver a fatal blow, you might have secured victory. But now, you no longer have that chance.”

Across the chaotic battlefield a hundred meters away, Lynn smiled and said,

“No, Doctor, that still wouldn’t have killed you. Your ability to control a Root-level construct like the Leviathan means your soul is strong, and I firmly believe you armored your soul long ago to prevent such assassination attempts.”

The fighting continued.

Before the Puppet Mark’s control, the five Death-Omen Tier puppets were almost conducting a one-sided slaughter.

Lynn merely flicked a finger.

One of the puppets abruptly turned, its crimson claws instantly lunging at the bound Doctor 315 in the center.

Clang—

A loud crash.

Leviathan flesh writhing out from the walls on both sides instantly blocked that Death-Omen Tier strike for the expressionless Doctor 315.

Lynn’s mouth curved slightly, “See? The portion of your consciousness that remains inside the Leviathan may no longer be able to control its every move, but if you limit control to the First Chamber, you can still partially mobilize the Leviathan’s might.”

“And if I’m not mistaken, somewhere in your body you used the Leviathan’s powerful flesh and blood to forge an immensely strong vessel for your soul. If that’s the case, even seven Death-Omen Tier attackers wouldn’t be able to handle you.”

Doctor 315’s eyes flickered; murderous intent in them seemed to solidify into something concrete.

Without question, every word Lynn said pierced his heart.

He had indeed used the Leviathan’s flesh to fashion a vessel for his soul, allowing his spirit to survive even after his body had been gravely injured.

But how did Lynn know?!

What exactly was his aim?!

Lynn paced slowly and said, “Actually, it’s obvious. If someone controlled a construct as potent as the Leviathan but still kept their soul in a frail body, any sensible person would see the weakness at a glance. But since you wouldn’t allow such a vulnerability to be displayed to outsiders...”

“When we destroyed your brain and heart earlier, it already roughly confirmed my suspicion: ordinary methods can’t kill you. So even if I can accurately locate the vessel housing your soul within your body, dismantling it will take considerable time.”

“And instead of doing that, it’s better to think of alternative methods.”

Doctor 315 stared at him coldly and said heavily,

“Oh? Like now? You want me to gather my consciousness to control the Leviathan and use it to kill you?”

Hum—

The walls on both sides began to writhe and distort. Massive crimson tentacles shot forth like speared lances, attacking Lynn from all directions.

Two of the Death-Omen Tier puppets instantly emitted long howls. Their upper bodies became huge masses of flesh and they formed towering walls around Lynn, blocking the Leviathan’s dense assault and protecting him.

Amid the tremendous roar, Lynn adjusted his monocle with a slight smile and said,

“You can’t kill me, Doctor. If you don’t concentrate your consciousness entirely into the First Chamber, even if you can control the Leviathan, you can’t unleash its full strength. As you see now, I only need two Death-Omen Tier puppets to block your attack.”

Then he lifted his head, smiled toward Doctor 315, and took out his pocket watch to glance at it.

“And I can also tell you why I’ve been talking with you for so long.”

Snap—

He closed the pocket watch in his hand.

“I’ll tell you what my finishing move is.”
