Chapter 995: Dream?

"Mommy…"

"Mommy…"

Lumian heard crying calls coming from the surrounding darkness, shrill and pitiful, as if clawing at his heart and soul.

Suddenly, black flames that suppressed madness and destruction ignited on Lumian's body.

These flames spread to the surroundings, burning away the darkness and everything hidden within it.

The crying calls abruptly became piercing, then quickly dissipated.

Lumian let out a cold laugh.

"If you had called me 'Daddy', I might have felt a bit reluctant and affectionate, but 'Mommy'? Who are you trying to fool?"

Just as he finished muttering this to himself, the surrounding darkness shattered inch by inch.

Lumian then awoke, opening his eyes to see the ceiling with its hanging chandelier, hidden in the deep night.

Was I just dreaming?

The fetus in Li Keji's belly died at the hands of its 'mother', its resentment unresolved, it latched onto me, and I thoroughly burned it away?

Your 'mother' is Omebella, what does that have to do with me, Lumian?

Lumian grumbled a few words, reached for his phone, selected "Intis Group Grimm", and used voice input to say: "I heard the cries of my child, who encountered a disaster leading to death.

"Someone must have helped Li Keji abort."

After sending this WeChat message, Lumian copied the content and sent it to Lu Yong'an as well.

Within ten to twenty seconds, Lu Yong'an replied: "Should we go to Crimson Moon Hospital now?"

Lumian brought the phone to his mouth, shook his head and said, "It's too late, the matter is already over.

"Rushing over now could very likely lead us into a trap set by the enemy.

"Since the matter can't be undone, let's wait until tomorrow, or the day after, until we're sure there's no ambush around Li Keji, then go investigate the situation, find the culprit, and think of ways to remedy this."

"Wise of you, Child of God." Lu Yong'an replied in a formal tone.

At this time, Grimm also responded, expressing the same meaning as Lu Yong'an. Lumian chose to copy and paste what he had said.

After reassuring Grimm, Lumian was about to go back to sleep when he suddenly saw a new message from Lu Yong'an: "Child of God, I just saw someone standing outside the hospital from my window."

"Who?" Lumian understood that the reason Lu Yong'an mentioned this must be because she recognized the person, or they were very important.

After a few seconds, Lu Yong'an replied: "It's Zhou Mingrui."

Zhou Mingrui? Such a strong initiative, only learning about the Oracle's corpse appearing in Mushu Hospital's underground morgue during the day, and wanting to sneak in to investigate at night? Isn't this too rash? Or is it just a preliminary observation? Lumian became fully alert, all traces of sleepiness gone.

He brought the phone to his mouth again and used voice input to say: "Don't worry about it for now, notify me when Zhou Mingrui enters the hospital."

Outside Mushu Hospital, Zhou Mingrui, still wearing a sky-blue T-shirt, pretended to make a phone call while casually surveying his surroundings, focusing on the emergency center.

After learning about Da Nizi's death and confirming the relevant details through public reports, Zhou Mingrui felt that Mushu Hospital seemed to have significant issues, especially the underground morgue.

So, when night fell deeper, he took a taxi here, planning to pretend to seek emergency treatment while actually taking a tour of Mushu Hospital to see if he could discover anything.

He hadn't planned to investigate the underground morgue today; he didn't want to take potentially significant risks before gathering sufficient information.

While saying words like "okay," "no problem," "alright," "can do," and "that's it," Zhou Mingrui's gaze swept across the emergency center, across the patients and family members coming and going, but he couldn't see anything unusual.

This wasn't actually his first time at Mushu Hospital. He had come for treatment twice before, as it was one of the closest hospitals to Intis Group and his residence. It had only been open for a few years, so whether for emergency or outpatient services, there weren't many people, no need to queue for long, and no worries about not being able to make appointments online.

The district-level hospital closer to his residence, he felt, wasn't very reliable, while the other well-established hospitals were always overcrowded.

The only difference from last time is that Mushu Hospital's reputation is growing, and more people are coming for treatment… It's a good thing I recovered midway from having some health issues after listening to heavy metal and was thinking of coming here for treatment because there weren't many people… Zhou Mingrui recalled his experience of seeking emergency treatment half a year ago, as well as the incident a few weeks ago when he took sick leave to come to Mushu Hospital, but his illness got better before he even reached his destination.

Thinking of this, he suddenly had a realization.

That sick leave made me miss the formal meeting with Zaratulstra…

And I didn't actually enter Mushu Hospital…

My hearing that song 'Advance' wasn't a coincidence, the melody and sound of that song were mixed with mystical powers?

Does this mean that Zaratulstra and Mushu Hospital really have issues?

But when I came half a year ago, nothing happened, I didn't notice anything unusual…

Are the problems at Mushu Hospital gradually worsening?

As Zhou Mingrui muttered to himself, his gaze moved up from the emergency center to the entire building.

Suddenly, he heard his own heartbeat.

Thump!

Thump!

Zhou Mingrui inexplicably felt fear, making his heart feel as if it had been violently squeezed by an invisible hand, uncontrollably speeding up its beating.

Thump!

Thump!

He felt as if something he feared and dreaded most was hidden in that building, as if it were the source of his fear.

There really is a problem… Zhou Mingrui's pupils rapidly dilated.

Half a year ago, he had also come for emergency treatment at night, and had also looked at Mushu Hospital's main building, but at that time he didn't have any feeling that terrifying things were hiding inside.

Zhou Mingrui steadied himself, closed his eyes, and regulated his breathing.

When his heartbeat calmed down, he looked at the Mushu Hospital building again.

Thump!

Thump!

He once again experienced a sudden burst of fear, instinctively believing that deep inside Mushu Hospital were things he didn't want to face and was afraid to encounter.

Zhou Mingrui subconsciously wanted to turn and leave, but ultimately endured.

Just do a preliminary observation, just do a preliminary observation…

Avoiding won't solve the problem, avoiding won't solve the problem…

As he muttered to himself, Zhou Mingrui's right palm, not holding the phone, naturally hung down, clenching and unclenching, unclenching and clenching.

After about ten seconds, he hung up the phone, took a step forward, and walked towards the entrance of the emergency center.

In Room 2303 of Dechuang Garden.

After Franca and Jenna fell asleep, they quickly gained lucidity.

This was something that inevitably happened when Beyonders entered Luo Shan's Shaman world, and neither of them was surprised.

But in the next second, what met their eyes was not the frozen storm, wandering Astral Projections, and semi-transparent barriers, but a dimly lit corridor.

The walls of the corridor were painted white, giving off a slight green tinge under the dim light.

"Where is this?" Franca blurted out in astonishment.

Where has Luo Shan's Shaman world gone?

Amidst her surprise, Jenna thought of a possibility. "Could something have happened to Luo Shan? Because of confirming that Huang Jiajia and others were more fake?"

That would make Luo Shan further face the fact that this was a dream.

"But didn't Anthony say that Luo Shan's emotions had stabilized to some extent?

"Did she experience some shock after going home?" Franca responded with confusion.

"Anyway, let's find Luo Shan first. This might be the Shaman world after some change." Jenna looked around and concentrated on listening.

Faced with a situation different from usual, Franca instinctively put her hand into her Traveler's Bag, preparing to take out her Beyonder items.

Suddenly, she paused. "No, that's not right!"

Seeing Jenna turn her gaze towards her, Franca said with a serious expression,

"The Traveler's Bag is still here, and the items inside are still there."

Jenna's gaze instantly froze, understanding what Franca meant: Only Astral ProjectionS could enter Luo Shan's Shaman world to fight monsters, and Astral Projections obviously wouldn't carry a Traveler's Bag and corresponding items. Even if they did, it would only be something conjured by the dream, with no actual ability!

"This isn't Luo Shan's Shaman world? What exactly have we encountered?" Jenna furrowed her brow.

She tried to leave this place through Cogitation, to make her Astral Projection return to her body.

But this had no effect.

"We're not Astral Projections on an excursion, entering Luo Shan's dream or Shaman world. We've been directly transferred to this place," Franca gave her conclusion, "How is this possible? I didn't feel anything at all…"

Just as she finished speaking, she suddenly heard Luo Shan's voice coming from a room ahead.

"No, no, I refuse!"

A few seconds later, the door of that room was pulled open, and Luo Shan, wearing pajamas, rushed out.

Luo Shan saw Franca and Jenna, stopped in her tracks, and asked in surprise, "You're here too?"

Franca and Jenna first lowered their heads, examining their own clothes, finding that they were both wearing nightgowns, then Franca addressed Luo Shan, "Where is this? Why shouldn't we be here?"

"This is my dream… Did I dream about you?" Luo Shan looked bewildered and confused.

Franca and Jenna exchanged a glance, then carefully asked, "What did you dream about?"

"I dreamed that someone was whispering strange words in my ear, and I dreamed of many fragmented scenes. There was a pregnant woman with a big belly, it seemed like the flesh on her face and one eyeball had been clawed off, with head-like lumps growing on both sides of her shoulders. There was also a man whose heart had been dug out, and the cries of infants…

"Finally, I dreamed of this corridor, dreamed that I was in a room, and a voice told me…" Luo Shan suddenly stopped as she recalled her dream.

"Told you what?" Jenna pressed.

Luo Shan hesitated for a few seconds before saying, "It said, said it could help me masquerade as the genuine article, replace the me outside, so that even if the dream shatters, I could live on truly…

"I-I couldn't accept that, how could I, how could I harm an innocent person?"

Hearing Luo Shan's words, Franca and Jenna's pupils dilated simultaneously.

The former swallowed hard and asked, "Do you remember the strange words at the beginning of the dream?"

Luo Shan tried her best to recall. "It seemed, seemed to be 'Truth can become false, falsehood can become true. The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings…'"

At this moment, Jenna and Franca both seemed to turn into statues.

Franca suddenly "woke up" and said in a deep voice, "Quickly, let's confirm where this place is!"

"Isn't this my dream…" Luo Shan said softly.

"Are you usually this lucid in your dreams?" Jenna asked rhetorically while looking for identifiable signs.

"That's true…" As Luo Shan muttered in confusion, Franca and Jenna simultaneously discovered a bulletin board on the wall ahead.

The two strode forward, rushing over, and with the help of the dim light, they immediately saw large characters in a certain part of the bulletin board: "Mushu Hospital."

    (125) Chapter 1009: Boon

Tin Hong residence, in a rented room.

After discussing the results with Franca and informing Anthony, as well as advising him to probe Peng Deng before handing Ludwig over to Franca later, Lumian lay on the bed.

He closed his eyes and entered a state of meditation, where in his mind he circled around a phantom of himself. Then, he imagined himself leaping outward from an extremely high place, rapidly descending as if in free fall.

In this state, the sound of wind roared in his ears.

However, he did not immediately leave the dream. Vaguely, he could hear people talking in the wind, with voices coming from different directions.

At this moment, Lumian seemed to have returned to the village of Cordu, back to a warm summer afternoon, where he lay drowsily on a pile of hay. Nearby, some elderly women gathered together, picking lice from each other while gossiping about the various rumors in the village. Occasionally, children ran around, disturbing the farmers who had returned early to the village, while members of the priest’s family passed by aggressively.

Lumian opened his eyes, and it seemed he could still smell the faint scent of grass mixed with sheep manure.

He exhaled, then got off the bed, left the room, and went downstairs to the luxurious first floor of the villa. Miss Justice, Madam Magician, and Madam Judgment were all in the living room.

"Is there important information?" Miss Justice understood that unless something critical had happened, Lumian would not have voluntarily left the dream.

She hadn’t noticed that the current, real dream had a strong resistance to Lumian, meaning he wasn’t forcibly expelled from the dream.

"Yes," Lumian sat down on a single sofa. "This needs to start from Franca seeing a psychological trauma in the underground area of the Mushu Hospital."

Miss Justice" looked at Lumian for a few seconds:

"First, tell me how you saved Two of Cups. Seven of Cups was expelled from the dream too early, so we don’t know much."

Lumian smiled and said, "I used Corpse Wax Candle."

"You completed a secret contract ritual and received feedback?" Madam Magician had already guessed what had happened from the changes in Lumian's physical state and the reaction in the Fourth Epoch Trier. Now she was just confirming it.

Lumian described everything he had witnessed during the secret contract ritual, and finally said:

"The remnants of the Blood Emperor's aura underwent significant changes, and it also partially fused with the Daoist's Seal. It seems there's more on my body, but I haven't noticed it."

While speaking, he revealed his pale palm, where ancient blood spots were faintly hidden under the skin.

Madam Magician gently nodded, and deep in her eyes, countless bright stars appeared, slowly rotating.

After two or three seconds, she said with a tone of joy: "I don't know if I should say you're lucky or unfortunate.

"That terrifying will not only watches over you but has also granted you power.

"But due to the lack of the necessary ritual and the presence of the Daoist's' Seal, that power has fused with the remnants of the Blood Emperor’s aura and is sealed. You can't use it, otherwise, you would have already become a War Bishop or something else.

"Even though the power is sealed, it still has a slight influence on you. For instance, the fragmented souls of the villagers from Cordu, which I sealed, have undergone some abnormal changes, preparing to become your 'soldiers.'"

"No wonder I vaguely heard people 'talking' when I left the dream earlier," Lumian realized.

"Within you lies a new source of power," Madam Magician continued:

"That power itself doesn’t inherently carry a latent disaster. I can't see anything at the moment, but when it merges with the remaining aura of the Blood Emperor, it will inevitably bring latent disaster, becoming even more active."

After saying this, Madam Magician paused briefly:

"Additionally, with the Omebella bloodline in your body, if the Daoist hadn't sealed it, I suspect you might have felt pregnant, unable to terminate it, and given birth to a deeply polluted, mutated version of Alista Tudor."

"Then shouldn't the Blood Emperor be calling me 'dad'?" Lumian, in his Demoness of Despair form, laughed.

"He would call you 'mother,'" corrected Madam Magician.

Lumian didn’t continue with this topic and instead began explaining how he entered the vortex, how he took advantage of the lightning to open the passage and rescue Franca.

"It seems our efforts were not in vain," Miss Justice smiled with relief.

"Does that incantation relate to that deity?" Lumian asked.

Miss Justice responded with a thoughtful sound:

"The Lord of Storms. This is His true name. You shouldn’t casually repeat it. Lightning strikes are broad and indiscriminate, moreover, Mr. Fool's incarnation induced lightning, subconsciously recognizing that this particular incantation summoned extraordinarily terrifying lightning, with extreme destructive power."

A god's true name within an incantation? And Mr. Fool's incarnation could provoke lightning even more than me, the "Provoker"? Lumian nodded slightly.

He remained silent for two seconds and then said:

"At that time, I was ready for the consequences of the collapse of my ritual and the loss of control, even for death. My only thought was to quickly open the Abyss passage or destroy that illusory Abyss."

"That might not have been enough, so I sent Jenna and Luo Shan to bring Zhou Mingrui, who was being treated at the Mushu Hospital, to the underground area to see if his presence could help. I don’t know if this will result in something good or in a worse change. I can't predict how high the odds of compensation are if something goes wrong, but that wasn’t the most important thing at the time."

As Lumian, in his form, slightly lifted his chin, Miss Justice, Madam Magician and Madam Judgment all fell silent. Lumian smiled warmly and continued:

"If that truly brings about a destructive outcome, and you notice it, you could just kill me in the real world to prevent everything from happening."

"Death is fine. Dead means not knowing anything, not caring about anything."

Miss Justice, Madam Magician and Madam Judgment exchanged glances, sighed, and revealed warm, calm smiles:

"I don’t agree with your approach, but I’m glad to see you have your own thoughts and choices."

Madam Magician also sighed and said:

"If a similar situation arises again, you could try chanting my name. The fragments of soul power sealed in your body come from me. I can use them as a medium, form a connection by calling my name, and exert some influence, though I can’t guarantee success.

"Also, if you’re willing to forever be cast out, never able to return to the Dream City, I can provide you with an even better incantation."

Lumian’s tense back slightly relaxed, and his chin lowered. He curiously asked:

    "What are you talking about?"

"The name of the deputy chief is Yagates. Madam Magician smiled, "This chant has no effect outside the Dreamscape; it may even cause those who chant it unknowingly to become Celestial Worthy marionette, but in the Dreamscape, the chant can lead to a focused gaze, opening any passage. However, the essence of the deputy chief is a mixture of the 'remaining spirit of the master' and the subconscious of the Dreamscape, creating an image with special symbolism. Your movements may be influenced by the Celestial Worthy, but relatively speaking, compared to chanting Mr. Fool name, this disturbance is much smaller."

"It can be like that..." Lumian said thoughtfully, "Have we perhaps been too rigidly adhering to the rules outside the Dreamscape? Always trying to play the role of the extraordinary citizens... Remember, you are just acting; the essence of that place is the Dreamscape..."

    "Madam Magician laughed and said,

"We have also considered this issue. The method of chanting the deputy chief's name is something I came up with. However, when looking for loopholes in the rules, you should not casually disrupt the rules; otherwise, ha ha, there are too many bloody lessons ahead, and I won’t cite examples for each one."

Lumian nodded, adjusting his state, and within the psychological trauma of Franca at the depths of the Illusory Abyss, he observed the image, making careful guesses and expressing the issues he discovered.

    In the end, he said:

"Franca realized that Mr. Fool is a transmigrator. After this point, she discovered that she had not previously noticed names like Sherlock, Moriarty, Merlin, and Hermes. Logically, she should have been able to deduce that Mr. Fool was like her, also a transmigrator. However, she would guess that they came from another world.

"In the Dreamscape, many of our thoughts seem to be limited; unconsciously, we overlook certain matters, such as An Xiaotian's question or the evidence that Mr. Fool is a transmigrator. This possibility is likely due to the influence of the Celestial Worthy’s will, creating a deceptive effect.

"And He tries to make us overlook it, significantly hiding the correct direction." Miss Justice listened attentively, her expression first showing a bit of surprise and astonishment, but very quickly turning to comfort and nostalgia.

"Madam Magician and Madam Judgment reacted similarly.

When Lumian finished his narration, Miss Justice emerald eyes flickered as she recalled and said:

"You don't know what the first situation was when we saw Mr. Fool, how he came, and what kind of expressions he had afterward. So you can’t possibly understand why we considered Mr. Fool might be a transcendent being, why we didn`t realize he was just an ordinary person growing step by step in that direction..."

"After the Cordu disaster, I vaguely felt that there might be such a possibility," Madam Magician added.

Miss Justice's expression became extremely gentle, her face displaying more smiles:

"To do so many things as a mortal body to this extent, to resist the Celestial Worthy with true humanity, I, I respect Mr. Fool even more, and, I feel even more heartbroken..."

    Lumian curiously asked:

"What kind of things has Mr. Fool done?"

He realized that Mr. Fool had become even closer; this great being had once been human and was still a 'hometown person' with Aurore.

And Lumian only knew about the matters related to Gehrman Sparrow, as well as the teachings of the Sacred Canon.

"We can certainly tell you a lot, but first, let’s exchange thoughts about the key issues you've discovered."

Miss Justice said with a smile.

    (124) Chapter 1008: Dawn

Lumian relaxed as he understood Franca's meaning:

The Dream City itself is based on Zhou Mingrui's past memories before his "transmigration." However, despite Zhou Mingrui's proximity to certain important elements in the Dream City, none of the key figures there originate from before his "transmigration." All of them come from his experiences after transmigration, except for Peng Dang and Zhang Yujia.

    This is clearly problematic!

"We previously thought that Mr. Fool was recovering and not originally from this era—a great existence not belonging to this time," Franca said, pausing briefly. "Well, he's certainly not from this era. Mr. Fool was quite honest." Franca suddenly grasped the true meaning behind some of the Mr. Fool’s titles.

After adjusting her mindset, she continued:

"From what we've previously understood, it makes sense that none of the figures in the Dream City relate to Zhou Mingrui's identity. As a once-great existence, he's connected to other significant figures and ancient gods. These are limited, which prevents them from truly approaching Zhou Mingrui. At the time, we were wondering who Peng Dang was and his real-world counterpart, but we never considered that he might genuinely be Zhou Mingrui's close friend.

"If Zhou Mingrui, like me, is a transmigrator, then he's gradually becoming a great existence. It's extraordinary—transcending gods as a mere mortal and becoming the ruler of the spirit world."

At this point, Franca's inner wounds ached again, like a splinter driven deep into her heart.

She was reminded that even a figure as powerful as the Mr. Fool was shocked, grief-stricken, and filled with despair when discovering the truth of transmigration worlds. Becoming a great existence still didn’t allow him to return to his homeland. After he fell asleep, the corresponding events even cast a psychological trauma.

If Mr. Fool felt this way, how could others like her or Lumian feel any differently?

Lumian could guess what Franca was currently thinking, and why she had paused, because he had similar thoughts. His own deep emotions resonated in the same way.

After a moment of silence, Franca gathered herself and continued:

"If Zhou Mingrui is truly a transmigrator who used to be a normal person, then where are his parents, relatives, classmates, friends, and the people who were close to him?"

Lumian glanced at the photos, sketches, and notes stuck on the board and pondered aloud: "In the dream, Zhou Mingrui has parents, but they don’t live in Yang Du. They reside in a hometown that only exists in description. Zhou Mingrui barely interacts with them, mostly communicating through Zhou Benson, who conveys his greetings. Moreover, the parents in the Dream are clearly based on Klein Moretti's parents.

"Similarly, Zhou Benson and his sister Shou Sasa are reflections of Klein Moretti's siblings—his brother Benson Moretti and sister Melissa Moretti."

"Beyond that, the friends, classmates, and other people in Zhou Mingrui’s life—aside from Peng Dang and Zhang Yujia—are likely fictional as well."

Zhang Yujia was a mutual friend of Zhou Mingrui and Peng Dang from both middle and high school, and she worked in Yang Du. She came from a well-off family and frequently traveled, currently visiting so-called Europe. In the Major Arcana cards' memories, Zhang Yujia never played a direct role. If she didn’t occasionally send postcards or chat online with Zhou Mingrui and Peng Dang, she could almost be treated as a background character like Zhou Mingrui’s parents.

Franca nodded in agreement. "So, there are two questions now:

"One, why is Zhou Mingrui’s real-life network of connections missing? Did the Mr. Fool deliberately hide them, or is it the work of the Celestial Worthy? If it's the former, why would he conceal them—could that be a crucial detail? If it’s the latter, does that mean the Celestial Worthy is wary of something?

"Two, if none of the other real-life characters related to Zhou Mingrui appear in Dream City, then Peng Dang and Zhang Yujia’s presence is highly suspicious. Adding to this, we saw Peng Dang and Grisha at the emergency center, which makes me think we should focus more on Peng Dang."

Lumian put himself in the Mr. Fool’s shoes and thought for a moment before speaking:

"If I were the Mr. Fool, and this Dream City was the battlefield where I fought against the Celestial Worthy, I would instinctively not want my real parents, relatives, or friends to be dragged into it—even if they were just dream figures based on my memories."

"From Zhou Mingrui and Klein Moretti’s merged understanding, Benson and Melissa's counterparts shouldn’t even appear here," Franca added as she joined the mental storm.

Lumian smiled and said, "Who said they were woven from the Mr. Fool’s subconscious? What if the Celestial Worthy deliberately created them?"

"The Celestial Worthy knows the Mr. Fool’s experiences after transmigration, but can't probe into his connections from before?" Franca speculated based on Lumian’s words. "So, Benson, Melissa, and Danitz’s Dream counterparts had to exist, but were placed outside of Dream City or made to have only shallow relationships with Zhou Mingrui. This could be an unconscious protection against the Celestial Worthy, a result of the Mr. Fool’s struggle with him."

    Lumian nodded.

"If the Celestial Worthy truly can’t see the Mr. Fool’s core consciousness and memories from before his transmigration, does that mean he hasn’t fully corrupted or eroded him yet?"

"Mm." Franca suddenly had a flash of insight. "I understand now why Sia Tas became Zhou Mingrui's roommate."

She stood up and paced slowly near the window as she spoke:

"Earlier, we suspected that the elves might be transmigrators too, but now it seems like they’re actually descendants of the Western Continent's bloodline survivors on the Northern and Southern Continents and the Five Seas.

"To the Mr. Fool, they’re like fellow countrymen, so they share a close bond."

Franca continued explaining her theories, increasingly convinced that her interpretation of these symbols was correct.

She then shifted her thoughts and said:

"Our 'Curly-Haired Baboons Research Society' records indicate that we crossed into this world in the year 1352, seven years ago. The Major Arcana data shows that Mr. Fool also fell into his slumber in 1352.

"Did Mr. Fool’s battle with the Celestial Worthy release us all from the 'cocoon' at that time?"

    "Seems that way," Lumian agreed.

He then stood up as well, deep in thought, and said, "Let’s leave the matter of Peng Dang to Anthony. He can handle the investigation more aggressively.

"If we can figure out who Peng Dang really is and what he represents, we might find a way to weaken the Celestial Worthy and awaken the Mr. Fool."

Lumian paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. "And if our previous discussion was mostly accurate, then Zhou Sasa’s arrival in Yang Du for college might carry significant symbolic meaning—not a good sign for the Mr. Fool."

By all accounts, Zhou Sasa should’ve stayed outside Dream City and not been dragged into this "battlefield." Franca was taken aback.

    "When is Zhou Sasa arriving?"

"Wednesday," Lumian replied, his voice low. "Today is Monday."

Franca gasped. "We need substantial progress on both Peng Dang and An Xiaotian before Zhou Sasa arrives in Yang Du!"

    Lumian nodded gently, "Agreed."

The two continued their intense discussion for quite some time.

"In the morning, you'll exit the Dream and return to reality. Gather more detailed intelligence on the Ancient Sun God and the Aurora Orden. If Grisha was at the emergency center, and Anthony gets scared off by illusions after contacting Peng Dang, I suspect there’s a connection between Peng Dang and the Ancient Sun God. But we lack enough intel to make a solid judgment. Also, don't forget to ask Madam Magician check your physical condition," Franca instructed Lumian.

    Lumian smiled and replied: "Alright."

"I'm only worried that not enough people know about the Major Arcana cards, or that there might be some intelligence we currently can't access.

'Then, you’ll move behind the scenes and switch places with Anthony, letting him do the investigation. You shouldn’t show yourself.'

'Got it,' Franca replied, finally breaking away from the intense discussion.

She noticed that, at some point, the window area had lit up. Outside the crystal, the early morning sunlight poured down, casting a golden sheen. The vast empty sky was clearly visible, covering the green leaves of the trees.

Small birds chirped as they flew past, occasionally letting out a sound, relaxing and soothing.

    Morning had come.

The sun had risen. Daylight had arrived.

Franca gazed in amazement at the early morning scene, almost silently muttering, 'So beautiful.'

The sunlight passed through the crystal, shining on both her and Lumian, as if some great being was gently comforting their souls.

After Lumian returned to residence to report to Anthony about investigating the situation with Peng Deng, Franca took the elevator to the 23rd floor and entered the apartment she and Jenna rented.

As soon as she opened the door, she saw Jenna already awake, busy getting herself ready. 'So early?' Franca blurted out.

'It’s not early. I have to seriously do my makeup. I need to stop by the company today, and who knows, maybe a film crew will notice me,' Dream image of Jenna said without even turning around.

Oh, right. Today is Monday, and Jenna has to go to Hall Film Company... But she’s in her Dream form now. I wonder if there will be any mistakes... Franca couldn’t help but feel a bit concerned.

At that moment, Dream Jenna entered the bathroom, and a still-sleepy Luo Shan came out of the bedroom.

Seeing Luo Fu, she greeted her:

    'Nothing happened, right?'

She assumed Luo Fu and Lumina had spent the night at her place to confirm whether any hidden dangers remained.

'Everything’s normal, for now,' Franca said, half-reassuring and half-stating the truth. She immediately told Luo Shan:

    'I want to resign.'

'Huh?' Luo Shan was a bit taken aback. Franca smiled gently:

'I need to move behind the scenes because if I get kicked out of the Dream, I’ll learn what it means to truly die.'

Luo Shan suddenly recalled the conversation she overheard last night between Luo Fu and Jenna, words she couldn’t quite understand at the time but now made sense.

She suddenly felt a sense of not being alone anymore and, with a smile, said, 'I’m almost there too.'

Without the Dream, I too will disappear."

I can clearly see that Adam is guiding them. He uses them to stimulate Klein to realize what is happening. Digesting the Despair potion is calculated to cause Frank to bestow Despair on Mr. Fool. By stimulating this emotion, fear will cause him to wake up. Let's remember what happened in the Forgotten Land of the Gods at the end of the last book. When Klein looked at Adam. There was already a tacit agreement back then. He may have even created humanity for many of Klein's spirit worms, allowing for greater control over the Dream.

This is related to the moment of being in the Sea of Chaos. I have two guesses about what was there. First, after he fell into the Sea of Chaos in the Pre-First Age, he was in stasis. After the death of the Almighty and Omniscient God, he, the Ancient God of the Sun, was in a state of sleep from the end of the First Era until the exit from Chernobyl. Considering that he already knew how to use his powers and the Blasphemy Board.

regarding Grisha in China - these are obvious only for Klein's contemporaries.
Which of them saw the Fool's dream? Before Frankie, only Night and possibly Adam (the old sun) visited Mr. Fool's dream. They knew. The club didn't. For the club, with their understanding of the situation, this is normal.
Why Night is silent is a big question. Maybe there are problems there. Or maybe there are problems with her. She resists external bastards and simultaneously absorbs death and the giant.

    (123) Chapter 1007: Important Information

Upon hearing Franca's words, Lumian felt somewhat in agreement:

"If that dream in Cordu village didn’t have hidden dangers, I wouldn't want to wake up either..."

As he reached this point, he suddenly stopped and then, with a low voice, said:

"No, I would force myself to wake up."

If he remained unconscious, there would be no way to attempt to revive Aurore!

Franca quietly withdrew her gaze, walked over to Luo Shan's living room sofa, sat down, and slumped against the backrest, too tired to hold herself up.

Seeing this, Lumian quickly followed and sat down next to her.

Franca tilted her head to glance at him but said nothing.

After a dozen seconds or so, she stared at the turned-off TV in front of her and, as if talking to herself, said:

"Back at home, the thing I loved most was randomly picking a channel, listening to the sound while playing on my phone. Every time, my mom would scold me for it."

    Lumian remained silent, quietly listening.

    Franca's expression gradually softened:

"My mom used to run a small diner, which later became a restaurant. She had a fiery temper, always rushing around, and couldn't stand seeing me laze around. But in the end, she’d just nag for a bit, and I’d let it go in one ear and out the other. It didn’t bother me at all. Later, when the restaurant business wasn’t doing well for a few years, she just quit. Every day, she’d hang out with her siblings and friends, playing cards, eating here and there, and sometimes going on little trips. Life was carefree and fun.

"My dad, my brother, and I were pretty happy too. No more scolding, no more nagging. As my dad used to say, we’d see each other once a day, go for a walk together, and chat about family matters before bed. Their relationship got better over time.

"My dad worked as a mid-level manager at a large company and was very into electronics from an early age. He started with radios and later got into computers and games. When I was little, I couldn't understand why he always sat in front of his computer, claiming it was for work but really just playing with weird things. As I grew older, I also started loving games. I guess that hobby rubbed off on me.

"My parents wanted another daughter, so they saved up money and prepared a room, but to their surprise, they had another son. They couldn’t bear to abort him, so they had him anyway. And people say that second-borns are usually more considerate, more obedient, and have higher emotional intelligence because they have an older sibling setting an example, right? But that little rascal turned out the opposite. He was rebellious, thinking he was super cool, always causing trouble.

"When he was in elementary school, he got into a fight and came crying to me, his big sister, for help. But the other kid had a cousin, and a cousin's cousin, and I ended up getting beaten up too.

"That got me really into urban fantasy and martial arts novels. I started imagining myself with superpowers or some kind of martial arts skills.

"I did pretty well in my college entrance exams and got into medical school. I got along well with my roommates, and they all praised my good nature, saying I was easy-going, generous, and optimistic. I wasn’t stingy with money either.

"I wasn’t bad-looking, and there were girls who pursued me, but at that time, I was too busy playing around, going to Anime conventions, and didn’t have time for relationships. Of course, it also helped that they weren’t exactly my type."

Franca paused her rambling and said:

"Other than worrying about the future of a tiring job, I don't have any regrets and don't really want to change anything..."

Lumian turned his head to look at Franca and saw that, slumped on the couch, her eyes were unfocused, and silent tears were streaming down her face.

Lumian didn’t try to console Franca with words. Instead, he quietly extended his left arm and placed it gently around her shoulder, letting her lean against him.

Franca instinctively struggled a bit, but quickly gave in.

After resting against Lumian, she quietly continued:

"My original plan was to borrow my mom’s car, improve my driving skills, and go to Shanghai to meet some online friends, maybe have some fun there...

"I also planned to buy a few games, visit my grandparents, and, if I had the time, play games with my dad for a couple of hours each day to show him what real skill is...

"I even had plans to teach that rascal brother of mine a lesson, visit the place where my mom plays cards, and be the perfect daughter for a few days—serve tea, get praised..."

As Franca spoke, her voice gradually grew softer until it disappeared.

Lumian waited a few minutes before lowering his head and saw that Franca had fallen fast asleep, leaning against his shoulder. At some point, her legs had slipped off the couch.

Without moving, Lumian stared at the black TV screen, and his thoughts began to drift.

After some time, Franca suddenly opened her eyes wide, startled from a nightmare, and straightened up abruptly.

She glanced around and, after a moment, remembered what had happened the night before.

    Sighing slowly, she asked Lumian:

    "What time is it?"

"It's past four in the morning, not yet five," Lumian calmly replied.

Franca nodded, and then, as if recalling something, asked:

"Do you think Jenna and Luo Shan might run into trouble waiting alone in Room 2303?"

At the moment, Jenna was merely a Dreamscape figure, and Luo Shan was being targeted by unknown forces!

"I’ve been using a mirror to monitor the situation in Room 2303," Lumian said lightly.

Only then did Franca feel reassured.

She twisted her shoulders, shrugging off Lumian’s arm and sitting up straight:

"Ugh, I actually cried earlier, and you saw it... A real man doesn’t cry!"

"They just haven’t been hurt enough yet," Lumian replied.

Hearing this, Franca and Lumian fell silent at the same time.

    Ouch.

"That was pretty harsh…" Franca muttered after a few seconds. "And yet, you still managed to keep up with the conversation."

"Knowing the truth behind it all, and after connecting with your emotions, Aurore's soul fragments seem to have become a bit more active..." Lumian said with a hint of joy in his voice.

Franca bit her lip, unable to respond.

She immediately rubbed her face and said:

"I can’t stay in that state any longer. We need to get down to business!"

    "What business?" Lumian asked.

After a few seconds of thinking, Franca said:

"According to what you said earlier, everything that happened tonight seemed premeditated. It’s likely that Peng Deng and their roommate Grisha were orchestrating it from behind the scenes.

"If that’s true, what do they want to achieve? It can’t just be to force me to advance in the Dreamscape and give me the opportunity to quickly digest the Despair potion, right?

"Are they doing a good deed?"

Lumian understood that Franca was using work to distract herself and ease her inner sorrow and despair, so he cooperated by nodding and saying:

"From Luo Shan’s reports, it doesn’t seem like Zhou Mingrui was overly affected by all of this. He only confirmed that he has some unique traits and that there’s a big problem with the underground area of the Mushu Hospital.

"The Illusory Abyss below the hospital quickly hid itself, avoiding Zhou Mingrui almost perfectly and remaining unharmed.

"Could the real goal have been for me to use the candle made from corpse oil and complete a pact in the hospital’s underground?

"Or did they want us to use the psychological traumas in the hospital’s underground to uncover important information?"

    Franca slowly nodded and said:

"Right, I can almost confirm something now:

"Mr. Fool are also transmigrators, just like me and Emperor Roselle."

She suddenly gave a mocking laugh:

"No, not transmigrators, but people from ancient times."

"You’re saying those three empty 'cocoons' represent the three transmigrators from before?" Lumian understood what Franca was hinting at.

"Yes, the Ancient Sun God, Emperor Roselle, and Mr. Fool," Franca explained. "Mr. Fool must have started as a mortal and gradually ascended to God, just like Klein Moretti, Sherlock Moriarty, and Gehrman Sparrow. These names probably came from ancient works of fiction, such as Utopia."

"Well, Gehrman Sparrow, this identity, has become an Angel of Redemption, someone to be believed in, someone to be worshiped, and this might be vastly different from other identities."

    Lumian thoughtfully said:

"Is Zhou Mingrui the real name of Mr. Fool before he transmigrated to this world?"

"It seems so," Franca speculated, "So, Zhou Mingrui is the core of the Dreamscape.

It is Mr. Fool's subconscious that assumes this identity. All the crucial figures in the Dreamscape revolve around him, while identities like Sherlock Moriarty are scattered throughout the Dreamscape city without enough significance.

The only notable difference is that a large number of people believe in Gehrman Sparrow. Originally, the Dreamscape city didn't have this image. There wasn't even a story; everything was created from nothing by the Madam Magician and Miss Justice, turning him into a classic character."

"This also explains why the 'World' Gehrman Sparrow certainly carries a special symbolic meaning."

    Lumian, after some thought, said:

"Klein Moretti's identity is also extremely special. It doesn’t exist in the Dreamscape city."

Franca, trying to place herself in the situation, slowly said:

"Klein Moretti’s counterpart characters in the Dreamscape city exist, but they are only directed toward Zhou Mingrui.

"Klein Moretti was the first identity that Mr. Fool adopted after transmigration, which he agreed with, and both merged in self-recognition?"

"So, Zhou Mingrui is also Klein Moretti, and Klein Moretti is likewise Zhou Mingrui. There is no distinction between them."

"That explanation does make sense," Lumian agreed with Franca's speculation.

At that moment, Franca suddenly furrowed her brow:

"Bring that out and compare it with the blank observation form of the key figures in the Dreamscape city."

Lumian, without asking why, took out the whiteboard formed from condensed frost and placed it on the coffee table in front of them.

Franca glanced over the photos, sketches, descriptions, and observation results on the whiteboard, her eyes constantly shifting back and forth.

After a moment, she said in a heavy tone:

"If Mr. Fool is truly someone who transmigrated, then these Dreamscape figures hide a major issue."

Without waiting for Lumian to respond, Franca explained on her own:

"Excluding Peng Deng and the minor character Zhen, who only sends postcards, all the key figures in the Dreamscape have nothing to do with Zhou Mingrui.

"They all come from Klein Moretti, from Sherlock Moriarty, from Gehrman Sparrow, and other identities of Mr. Fool, from this current world. None originate from before the transmigration. None are from the ancient times!

    "Why is that?"

I guess they haven't figured out the part where CW is trying to take the divine identity of Zhou Mingrui. Through the dreamscape where dreams are reality, CW could, in theory, fool or steal Klein's fate and take Mr. Fool's identity. Everyone in the dreamscape has ties to Mr. Fool, some even more so representing as his anchors.

The TC's approach to make Mr. World's dreamscape identity inclining to their faction was definitely in the right track.
