Chapter 990: True Commonality

990 True Commonality

Lumian's initial feeling was that Li Keji had noticed the difference between Queen of Stars Cattleya and Huang Jiajia, but after careful consideration, he overturned this guess.

This was because Li Keji said his other colleagues also seemed to have become different people, and it was unlikely that they had all been occupied and used by external consciousnesses.

"Why do you feel this way?" he asked Li Keji.

Li Keji stroked his belly and said, "The previous ones ate the mushrooms I sent, but the current ones haven't!"

The current ones haven't? Does this mean they've been replaced? Lumian's thoughts raced as he carefully asked, "What about Bernie Huang? Have you seen her recently, and is she different from before?"

"I've seen her, but I don't know if there's been any change. She never ate the mushrooms I sent before," Li Keji answered honestly.

In other words, Li Keji can't distinguish the difference between external consciousnesses and dream manifestations, nor does he have the observational ability to do so. However, he can determine whether the person in front of him has eaten the mushrooms he created… Taken together, did he mean that Huang Jiajia and others at Star Tutoring Classes had eaten them before, leaving corresponding traces, but recently they hadn't? Had Huang Jiajia and the others been replaced? Lumian had already been surprised when he heard Li Keji say that Huang Jiajia and the others seemed to have become different people, but now he felt more confused and alert.

He was currently inclined to believe Li Keji's statement, thinking that the Mushroom King, who was confined to the psychiatric ward and hadn't yet given birth, had not been completely corrupted and wouldn't be experiencing hallucinations or have his personality twisted to enjoy lying. Moreover, in the dream city, based on Mr. Fool's subconscious cognition, Li Keji had a certain uniqueness and could indeed possibly discover anomalies.

Who replaced Huang Jiajia and the others? Why replace them? Lumian pondered these questions.

Suddenly, he thought of one person: Zaratulstra!

When Lumian first discovered that Zaratulstra had visited Star Tutoring Classes, his initial reaction was that this Angel wanted to do something to the dream manifestation of Ma'am Hermit. But later, as events unfolded with Li Keji being arrested and sent to the psychiatric ward, this led him to overturn his original suspicions and stop thinking in that direction.

Now, the new discovery made him reconsider his earliest guess.

Zaratulstra likes to exert force on both overt and covert lines simultaneously. On the surface, he was helping the Great Mother control Li Keji and eliminating the hidden dangers brought by mushrooms, while secretly taking advantage of opportunities like visits to target Huang Jiajia and other teachers at Star Tutoring Classes, replacing these dream manifestations? The benefit of doing this would be that the attention of covert saboteurs would be focused on Li Keji's matter, overlooking the key point that Star Tutoring Classes itself was also a target… Lumian only now realized that Zaratulstra's plan was far more extensive than what he and his team had previously analyzed.

Based on this, he believed that Zaratulstra should have chosen the Conspirer pathway rather than being a Seer.

His experience, knowledge, intellect, and style are truly worthy of a real Angel… Lumian inwardly sighed, continuing to question Li Keji, wanting to understand more details.

But apart from knowing whether those colleagues had eaten the mushrooms he gave them, Li Keji shook his head in ignorance to all other questions.

Finally, Lumian could only caution, "You must come up with a plan in these two days, otherwise the minions of the evil god will take action against you again, causing the child to be born in the near future."

This referred to his and Grimm's previous agreement to take action again in a week to help the fetus in Li Keji's body develop rapidly.

"Alright," Li Keji answered, touching his belly.

Lumian looked at him deeply, forming a new idea: After Grimm confirms that Li Keji is truly pregnant and helps the fetus gain growth "momentum" with the help of Mushu Hospital's obstetrics department, I'll secretly return and complete the abortion!

At Xinhong District, in the rented apartment.

Lumian's team gathered again to hear him talk about Li Keji's pregnancy and the suspected replacement of Huang Jiajia and others.

"If we assume the culprit is Zaratulstra or his accomplices, then we can't just look at Star Tutoring Classes for the replacements," Jenna expressed her thoughts. "Doesn't this remind you of anything?"

Franca had a sudden realization. "The death of the Oracle?"

"Yes," Lumian had already connected this incident with the replacement of Huang Jiajia and other Star Tutoring Classes members. "If Anderson hadn't interfered, if we hadn't discovered the Oracle's body in time, he would have definitely been sent to the morgue in Mushu Hospital B1, gaining a 'rebirth'. After that, wouldn't it count as the 'reborn' him replacing the original him?"

"Did Huang Jiajia and the others experience something similar? Was Zaratulstra targeting not just Star Tutoring Classes, but also Dream Tutoring Classes?" The more Franca spoke, the more shocked she became. "On the surface, he was seeking opportunities to contact Zhou Mingrui through visits to Dream Tutoring Classes but secretly he was replacing the teachers at Dream Tutoring Classes? How damn insidious!"

At this point, Franca sincerely sighed.

"Who knows what else Zaratulstra has done in secret, it's probably not just this one thing… Fortunately, we chose to eliminate the hidden danger in advance, kicking Zaratulstra out of the dream and killing His dream manifestation. Otherwise, if His overt stratagem and covert scheme were to be launched simultaneously, both reaching the brink of success, the situation would be unimaginable!

"Perhaps the whole affair would have ended there, with our complete failure as the conclusion."

"Now without the leadership of Zaratulstra and Mr. Cui, their subordinates will find it difficult to consider the overall situation. We can take this opportunity to dismantle the bombs one by one and eliminate the hidden problems," Anthony agreed with Franca's sentiments.

Lumian nodded slightly and solemnly reminded, "This is both good news and bad news.

"I believe you can all see that a Seer is more suited to hiding in the shadows, directing the play, rather than directly stepping onto the stage and exposing themselves to the audience's view.

"Zaratulstra previously needed to advance overt matters to obtain money and resources, to openly contact Zhou Mingrui, so He couldn't hide His identity and stay in the shadows. The same goes for Mr. Cui. This gave us the opportunity to set traps and make good use of the dream rules.

"Once Zaratulstra and Mr. Cui obtain new identities and return, they will surely hide behind the scenes, covertly advancing their own agendas. At that time, the roles of hunter and prey will be reversed. Even if we show just a slight flaw, we will immediately be discovered and face deadly assassination. Once attacked, the best outcome would be the person being kicked out of the dream, with the dream manifestation most likely destroyed."

"Yes, at that time the enemy will be in the dark and I'm in the light, with the danger level skyrocketing," Franca nodded in agreement.

Because of her close relationship with Luo Shan, once Zaratulstra returned and focused the investigation on why Zhou Mingrui went to Shujin Hot Pot Restaurant that day, she could easily be discovered. That's why she said "I'm in the light."

Lumian chuckled in response.

"Of course, this is also an opportunity. You continue working in the administrative department of Intis Group for now. When Zaratulstra returns, see if you can use this to set a trap for Him. If not, you can quickly resign, change your identity, and also hide in the shadows.

"At the same time, we need to make good use of this period before Zaratulstra's return."

As he spoke, Lumian picked up his phone and sent a WeChat message to "A name that leaves a deep impression on you": "How have you been lately? Are you enjoying classes?"

Soon, "A name that leaves a deep impression on you" replied: "Do you want to check what time it is now?

"If you have nothing better to do, I suggest you go out for a run."

Lumian calmly replied: "Do you still feel that the world is fake lately, that there are terrifying fake details in the people around you?"

After about ten seconds, Anderson Hood replied: "It's even more fake than before."

"Such as?" Lumian pressed.

Anderson Hood sent a emoji:

"For example, Ai Nana, Iron Skin, Flowery Bow Tie, and other tutoring center teachers all seem more fake now, different from before."

As expected… Lumian confirmed his team's speculation.

He asked with a emoji: "What about you, have you become more fake?"

Anderson Hood sent "a dog biting its own tail": "I might be next.

"But I recently saw news about a foreign guest being shot dead."

A good Hunter should know how to obtain information from public reports… Lumian put down his phone and said to Franca, Jenna, and the others:

"Most of the teachers at Dream Tutoring Classes have also been replaced."

"What's the significance of this replacement? To make all dream manifestations dominated by the Celestial Worthy, thus gaining victory in the consciousness battle?" Franca raised a question.

Lumian didn't answer, instead using frost to create a white board and sticking notes on it.

Each note had the name of a dream manifestation currently suspected of being replaced, as well as their corresponding real-world person.

Lumian stood in front of the white board, studying it intently for a while before asking Franca, Jenna, and Anthony, "See anything in common?"

"They are or were all pirates?" Jenna tentatively answered.

Lumian shook his head.

"That's the surface commonality.

"There's another common point hidden beneath the surface."

Saying this, he turned to his companions and said, "These are all characters that have appeared in 'The Great Adventurer' series of novels.

"In other words, they are all participants and witnesses of Gehrman Sparrow's life!"

Hearing this conclusion, Franca suddenly thought of the movie "The Great Pirate 3", of Jia Yu who was poached by Zaratulstra for playing Gehrman Sparrow, and of An Xiaotian, the original actor for Gehrman Sparrow who was now in a vegetative state.

"Is the focus of the contest the identity of Gehrman Sparrow? This also fits the prophecy 'The awakening of The World spells The Fool's return'," Franca muttered to herself.

With a nod, Lumian replied, "It seems so for now, which is why these people related to Gehrman Sparrow have all been replaced.

"The Oracle's death was the beginning, not the end."

    (121) Chapter 1005: Investigating Hidden Dangers

Lumian had some guesses about the style of tonight's events, and was prepared to see a certain person or several dream images, but the person who appeared in the emergency center was completely beyond his expectations:

It turned out to be Grisha, Peng Deng's roommate!

The fact that he shared a room with Peng Deng did indicate that he had a certain specialness. We also observed him, but we didn't find out who he corresponded to in reality... Was he the leader of tonight's events? What was his real purpose? Lumian's thoughts were flooding, and he became more and more confused.

He had originally locked the person behind tonight's events as the one who believed in the "Aurora Order", and was just about to take the opportunity to confirm some things, but Grisha did not have the style of "I'm watching, I'm listening, I know", he was eccentric, paranoid, and rude.

"Him?" Franca's reaction was slower than normal, so she leaned over and looked at the picture that Lumian had frozen on the phone screen.

The sudden surprise made her a little more angry.

"Discovering unexpected people is also a kind of gain." Lumian has calmed down.

    "Yeah." Franca didn't say much.

Lumian didn't rush to leave, he took out a cracked makeup mirror and carefully sensed it.

His performance attracted Franca's attention. Franca turned her head to look at him and asked with a little doubt:

    "What are you doing?"

"See if the mirror world has recovered and whether the corresponding broken mirror has evolved a new area behind the mirror." Lumian explained simply, "Luo Shan didn't bring her mobile phone, and I don't have any other extraordinary abilities. I need to send her a message through the mirror world, saying that you are safe, so that she can take Zhou Mingrui out of the underground area.

"There is nothing urgent now. What if Zhou Mingrui really found something?"

Franca was stunned for two seconds: "Zhou Mingrui went to the underground area?

    "Will there be any problem?"

The underground of Mushu Hospital is the product of the combination of the subconscious psychological trauma of dreams and the "Mother Tree of Desire".

The abyss symbol, even if it can't really endanger Zhou Mingrui's safety, it will make him encounter the previous psychological trauma again, awaken the strong stimulation that once existed, and thus bring about obvious changes, and this change is unpredictable, it may be very good or very bad, so the Lumian team did not want Zhou Mingrui to enter the underground of Mushu Hospital at this stage.

Lumian looked at Franca, smiled and said:

"The plan is not as fast as the change. The most important thing just now is to rescue you. Everything else can be considered and made up later. At best, this mission will fail completely and a group of people will come again. At worst, everyone will welcome the end of the world together. We can't let you die here now."

Franca stared at Lumian for a few seconds and couldn't say anything. After a while, she retracted her gaze and sighed:

"Some things may never be made up for..."

Hearing this sigh and these words, Lumian finally felt that Franca had come back to life from the deadness just now. He did not ask what it was, waiting for Franca to adjust herself before speaking. He looked at the mirror in his hand that had broken into three pieces and said:

"The world in the mirror has been restored, and the larger mirror fragments have become mirrors in the sense of mysticism again." After saying this, Lumian added a paragraph of words, which was stained with the shimmering darkness, and entered the largest fragment of the makeup mirror.

    ***

    Mushu Hospital, B2F.

Luo Shan walked in front, leading Zhou Mingrui, sneaking forward in the corridor, looking left and right from time to time, looking for the missing Luo Fu.

Just as she cast her eyes towards one of the rooms and Zhou Mingrui looked towards the other side, she saw a text flashing on a piece of broken glass on the ground:

    "Luo Fu has returned home."

Huh... Luo Shan turned around quickly and said to Zhou Mingrui:

"I received the news that Luo Fu escaped."

Zhou Mingrui looked at Luo Shan twice, but did not ask her how she received the news.

He had just observed that Luo Shan seemed to be in a hurry when she went out, and she did not even bring her mobile phone.

    ***

After being sent back to Dechuang Garden by Zhou Mingrui, Luo Shan met Lumian and Luo Fu in the entrance hall.

"You just came back too?" Luo Shan asked.

Lumian, holding two pieces of mirror fragments, looked around and said:

"I went to deal with the hospital surveillance."

Although what happened tonight did not involve a criminal case and was a "natural disaster", there would be no police investigating the truth, but Lumian felt that it was still necessary to be cautious.

Luo Shan was stunned for two seconds:

You have a lot of experience in crime...

Lumian then said to Luo Shan:

"Thank you for your help. If you hadn't invited Zhou Mingrui to the second floor in time, Luo Fu and I would not have been able to escape and would have been completely swallowed up by the illusory abyss."

Luo Shan couldn't help but smile. She forced modesty and said:

"It's mainly because Zhou Mingrui is willing to take risks to save people. He has always been very good. It's also amazing that you can convince him in such a short time." Lumian did not hesitate to praise him.

"It's okay." Luo Shan looked away uncomfortably.

She walked briskly into the elevator that had just reached the first floor.

After following in, Lumian said to Luo Shan:

"We want to check your room and find out the hidden danger."?

"Okay, okay!" Luo Shan remembered that she had inexplicably appeared in the underground area of Mushu Hospital.

She couldn't sleep peacefully unless she found the bad guys lurking in her room or nearby!

Arriving at Room 1502, Lumian naturally checked every corner, and Franca also perked up and touched different things silently.

After a few dozen seconds, Lumian walked to the glass window of the living room and said to Luo Shan who was staying near the coffee table:

"I'll do a Mirror Divination to see if I can get an answer or revelation." Luo Shan nodded repeatedly.

Lumian stretched out his hand to the transparent glass that became a mirror due to the night, and recited the corresponding spell.

Now he could only do the Mirror Divination to ask his own spirituality.

When Lumian asked the question, the surface of the glass suddenly rippled with dark waves.

The waves settled and reflected a scene, which corresponded to the oil painting of a colorful parrot.

"It?" Luo Shan turned her head sharply and looked at the wall behind her.

The helper I drew myself betrayed me?

Almost at the same time, the colorful parrot flew out of the painting, trying to break out of Room 1502 and escape from here. However, the doors and windows were already locked, and it kept hitting the wall.

    "Why?" Luo Shan shouted.

The colorful parrot responded with clear human words:

"I am not your puppet, I serve..."

Before it finished speaking, its body suddenly collapsed, first feathers fell one by one, and then blood and flesh fell like melted oil paint.

In just two or three seconds, the colorful parrot turned into countless small dots of oil paint, which were poured on the off-white floor tiles. "It was controlled by someone else." Lumian gave a conclusion.

"How could it be?" Luo Shan was shocked and stunned.

This is something I drew stroke by stroke, why would it be controlled by others?

If it was another me who quietly resurrected in my body and secretly affected my painting, I could still accept it, but how could it be an outsider?

    Lumian glanced at Luo Shan:

"You can't absolutely believe in anything. This is true for others, for things you draw, and for yourself."

"I understand..." Luo Shan remembered the past, and remembered the other self.

Lumian thought for a moment and suggested:

"You stay at our place tonight to avoid any other accidents." He planned to take a photo of every item and every corner in Luo Shan's room tonight, and then send it to Anderson to see if there were any remaining problems.

    "Okay." Luo Shan agreed quickly.

Whether she found the colorful parrot or not, she originally planned to pack up her things and find a hotel with a better value for money to open a room and stay for two or three nights.

After settling Luo Shan and letting her and Janna sleep in room 2303, Lumian took Franca and took her to take photos with him in 1502, not missing anything.

After the photo shoot, he immediately sent the relevant photos to "a name that impressed you deeply", and finally said:

"Can you find any possible problems in these photos?" After a while, Anderson Hood replied:

"Are you inviting me to play the game of 'Find the Differences'?"

"I guess so." Lumian replied indifferently.

He waited patiently until four or five minutes passed before he received a message from Anderson Hood:

"If it were me, I would show photos with no problems to others and ask them to find the problems."

Meaning, there are no problems? Lumian muttered to himself silently.

Anderson Hood then sent another message:

"That blank oil painting is too annoying, add some paint to it."

    Lumian nodded thoughtfully and asked:

"Can you control what others draw?

"There are many ways to control the objects in the painting. One is to become a symbol of the world in the painting, the second is to give them a more complete life, the third is to give them human nature, the fourth is to use the fact that they are essentially information to reorganize the corresponding information, and the fifth is to grasp the fact that they have spirituality and turn them into your own secret puppets..."

Anderson rarely answered a lot, and finally said, "After reading it, do you feel that every possibility you imagined cannot be ruled out?" But "You said so much in detail, don't you just want to see my answer "yes"?

Lumian didn't have any emotional ups and downs. In his opinion, finding out the remaining hidden dangers in the room is actually not that meaningful, because it has been confirmed that Luo Shan has been targeted by a certain force or an enemy. If the other party is not dug out and killed, the hidden dangers will be eliminated today, and new hidden dangers will appear tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the colorful parrot was not controlled and could not finish his words. Seeing that Anderson Hood did not reply to him again, Lumian stood up and looked at Franca. Franca was standing by the window of Luo Shan's house, silently looking out. Lumian walked to her side and looked at the same place as her.

He saw the night snack stalls on the street in the distance, saw people still eating and drinking late at night, and saw that there were still many rooms with lights on in the tall buildings inside the community, embellishing the night.

Lumian stared quietly for a while, then turned his head to look at Franca.
Franca looked very focused, and seemed reluctant to look away for a second. After a while, she sighed in a low voice:

    "This night is so beautiful..."

    (120) Chapter 1004: The Solution

Facing Zhou Mingrui who was waiting for a response, Luo Shan hesitantly said:

    "It feels... normal..."

She initially thought that Zhou Mingrui wouldn't trust her judgment because nothing had happened—she hadn't encountered anything, nor had she touched anything. They still didn't even know if Luo Fu had been rescued. How could she describe everything as "normal"?

However, to her surprise, Zhou Mingrui nodded thoughtfully:

    "I feel the same."

After a brief pause, Zhou Mingrui asked:

"Do we still need to search for Luo Fu?"

"I... I'll keep observing for a bit," Luo Shan replied, cautiously walking to the edge of the elevator and peering inside.

Looking left and right, she sensed that the place was unnaturally quiet. There was no sign of anyone approaching, and it seemed no different from other underground sections of the hospital.

    ***

In the shadows of a secluded area near the emergency center.

Lumian and Franca simultaneously spotted Jenna, who was in a daze, dressed in a nightgown, unsure of what to do.

She had been ejected from the Dreamscape... the two experienced individuals recognized this immediately.

At that moment, Jenna also saw Luo Fu and Lumian, and the nervous tension in her heart suddenly eased.

Lumian didn't say much. He grabbed Jenna's arm and pulled her along with him, vanishing into the shadow.

The three of them quickly returned to Room 303 of Building 2 at the Dechuang Garden.

After confirming that the room was safe, Lumian turned to Jenna and said:

"Everything's fine now, you can go rest."

He didn't know how to rationally explain what had just happened in the Dreamscape, so he kept his words vague to avoid potential conflict.

As for the "teleportation" that had just occurred, it was impossible to hide it anymore. By now, Zhou Mingrui had fully understood the existence of supernatural powers, and the Dreamscape city undoubtedly housed many extraordinary beings.

Jenna glanced around in surprise, then obediently nodded:

    "Alright."

After she went into the bedroom and lay down on the bed, Lumian helped close the door and turned to Franca:

"Let's head back to the hospital now and discuss what happened there."

Franca didn't ask why and simply nodded slowly.

Using "teleportation," Lumian took Franca to a green area outside the Mushu Hospital and cast his gaze toward the emergency center, focusing on the towering building.

Seeing the shattered glass of the building and the burnt walls, Lumian finally spoke to Franca:

"I think today's events were a bit too coincidental. Zhou Mingrui came to investigate the hospital at the same time you ended up in the underground section of the Mushu Hospital."

    "What exactly happened?"

Hearing the word "coincidence," Franca's emotions wavered slightly.

She composed herself and recounted the events—how she and Jenna had been asleep, then found themselves in the underground of Mushu Hospital, encountering Luo Shan, and finally, her suspicions and the strange shadows they encountered.

"At that point, the hallway started collapsing," Franca paused, then fell silent again.

Lumian glanced at her but didn’t press further. Instead, he added:

"It does seem coincidental. Separately, each event is logical—Zhou Mingrui might have come to investigate the hospital because I reminded him during the day, and Luo Shan's shadowy encounters could have triggered the convergence of psychological forces tied to the Dreamscape’s nature. Both events could logically happen.

"But for them to occur at the same time, influencing one another, is clearly unusual.

"And at the same time, I received a warning from Lu Yong’an, which led me to follow Zhou Mingrui and infiltrate the hospital."

    Franca instinctively asked:

"But who could have arranged Zhou Mingrui?"

"They didn’t need to arrange him. Arranging us was enough," Lumian, now in his "Demoness of Despair" state, sneered. "It didn’t matter when Zhou Mingrui arrived; once he showed up, the other side could set things in motion.

"The force hidden in Luo Shan's room or nearby had been there for some time. Why did it choose tonight to influence her?"

Franca was silent for a moment, as if finally regaining her ability to think:

"Was Lu Yong’an also part of the arrangement?"

"Not necessarily. It’s possible she sensed something wrong with me and anticipated that something would happen tonight, so she guided me here, hoping to use your situation to push me toward becoming a true Child of God." Lumian reflected for a few seconds. "Lu Yong’an likely isn't like Grimm, who was influenced by the Great Mother. She has her own foreign consciousness."

At this, Lumian paused briefly, his gaze growing colder as he muttered:

"The guardian of women and children..."

    ***

Inside Mushu Hospital, the building's power supply remained unaffected by the lightning strike. Only the dividing line between the upper and lower floors bore distinct scorch marks, and one of the elevators had stopped working.

Lu Yong’an walked through a dimly lit corridor until she reached a certain room.

A wooden sign hung on the door, inscribed with five Chinese characters:

    "Director's Office."

Lu Yong’an knocked and entered, addressing the person standing by the broken window:

"She still hasn’t chosen to accept the help of the Mother."

    "I know," a voice replied.

    ***

In a luxurious villa in Trier.

Jenna was keeping an eye on Franca, who was in a deep sleep, while recounting the recent events to Madam Judgment, Madam Magician and Miss Justice.

When she finished, Madam Magician nodded thoughtfully and said:

"We still don’t know what exactly tonight’s events were meant to achieve or what the true goal is..."

Before she could finish, Miss Justice glanced at the sleeping Franca and said:

"The Two of Cups can sense her and the situation around her after she escaped the underground of Mushu Hospital."

Hearing this, Jenna's body suddenly wavered, as if all the strength keeping her upright had drained away in an instant.

Her breathing became heavy, and after a few seconds, she asked, "Is everything okay?"

"It wouldn’t be accurate to say everything’s fine," Madam Magician responded, retracting her gaze from Franca.

Jenna understood, and with a worried expression, she added:

"Right, in the Dreamscape, she held a ritual to promote herself to Sequence 4 and become the Demoness of Despair. We don’t know how long it will take her to fully digest the 'Despair' potion, but..."

Jenna suddenly stopped, not finishing her sentence.

She had intended to say, "Our goal is to wake up Mr. Fool as soon as possible and end this Dreamscape, which conflicts with Franca's survival condition."

Right in front of the Major Arcana cards, she didn’t dare say this sentence, fearing she might hear a cruel answer.

Miss Justice revealed a slight playful and gentle smile:

“I understand your feelings, but actually, this isn’t a problem, or rather, it’s not as serious as you imagine.”

“Huh?” Jenna was both surprised and delighted.

Miss Justice maintained the same smile:

“First of all, the Two of Cups 'Despair' potion's digestion rate is extremely fast, and currently, the 'despairing oneself' part has been completed. Now, she just need to look for opportunities to 'despair others,' and if she can summarize minor adjustments in the role-playing rules during this process, the digestion speed will increase even more.”

Upon hearing this, Jenna was stunned for a moment:

“Has she digested almost half of the 'Despair' potion right after advancing?”

“This is quite similar to Lumian’s situation back then, except Lumian quickly made two demigods despair…”

“Exactly,” Madam Magician nodded in agreement. “Your circumstances at that time, along with your development, easily put people into a state of despair, and Mr. Fool's psychological trauma likely contains something that could completely drive Franca to despair—something that severs all her hopes.”

    Jenna's eyes flickered slightly:

    “That’s quite a coincidence…”

    Miss Justice, sighed and laughed:

“That’s one thing. The reason I said the Two of Cups advancement isn’t too severe is that, as long as we have a little time, a few minutes, even if she leaves the dream realm and returns to reality right now, she won’t die, though it would require some form of compensation.”

“Really?” Jenna was both surprised and delighted, yet still confused. Miss Justice smiled and said:

“Though we are limited in our abilities, there are still many things we can do.

“The Sun Pathway’s Unshadowed can separate Beyonder characteristics, even split those within an Beyonders, from the highest to the lowest. And though Two of Cups is a dream advancement, reality also follows that advancement. This is why she can’t leave the dream realm before fully digesting the potion.

“In other words, we can, in reality, ask Mr. Sun separate the Demoness of Despair Beyonder characteristic from within Two of Cups. I would be responsible for stabilizing her mental state during this process. Once her physical form in reality regresses back to the Demoness of Affliction level, the concern of losing control after leaving the dream realm will no longer exist.

“Of course, this method will certainly leave some issues, possibly even serious ones, which is why we haven’t mentioned this solution before. But compared to losing control and dying, these problems are relatively acceptable.”

Jenna was somewhat dumbfounded upon hearing this:

Advancing in the dream realm leads to advancement in reality, and falling in reality causes the dream realm to fall in tandem? So, if the dream realm cannot be affected, it alters the state in reality instead?

Outside the greenbelt near the hospital, hidden in the shadows, Lumian observed the situation in the building, watching patients and emergency personnel moving back and forth, but he hadn’t spotted any significant targets.

After a long silence, Franca finally spoke: "They might have already left or perhaps never came."

“Yeah, you could check some short videos. The building’s shattered glass and the lightning strike—there’s bound to be some footage. Maybe we’ll find something.”

“Okay,” Lumian pulled out his phone and scrolled through local news, carefully reviewing every video.

As he watched a video titled “Oh my god, all the glass is shattered,” he suddenly noticed a familiar figure in a remote part of the emergency area.

That figure had golden blonde hair, slightly messy, deep blue eyes, short eyebrows, a clearly defined beard, and wore black clothes.

    Lumian’s eyes froze.

    It was Grisha.

    The roommate Grisha!

If Peng Deng is God Almighty, why He is Klein`s best friend in the Dream? Like, if you are an enemy of the СW, you are my friend? It may be Adam's influence, but I think there is a deeper meaning here.

Grisha is a diminutive form of the name Grigoriy. Its use is acceptable between lovers, friends and close acquaintances. Otherwise, it is familiarity and an insult. If Mr. Grigoriy is of Slavic nationality and uses the form of his name "Grisha" everywhere, then he has psychological problems. Big ones. Or his parents, if they gave their son a distorted name. However, maybe they did not know this because they belong to a nationality that does not use the name grisha.

Sorry for clarifying. The author is Chinese and may not know all of this. But if he does, then it will be fun. Very fun.

PS: One more clarification: this name is used not only by Slavs.

Grigoriy or Grisha depending on the situation. When you meet someone, you start with the full name Grigoriy. This is not a law. But that is how they say it. Especially if the new acquaintance is not a native speaker (like Lumian). To avoid misunderstandings. Therefore, you will initially be remembered as Grigoriy. Even if you later switch to an informal name.

Different names are replaced by informal variants in different ways. The name Alexander is replaced by Sasha almost always. Except for very formal cases. The name Stepan and the name Grigory are replaced as I described. The name Polina is replaced by an informal one less often.

    (119) Chapter 1003: Incantation

The endless darkness seemed to be pulled by a force from some deep place, or pressed down by an invisible giant hand, causing it to suddenly collapse, forming a crazy whirlpool several meters wide.

This whirlpool continuously moved toward the end of the darkness, becoming deeper and deeper, like an ancient well.

At the same time, the mirrors around Lumian shattered into pieces with loud cracks, and the elevator room door suddenly became covered with a layer of white dust, as if it had been rubbed by sand.

Immediately after, Lumian took a step forward and jumped into the whirlpool.

Thanks to the whirlpool’s appearance, he vaguely sensed his mirror substitute left at Franca’s location.

Simultaneously, he knew the whirlpool was summoned through a secret contract ritual and created with the power of his gaze, leading directly toward his intended destination. He knew that by falling continuously within the whirlpool, there was a high probability it would bring him to where Franca was trapped.

He did not let his body float like a feather, but maintained the posture of free-falling, accelerating faster and faster, the wind roaring in his ears, and before his eyes were steep cliffs of profound darkness.

    Crack! Crack! Crack!

The windows of each floor of Mushu Hospital exploded, all glass items showing cracks or turning into crystalline objects.

In the emergency center, affected by the darkness, the glass reflections in the mirrors were all shattered, including a few deeply tinted lenses.

Zhou Mingrui and Luo Shan were startled, feeling as if a massive explosion had occurred nearby.

However, they didn’t hear any corresponding sound, nor did their ears ring continuously.

Patients, nurses, and doctors were all slightly panicked, and amidst the chaos, Zhou Mingrui had a sudden epiphany and whispered to Luo Shan:

"Is this caused by something underground?"

"Possibly. I’m not sure either…" Luo Shan, not knowing much more than Zhou Mingrui, could only guess that something underground involving Luo Fu had occurred.

    Zhou Mingrui quickened his questioning:

"Why would standing on the second floor underground be able to save Luo Fu?"

    Luo Shan stammered in reply:

"I—I guess... because you have some sort of special quality!"

Indeed... Zhou Mingrui swiftly followed up:

    "What special quality?"

"You... I’m actually not entirely clear on the specifics." Luo Shan suddenly realized that revealing too much might cause unforeseen changes and forcibly shifted the topic back on track, "I’m not sure if standing on the second floor underground will really work. If nothing changes, that’s that. But if there is a change and it’s still not enough to save Luo Fu, you might need to do something else. What exactly that would be depends on the situation. At that time, you can choose not to act, but if you’re willing, I’ll go ahead of you!"

Zhou Mingrui gave Luo Shan a deep look, remained silent for a few seconds, then said:

    "Alright."

Slightly surprised by this response, Luo Shan had intended to keep pleading.

"Let’s go now," Zhou Mingrui ran towards the nearest elevator in the hallway, "Saving a life is urgent!"

Luo Shan hurriedly followed, easily overtaking Zhou Mingrui.

The actions of the two were not particularly conspicuous amid the still unsettled chaos in the emergency center.

Hidden in the shadows, Jenna quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

After waiting for Zhou Mingrui and Luo Shan to get some distance ahead, she emerged from the shadows, preparing to disappear again and follow them in case of unforeseen events.

At that moment, she felt a suffocating pain, as if the blood in her body was about to burst through her skin and spray everywhere.

It was like a deep-sea fish being abruptly "teleported" into the sky.

Additionally, Jenna felt her thoughts becoming stuck, as if her mind had seized up.

"Am I being kicked out of the Dreamscape?"

"Even indirectly revealing extraordinary matters to Zhou Mingrui through Luo Shan at night could still result in getting kicked out?"

Jenna wrestled with her thoughts, watching Zhou Mingrui descend into the underground area, hoping for a good outcome but helpless to resist. She could only surrender to the force ejecting her from the Dreamscape, leaving this world.

    ***

    Trier, in a luxurious villa.

Standing beside Franca's bed, facing the starry gate and the fog of grey and white, Miss Justice" frowned:

"I can’t sense the Two of Cups, no way to make contact with her."

"Even though I clearly used her body as the medium..."

Madam Magician thought for two seconds before speaking:

"In the Dream City, aside from what we haven’t explored yet, there are only three places that could cause such a situation where the connection between the soul, consciousness, and body is severed."

"One is within the police station, the second is in the Dream City's prison, and the third is the underground area of Mushu Hospital."

"If she were caught or imprisoned, the Two of Cups wouldn't be so despairing." Madam Judgment inferred, "She must have entered the underground area of Mushu Hospital for unknown reasons."

While Madam Magician and Madam Judgment pondered and conversed, Miss Justice continued her attempts.

Suddenly, they all simultaneously turned their heads, looking toward Lumian’s room.

At that moment, they felt an inexplicable tremor from the earth, as if a volcano was erupting deep underground.

This made all the mirrors and windows in the villa tremble, almost shattering.

It lasted just a few seconds before Miss Justice’s emerald eyes brightened.

"I can sense the Two of Cups!" she said while quickly tracing transparent, dream-like symbols in the air.

As the emblem finished, it resembled a butterfly emerging from a dream, flying through the starry gate and into the grey-white fog.

After completing this, Miss Justice turned to Madam Judgment and Madam Magician and said:

"The Seven of Cups has been kicked out of the Dreamscape. She can tell us the details."

    ***

Surrounded by a radiant light and illusory stars, with the word "Chernobyl" echoing in the grey fog.

Franca gazed at everything before her, her entire being seemingly numb, her vision growing more blurred, unable to focus.

At that moment, she heard a distant voice, like it came from the edge of the world—the voice of Miss Justice:

"Call out in ancient Hermes, Leodero."

Franca suddenly snapped awake, as if she had just emerged from a long and dreadful nightmare she didn’t want to recall.

Her lips trembled, but no sound came out, as if she wanted to sleep forever. After several seconds, Franca finally whispered:

    "Leodero."

    Her voice was already hoarse.

    ***

The gray-white fog above, Lumian stepped onto the thin cloud-like surface, yet he couldn’t penetrate it and enter inside.

He felt that this fog, along with the barrier blocking the “Samaritan Women’s Spring,” was at a similar height. He believed that if he still had Mr. Fool seal on him, he would certainly be able to fall directly inside instead of being stopped outside.

After trying two methods and failing, Lumian shifted his gaze to his right hand.

The "Blood Emperor" seal on his palm, which had been forcibly completed during the secret ceremony, showed a certain anomaly. Its color had deepened and darkened, no longer resembling the damp blood-red hue, but coming closer to a deep crimson shade that suggested oxidation.

This dark red seemed to blend slightly with his pale skin.

Lumian wasn’t entirely clear about the implications of such changes; he just wanted to use this seal and the candle made from corpse oil to quickly complete another secret ceremony.

Suddenly, the dreamlike city was enveloped by a dark night, and the clouds began to thicken.

Countless small electric arcs erupted amidst these dark clouds, gathering rapidly to form a gigantic, lightning-like shape.

As soon as this lightning appeared, it streaked across the space between heaven and earth, illuminating the entire city.

It crossed a large number of lightning rods and struck the Mushu Hospital, burrowing into the ground.

The hair on Lumian's body stood on end, and he instinctively took two steps back.

Almost simultaneously, a bright light suddenly shone in front of him, causing him to finally lose sight of the profound darkness and gray-white fog.

In his eyes remained the silver-white shape of the lightning.

When his vision recovered, Lumian discovered that a new opening was slowly closing in the gray-white fog above.

Without hesitation, he leaped forward and jumped in.

He passed through the outer fog and fell into the brilliant light portal, seeing Franca staring at him blankly, her body hair and strands of hair standing on end.

Franca's eyes reflected a continuous transformation between male and female forms, but the speed was gradually slowing, fixing on the feminine direction towards Lumian.

“Go!” Lumian said briefly, grabbing Franca's arm and directly activating the black seal on his right shoulder.

    “Spirit World Traversal!”

Under the swirling circumstances, Lumian could sense the surrounding areas outside!

The two figures instantly disappeared into the brilliant light portal, shrinking rapidly until they were almost gone.

Lumian, with Franca, navigated through the complex layers of the Spirit World, heading straight towards their intended safe location.

Normally, he could reach his destination in just one second, but for some reason, he felt as if he were bound by invisible, sticky shackles, moving extremely slowly, with an increasingly sluggish tendency.

Soon after, Lumian saw thick, profound darkness rolling in from the "rear," approaching the two of them.

    The swirling portal vanished.

    The vortex had disappeared.

In that darkness, there was a blurry, huge figure standing on a lightless water surface, and an ancient mirror slowly outlining.

Lumian gritted his teeth, traveling forward with all his might.

Just as he was about to touch the "exit", and the dark abyss was about to engulf him and Franca, everything suddenly became calm.

Lumian suddenly felt at ease, like a criminal who had escaped from prison, instantly passing out of the spirit world and arriving in a shadowy corner of the emergency center at Mushu Hospital.

His spiritual intuition told him that Jenna was here.

    Mushu Hospital, B2.

Zhou Mingrui and Luo Shan, having overcome their intense fear, walked out of the elevator together.

Almost simultaneously, Zhou Mingrui inexplicably felt relaxed, his feelings of fear and dread dissipating completely.

He frowned in confusion and said to Luo Shan, "Where is Luo Fu trapped?"

Luo Shan looked at the dim but normal white corridor outside the elevator lobby, falling into bewilderment and deep thought.

"Shouldn't it have already completely collapsed..." she muttered to herself.

Chapter 1002: The Answer to the Questions

Looking at the figure suspended inside the transparent Cocoon, her past self enclosed within, Franca's mind buzzed with thoughts, flashing through countless ideas like boiling oatmeal.

    "Where exactly is this place?"

"Is this still Mr. Fool's illusion or a psychological trauma cast by the Celestial Worthy?"

"Did I lose my memory and, before crossing over, was placed in this Cocoon, stuck on the light gate?"

"Are there other research members inside these Cocoons as well? What do the three empty Cocoons represent?"

    "Who hung us up here?"

"This is eerily similar to the Seer pathway's high-ranking display list..."

"Was it the Celestial Worthy's doing?"

"So, is this Mr. Fool's psychological trauma?"

    "He..."

As these fragmented thoughts passed through Franca's mind, the dazzling light behind the gate dispersed some of the gray fog, revealing a sphere.

It was an image of a planet, seen from the stars, much like how one might see Earth from the moon.

Franca immediately recognized the Northern and Southern continents. She saw the Western Continent, shrouded in a layer of gray fog, and the Eastern Continent, engulfed in deep darkness.

At the same time, a solemn voice echoed in her ears: "This place has a very ancient name. It's called...

    "Chernobyl!"

The voice echoed again, "This place has a very ancient name, called Chernobyl!"

The voice reverberated within her, leaving Franca stunned as she looked at the familiar yet distant planet obscured by the gray fog. She stared at the four continents, which had slightly changed but still revealed traces of their former structure. It felt like she had been struck by lightning.

Suddenly, many questions that had once puzzled her now became clear. These were answers she'd previously avoided or failed to comprehend, and instead sought other explanations:

"Why does this world also have 365 days in a year, with an extra day every four years?"

"Why does this world also have 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, and 60 seconds in a minute?"

"Why are the physical structures of humans in this world identical to those on Earth, and why can most elements be matched to their Earthly counterparts?"

"Why is Mr. Fool's Dreamscape a modern city?"

"Why is Mr. Fool's hidden town called Utopia?"

"Why is Mr. Fool's alternate persona named Gehrman Sparrow or Merlin Hermes?"

Franca stared blankly at the familiar yet strange planet, gazing at the four continents and the dreamy blue ocean, as tears—salty and wet—rolled down her cheeks.

Her mind presented her with an answer, but her soul resisted accepting it:

This world might just be Earth...

Franca's vision blurred, yet she dared not close her eyes, afraid of seeing those ever-haunting images when waking from nightmares.

In her heart, a surge of overwhelming shock, sorrow, and vast despair erupted, blending with the dense emotions around her, becoming almost indistinguishable, as if they merged:

Perhaps we never left... but we can never return.

    ***

In the luxurious mansion in Trier.

Inside Franca's room, Madam Judgment, Madam Magician, and Miss Justice had all gathered by her bedside.

"She's crying," said Madam Judgment, who had been watching Franca's condition the whole time.

In her sleep, tears wet the corners of Franca's eyes, leaving trails on her cheeks, eventually disappearing into her dark brown hair.

It was as if she was experiencing an exceptionally sorrowful dream.

At that moment, neither Madam Judgment nor Madam Magician could comprehend why the "Two of Cups" was silently shedding tears in her sleep.

They had predicted how Franca might react next, whether with twisted pain, wild madness, or extreme pleasure. All these reactions were within reason.

    But why tears?

And why were they tears of sorrow and despair?

Had something terrible happened to one of her companions?

Madam Magician glanced at the other rooms, finding Lumian, Jenna, Anthony, and Ludwig all still alive, though Lumian appeared cold and Jenna seemed to be hiding her suffering even in sleep.

"Is there no mental relief?" Madam Judgment asked, turning toward Miss Justice, who specialized in mental health and psychological analysis.

If one encounters spiritual corruption or emotional trauma in dreams, it can manifest in the real world. Thus, treating the corresponding psychological and spiritual issues in reality could also influence the person in the dream.

Using the spirit and mind as the core to construct the Dreamscape creates a difficult boundary between reality and illusion.

Miss Justice , with her green eyes filled with contemplation, replied:

"Emotions of Two of Cups are filled with immense despair, which reflects her true state."

"And what she needs right now is despair—extreme despair."

Upon hearing this, the Magician tilted her head and looked toward the eastern night sky. Her voice lowered slightly:

"Yes, Two of Cups has borrowed from the special nature of the Dreamscape to forcibly elevate herself. What she needs now is despair—intense, overwhelming despair."

"This will help her quickly digest the potion."

"I don't know exactly what she's seeing or experiencing, but judging from the current situation, the part about 'letting herself despair' is already sufficient. Afterward, she needs to find an opportunity to 'make others despair.'"

Miss Justice nodded and said, Once Two of Cups's current despair subsides, I'll offer psychological treatment again."

"For now, she might need different assistance."

As Miss Justice spoke, Madam Magician spread her hands.

Before her, points of starlight gathered, forming a shimmering yet illusory reverse door. The door slowly opened, revealing a faint gray fog beyond.

    "That represents the Dreamscape City."

Using a "Door" Angel`s power, Madam Magician truly wishes to open a door and forcefully enter Mr. Fool's Dreamscape. This is entirely feasible.

Of course, such forceful actions may lead to her immediately being scrutinized, losing control in an instant, or unknowingly transforming into a Celestial Marionette. That is unknown.

Regarding this, it is only unknown which of the two outcomes will ultimately occur, not whether both outcomes will fail to occur.

    — Based on the Madam Magician's astrological results, the likelihood of nothing happening to her is extremely small. Moreover, this only happens if Mr. Fool holds a certain advantage or if two great entities are locked in an intense battle with each other.

What she intends to do is not to rush in and save someone, but to open such a door and establish a corresponding passageway, assisting the "Dream Weaver" Miss Justice.

Originally, Miss Justice could only monitor the transformations in the Dreamscape in a vague manner. After opening such a door, she can directly affect certain areas of the Dreamscape or corresponding characters.

In this situation, having been thrown out of the Dreamscape three times, what she can do is actually not much, but all she has to pass on to Franca is a simple sentence.

As the door leading to the Dreamscape City opened, Miss Justice closed her green eyes, which seemed to reflect the human soul, raised her right hand, and traced an illusory and surreal symbol in mid-air.

    ***

At the edge of the elevator on the second floor of the Mushu Hospital.

Staring into the faint and murky Abyss, Lumian inhaled the sweet yet warm and delicate fragrance, suppressing the urge for chaos and violence, his entire body nearly aflame with sensation, entering a state of mystical tranquility.

His mind and thoughts gradually dispersed, becoming numb to the passage of time.

Eventually, he "saw" a fog tinged with dark hues, feeling himself walking through this fog.

Like before, he saw various architectural shapes, saw something like a train wandering through the vague streets, and saw a woman with a round fan covering her face, riding a two-wheeled carriage pulled by a person approaching him.

He ascended, flying deeper into the thick fog, heading toward a strange city.

There remained a strange tall tower, now only a shadow. The top of the tower exuded an indescribable gloom and terror.

Lumian fought the fear in his heart and the trembling of his body, descending into the tower, straight to the bottom.

There, he saw an ancient well fused with darkness, its walls made of stones covered in green moss. The stones held thick, black iron chains hanging into the depths of the well.

These chains were adorned with numerous blurry carvings, making them hard for Lumian to discern. Unable to control himself, he leaned over, intending to peer into the depths of the ancient well.

Reflected in his eyes was a blood-red abyss.

It seemed to be a pool formed from countless streams of blood.

Soon after, Lumian caught the scent of blood mixed with iron.

Confused, he glanced toward his nose, discovering that blood had begun trickling down from his nostrils, just like real blood.

Suddenly, in the reflection of the blood pool, Lumian glimpsed his own head and face, clearly visible.

His right palm began to burn intensely, a wild and overwhelming energy surging outward like a flood.

This was quickly blocked by a cold and silent sensation.

Amid the mental contract, on the second floor of the Mushu Hospital, Lumian’s body began to tremble noticeably.

His hair floated upwards, his face shifting between the beautiful Lumina and the more handsome security guard Li Ming. His chest alternated between rising and falling, his aura oscillating between femininity and masculine aggression...

He continually switched between these two states, and if either side within him was missing, his body might not hold, rapidly collapsing into an uncontrollable monster.

At the edge of the ancient well, Lumian sensed a terrifying will capable of destroying everything, feeling its gaze cast upon him from the depths of the well.

Despite possessing the Ascetic ability and despite forcing himself to stay in control, Lumian couldn’t help but break free from the contract and open his eyes.

His right palm continued to throb, more intensely than ever before. His eyes turned pitch black, devoid of any trace of life or death.

Before him, within the void, a swirling vortex suddenly appeared in the Abyss, spiraling towards the depths.

Edit: Oh looks like the webnovel website can’t block you from taking screen shots. It’s still a lot of work, so the method I mentioned below might be faster.

This is a bit of a roundabout way, but I can’t think of any other way as no screenshots/screen recording is allowed on the app.

      1. Setting > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Speak Screen ON
      2. Go to voice memos or a recording software on your phone or another device and press record.
      3. Go to webnovel and swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen to start the text to voice *You shouldn’t need to scroll down, it should read the rest of the chapter. You can also speed it up but that might result in errors when transcribing*
      4. Go back to recording software, stop recording and press the three dots next to it and save to Files
      5. Go to a free transcription website like GoTranscribe, upload the file from wherever you saved it in Files.
      6. Copy the text outputted.

I know it’s a lot of work probably up to 5-6 mins per chap. I would help if I had a source but since I don’t, there’s not much I can do. Thank you for all your contributions!
