Chapter 919: Certain Death

The dark yellow bullet flew instantly, striking the reanimated female corpse.

However, it passed right through, merely causing the silhouette to waver, become illusory, and disappear.

After being deprived of her Mirror Substitution, the reanimated female corpse's first reaction was to use the mirrored objects in the surveillance room to create a mirror projection, supplemented by mirror illusions, while she quietly changed her position.

So, what Franca had locked onto was just the mirror projection, and what Sure Hit would hit was also just the mirror projection, not the real reanimated female corpse.

Having evaded the fatal strike, the silhouette of the reanimated female corpse immediately became ethereal, projecting onto the nearest mirrored object.

She intended to use the mirror world to temporarily leave the battlefield, wait for her Mirror Substitution ability to recover, and then decide based on the situation whether to wait for the next opportunity, attack Franca and the others again immediately, or quietly follow them to determine their identities and whereabouts, so they could be directly locked onto and kicked out of the dream.

Just as the reanimated female corpse's silhouette became prominent on the surface of that mirrored object, a person suddenly appeared in the void dark area behind the mirror.

It was Anthony, wearing a black T-shirt.

Anthony held a charm similar to the Ice Amulet in one hand and the Winter is Coming revolver in the other, aiming at the reanimated female corpse who was about to enter the mirror surface.

He had used the Mirror Traversal ability in time to intercept the reanimated female corpse!

Since Lumian could make his own charms to help Beyonders traverse the mirror world, he certainly wouldn't make just one, only for Franca.

Besides himself, everyone in the team had one, and each could be used four times!

They had relied on Franca's Ice Amulet to transfer positions earlier, partly because since everyone was close together, there was no need to waste the uses of the other charms. After all, in the dream, Lumian was restricted to the Sequence 7 level, and making similar charms again had a high probability of failure. On the other hand, it was also following Lumian's Conspirer approach and Franca's occasional mutterings after entering the dream about "appearing weak when you are strong", deliberately setting a trap for the enemy.

By demonstrating that they could only hide in the mirror world and transfer positions by holding onto Lumian and Franca's clothes, they led the reanimated female corpse to believe that the others couldn't perform Mirror Traversal. So, after evading Franca's attack, the reanimated female corpse confidently used the mirror world to escape.

This led her right into the gun barrel of Anthony, who had forcibly concealed his presence earlier.

Anthony pulled the trigger with a calm expression.

Another bullet tinged with a dark yellow glow flew out, heading towards the reanimated female corpse who was about to enter this area behind the mirror.

Sure Hit!

Bang!

As the gunshot rang out, the reanimated female corpse, who hadn't had time to retract her black flames, frost, and spider silk to protect herself, had blood blossoming on her chest, her flesh and bones splitting.

She was truly hit by the bullet, shot out of the mirror surface, and fell back into the surveillance room.

Seeing this, Franca aimed at the target once again.

Now, she was going to use the Certain Death bullet.

Meanwhile, Jenna still guarded the surveillance screen, having intention to steal credit, to prevent stray bullets from destroying the object that needed protection.

She only quietly extended invisible spider silk, intending to touch the blood splattered by the reanimated female corpse, to use it as a medium for curses.

At this moment, the reanimated female corpse suddenly raised her head and let out a painful scream.

Her hair rose strand by strand, instantly becoming long and thick, like venomous snakes.

The tips of this slimy, bizarre black hair were each inlaid with black and white eyeballs and heads that stuck out forked tongues like snakes.

Jenna instinctively closed her eyes, but still felt her thoughts becoming chaotic, pain and pleasure arising simultaneously, her body inexplicably stiffening as if turning to stone.

In this instant, she suddenly understood what the enemy was doing.

The reanimated female corpse seemed to have sensed that she was about to suffer a fatal blow, and with no way to avoid it or protect herself by forming a huge cocoon, she actively indulged in her own madness, displaying an incomplete Mythical Creature form that only Saints should possess.

For most Saints, displaying an incomplete Mythical Creature form was extremely dangerous, leading to a loss of control. Unless there were no other options or they intended to drag the enemy down with them, no one would use it.

For Beyonders without godhood, directly viewing an incomplete Mythical Creature form would result in intense corruption and terrible mental shock, likely leading to madness and loss of control. Even if they didn't look directly and closed their eyes, being within range would still cause some corruption.

Saints with godhood would still be affected to some degree by the incomplete Mythical Creature form, and would continue to be affected afterwards while facing the frenzied attacks of the incomplete Mythical Creature—the incomplete Mythical Creature form was a Saint's most powerful and dangerous state.

As the horrifying transformation of the reanimated female corpse reflected in Franca's eyes, she gritted her teeth and resolutely pulled the trigger of the Inevitable Gun.

Bang!

A dull green bullet flew from the muzzle, heading straight for the reanimated female corpse's body hidden by the slimy, thick hair.

Franca then let out a painful cry.

She instinctively tilted her head back, her black hair tied in a ponytail and modified by Lie broke free from its restraints, becoming wild and distinct, seemingly growing thicker.

Her face took on a grayish-white tinge, her chest felt somewhat swollen, and her mind felt as if it had been hit by a storm, all thoughts blown about, becoming mad, twisted, and dark.

She felt intense pleasure and also extreme pain. This, combined with her body's state already infected by disease and decay forces, caused her to passively trigger a Mirror Substitution.

With a cracking sound, Franca regressed into a mirror and shattered into pieces.

But when her silhouette was outlined in the corner, while she no longer felt the effects of disease and decay, her hair still floated in mid-air, still growing thicker. Her face was extremely pale and twisted to the extreme, yet presenting a strange beauty, her eyes full of madness and malice.

Corruption couldn't be transferred by Mirror Substitution, nor could the tendency towards losing control.

At the same time, the Certain Death bullet fired by Franca hit the mass of slimy, bizarre black hair of the "reanimated female corpse".

Although the effect of Certain Death was suppressed to Sequence 7 level, only certainly fatal to ordinary people, it was still deadly to the already severely injured reanimated female corpse. Moreover, the reanimated female corpse's incomplete Mythical Creature form was also limited to Sequence 7, only possessing defensive capabilities at this level!

The bullet glowing with a dull green light penetrated through layers of thick hair, entering the brain of the reanimated female corpse in her incomplete Mythical Creature form.

Smack!

The reanimated female corpse's head split open, blood and white matter splattering outwards.

The slimy, bizarre thick hair with black and white eyeballs fell in succession, returning to their original state to varying degrees.

Only then did Anthony dare to jump out from the mirror-like object, turning his back to the corpse with its strange charm and mental corruption. From a not-too-distant position, he began to perform Psychoanalysis on Franca, which was essentially throwing a Placate her way.

Franca's painful and mad chaotic thoughts calmed, and the symptoms of losing control in her body began to subside.

Seeing this, Anthony quietly let out a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, the reanimated female corpse's incomplete Mythical Creature form was also only at the Sequence 7 level, so the corruption and impact on Franca were at this level. Otherwise, he really wouldn't have known if she could be saved; that might have depended on Franca's own willpower.

As Anthony began the second Placate, Lumian jumped out of the surveillance screen.

He instinctively looked towards Franca and Jenna, checking their conditions.

Seeing that the problems were all within an acceptable range, Lumian then turned his gaze to the reanimated female corpse on the ground with its split head and bizarre hair.

As a fellow Saint, he only experienced a slight emotional fluctuation, without any other reaction.

Their joint efforts had actually taken down a Demoness of Despair with Mirror Substitution… Lumian was surprised and quite gratified.

He unconsciously looked towards Ludwig, finding that the little boy was staring at the Demoness's corpse with blazing eyes, completely unconcerned about possibly being corrupted.

Indeed, Ludwig wouldn't be affected by the incomplete Mythical Creature form. Moreover, the corpse had already left the incomplete Mythical Creature form, with only some characteristics remaining.

While repeatedly creating seven clusters at a time of deep black Flames of Destruction to burn the patches of viscous flesh and yellow-green pus in the surveillance room, Lumian took out a mirror, bent down, and put the reanimated female corpse with its burst head inside.

They couldn't let this corpse continue to corrupt the surveillance room, affecting Jenna and Franca who were recovering!

During this process, a black, irregularly shaped mirror fragment fell from the corpse.

As expected, she has a fragment of a special mirror world… Lumian stuffed the black fragment into the Traveler's Bag, planning to compare it with Franca's and the others' later.

By this time, about a third of the viscous flesh and yellow-green pus in the surveillance room had caught fire, and the black flames began to spread to the surroundings, seeking other combustible materials.

"Phew…" Franca let out a long breath, her mental state finally stabilizing, the abnormalities on her body having subsided.

Anthony moved to Jenna's side, performing Psychoanalysis on her, who had not been much corrupted.

After putting the Inevitable Gun back into the Traveler's Bag, Franca was about to proudly tell Lumian "We took down a Demoness of Despair" when her eyes suddenly caught sight of the several cameras in the surveillance room.

She immediately changed her words. "I'll check if our fight just now was caught on the cameras."

"Couldn't we just completely destroy the surveillance equipment with the Flames of Destruction?" Lumian thought it wasn't necessary to be so troublesome.

"What if this mall's surveillance footage is stored on a cloud server?" Franca wasn't too sure, but felt it necessary to guard against this possibility.

Lumian didn't stop Franca further, because he didn't understand what a cloud server was.

Franca quickly manipulated the surveillance system, and after a while said, "It's fine, the reanimated female corpse probably destroyed the cameras in this room when she came to check the surveillance."

As she spoke, she used another Mirror Substitution, because Lumian couldn't make the entire room be engulfed by the Flames of Destruction. He could only create clusters of flames and burn areas bit by bit, with mystical pathogens and decay forces still lingering in the air.

Lumian nodded and continued, "Check if my battle in the surveillance world has become part of the surveillance footage. If there's no problem, let's hurry back for the spirit channeling."

"Can it work like that?" Franca said in surprise.

This was equivalent to the actions of a dummy in a painted world changing the painting itself.

    (48) Chapter 932: Dreamscape Tendencies

Upon hearing Lumian's words, Franca and the others couldn't help but tense up, as if they had just witnessed the arrival of a terrifying event.

Lumian pulled over a chair and sat down, his eyes naturally scanning every corner of the room, smiling as he said:

"I wonder what it feels like to be kicked out of a dream. The Major Arcana cards don't explain it in detail.

"Is it like jumping from the depths of the sea to the surface, or is it like being kicked into an endless spiral tunnel?"

He let his imagination run wild about how he might be kicked out of a dream, speaking lightly as if he were describing what he had for breakfast.

Franca suddenly felt a bit impulsive:

"Are all of you Hunters like this? Faced with danger, instead of being afraid, you provoke it?"

"Fear, of course, is there, but simply being afraid, what does that accomplish?" Lumian chuckled, "Even if I'm scared inside, on the outside, I'll pretend it's no big deal, and I certainly won't show weakness with my words."

    Franca laughed:

"No wonder people say the Hunter's strongest feature is their mouth."

Lumian and Jenna simultaneously looked at Franca, saying nothing.

"... Franca was stunned for a moment.

"I didn't mean to tell a lowbrow joke!"

    She quickly added:

"In the dream city, they say 'having courage as firm as your chest but a face like a calm lake can earn you a salute from the general!'"

Thanks to Lumian's comments, the team’s spirits were no longer as tense.

At this moment, Lumian smiled again:

"Getting kicked out of a dream isn't scary. After all, there's still a chance. What's scary is if the Celestial Worthy restricts us and sends his subordinates to kill us in the dream. Then there's nothing left."

    Jenna pondered and asked:

"Are you saying that if you encounter a strange and dangerous situation, you should leave the dream early?"

"Smart thinking." Lumian leaned back in his chair, took out his phone, tapped the screen twice, then paused for a long time.

Franca glanced over and saw that the screen displayed the WeChat add-friend interface.

"You want to use a small account to add Mr. Fool's QQ and WeChat?" She understood at a glance.

    Lumian smiled self-deprecatingly:

"Yeah, but I can't find a good reason. I'll definitely be rejected.

"Should I use the line 'Do you want to understand the real world and learn the secrets of supernatural powers' to send the request?"

"Mr. Fool, hmm, Zhou Mingrui's current state is like someone who just drank the Assassin potion, feels the allure of supernatural power, but doesn't have enough knowledge of mysticism. He really needs a guide."

Anthony, who had also sat down, shook his head:

"If Zhou Mingrui himself finds out through some clues that you can teach him real mysticism, and only ask for money in return, he might add you as a friend. But if you take the initiative, showing too much enthusiasm in guiding him, it will backfire."

"Exactly." Franca nodded heavily, "He might directly block you, and could even call the police saying, 'Hey, officer, someone here is promoting feudal superstitions, suspected of being a cultist.'"

    Lumian fell into thought, muttering:

"Maybe I could create a small-scale mysticism event involving Mr. Fool's friends or colleagues, then personally resolve it. Through word of mouth, Mr. Fool will hear about it.

"This could also be a way to test the rules of the Celestial Worthy, but we need to prepare for the person handling it to be discovered and targeted. We should make sure they relocate beforehand and use more secretive methods to stay in touch with us.

"Yes, this is feasible. We can try it."

Lumian didn't immediately assign specific team members to carry out the plan but instead said to Franca:

"Can you send out our resumes? Let's target the Intis Group."

"Okay." Franca took out her phone. She had already prepared the resumes.

She was invited for an administrative role, and Lumian was invited for a security position.

    — Among the four of them, Franca was the only one qualified, but her profession was far removed from Zhou Mingrui's, so she couldn't apply for the same department. She had to choose an administrative role that would allow frequent contact with Zhou Mingrui.

The other three, Anthony was a retired soldier, Jenna was a performing arts student, and Lumian was a young man who had studied martial arts in high school.

It wasn't that this "Righteous" lady didn't want to forge their qualifications to pass an online background check, but even if they did, they would be exposed during the interview.

They simply wouldn't be able to answer professional questions, or might not even understand the questions!

For this reason, Franca chose to apply herself, rather than sending Jenna, who, in theory, would be easier to place in an administrative role.

After sending the resumes, Franca looked at Lumian, smiling:

"I have some good news. Can you guess what it is?"

"Stop! No changing your expression with your eyes!"

Lumian thought for a few seconds and said:

    "Lottery win?"

The only thing that could be considered good news right now, and that could be mentioned in front of Anthony, would be something like that.

"Guess how much I won?" Franca wasn't disappointed that Lumian guessed correctly.

    Lumian couldn't help but laugh:

"Madam, you bought so many tickets with the same set of numbers, and the second prize for the Double Color Ball has the lowest standard.

"I've checked. Do you want me to guess how much you've won?"

    Franca laughed awkwardly:

"That's not the point. The point is, don't you notice anything unusual?

"During the fight with the resurrected female corpse, the hidden Marionettist incident didn't conclude, and outside the Star Dream Provisions Store, someone reminded us to be careful of spy technology like eavesdropping devices and pinhole cameras. And now, we've won over twenty lottery tickets.

"What does this mean? It means some mysterious force is helping us!"

Jenna, who had discussed this with Franca, added:

"We believe this is a manifestation of Mr. Fool's inner tendencies within the dream, symbolizing something."

"He and the current Celestial Worthy are probably not in a position to absolutely dominate. During the day, he is stronger, and at night, the Celestial Worthy is more formidable. But even at night, it’s not like he can’t do anything."

    Lumian slowly nodded:

"At that time, I just noticed that the other side had a peculiar flow of fate; I didn’t think it would necessarily lead to this result. Perhaps, 'peculiarity' itself is a hint of fate."

He felt that there was nothing worth correcting in Franca and Jenna’s explanations.

"Praise the Fool!" Franca stood up abruptly, sincerely placing her hand over her chest and bowing.

    Then she immediately asked:

"Who will go exchange the prizes today?"

She had already looked up the guide for exchanging prizes online.

Lumian and Jenna both turned their eyes toward Anthony, as did Franca.

The three of them had to disguise themselves elaborately when going out as Demoness, but Anthony didn’t need to.

    Anthony nodded calmly:

    "I'll go."

By ten in the morning, the team hadn't encountered anything unusual, so Lumian laid down and started to catch up on sleep.

Franca opened the gray car, taking Jenna, Anthony, and Ludwig with her. They drove towards the Dream City lottery center following the directions.

As they drove, Franca gradually grew impatient, muttering to herself:

“Why do we always have red lights at every intersection?”

Jenna, sitting in the passenger seat, thought for a moment:

"Isn’t this just an expression of the Celestial Worthy’s inclination in the Dream City, symbolizing that our actions won’t go smoothly?"

Franca calmed down and focused more on her driving, even using her Demonesses instinct to avoid any accidents or incidents on the way to the lottery center, preventing a scene of "a person in a hurry."

Due to the combination of red lights and traffic jams, they arrived at their destination nearly half an hour later than expected.

Before Franca could hand the lottery ticket to Anthony, she saw someone jumping off the roof of the lottery center, splattering blood everywhere.

"Seriously? I only got second place..." Franca was stunned.

Anthony got out of the car and mingled with the crowd to find out what had happened.

Not long after, he returned to the car and relayed the information he had gathered to his companions:

"The person who jumped was the head of the lottery center. Fifteen minutes ago, people from the anti-corruption department entered the lottery center."

"Did they really sacrifice the head of the lottery center to prevent me from claiming second place?" Franca didn’t know what expression to make.

Still unconvinced, Franca had Anthony take the lottery ticket into the center to try and exchange the prize. The staff informed them that prize exchanges were temporarily suspended for the day and that they should return tomorrow.

In the gray car, after a moment of silence, Franca gritted her teeth and said:

"This is the closest I’ve ever come to winning big, and they won’t let me exchange it!

"Tomorrow, we’ll bring Lumian along. Maybe we need to influence our fate!"

When they returned to the rented room, Lumian was already up.

After Franca recounted their ordeal, she worriedly asked:

"Why did you get up so early? Shouldn’t you sleep a bit more?"

    Lumian laughed:

"I was woken up by the phone ringing."

"Oh, only a few days have passed, and there’s already a phone call to disturb you?" Franca remarked familiarly. Lumian shook his head:

"No, it was the Intis Group’s call, asking me to come for an interview tomorrow morning."

"Already a phone interview?" Franca exclaimed in surprise.

How come I haven’t received one yet?

My resume is clearly much better than Lumian’s!

Lumian took out his phone, unlocked the screen, and handed it to Franca:

    "Maybe it’s because of this."

Franca took the phone, puzzled, and looked closely. She found a news headline:

"Last night, during a thunderstorm, a car was struck by lightning, resulting in one death and three injuries.

"The news reported that the deceased and the injured were all security personnel of the Intis Group..."

    (47) Chapter 931: Inquiry

Lumian stepped back two paces and sat down on the bench outside the classroom to wait.

His fingers lightly tapped, skillfully entering Anderson Hood’s circle of friends:

"Yesterday: Someone else's failure is my success.

"August 14th: Every person has different talents; some in language, some in art, and some in the ordinary.

"August 13th: My roommate is really dead. He Game Over in this game of life.

"August 12th: Love is also a type of war, where hunters like Danitz can reap rewards.

"August 11th: As long as you don't get angry, others will.

    ". . . .

"August 2nd: My friend, you really flipped this far? Show some respect for privacy!"

Lumian, expressionless, continued to scroll down until there was no more content, then he noticed a familiar yet slightly different reminder:

"—only the most recent posts from friends are displayed—"

Lumian smiled, brought the phone closer to his mouth, and used voice mode to send Anderson a message, giving a brief introduction of himself to see if the other party would respond and if there was anything hidden in his words.

After sitting for another two minutes, he saw someone approaching from the direction of the reception.

The person was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and light-colored sneakers. His short black hair was simply combed, with deep brown eyes behind slightly yellow-tinted, half-rimmed glasses. His facial features were gentle, with a hint of handsomeness, carrying a black bag slung over his shoulder. It was Zhou Mingrui, the target of Lumian and his group's journey into the Dreamscape, and Mr. Fool's manifestation in the Dreamscape.

Lumian raised his head at the sound of footsteps, turning his gaze in the direction.

He noticed that Zhou Mingrui was different from Gehrman Sparrow:

Both originated from the original Zhou Mingrui, but they had developed in completely different directions—one leaning towards a gentle and handsome style, and the other exuding sharpness and coldness.

Zhou Mingrui noticed Lumian's gaze and looked in his direction.

    Lumian smiled and nodded.

Zhou Mingrui was slightly surprised, unsure why this stranger was greeting him, but he still politely nodded back.

Lumian withdrew his gaze and focused on the yet-to-be-lit phone screen.

He saw his reflection on the black screen, noting that although he was called handsome, he had not reached the level where celebrities would approach him.

He lowered his attractiveness, trying to blend in with the crowd.

Zhou Mingrui glanced at him in confusion, then turned and entered the business English classroom.

After a few more minutes, the principal of Dream Tutoring Classes, Edwina, entered the business English class with teaching materials, followed by a man with a floral collar who was sent to the beginner’s English class as an assistant to Anderson Hood.

Lumian looked up at the camera on the ceiling, and while waiting in a different area of the hallway, occasionally peered through the classroom windows, just like most of the other parents, busying himself with his phone.

A small number of parents who knew each other started chatting:

"Our kid has recently been able to converse in English."

"Really? Our kid is still trying hard, starting the beginner’s class too late."

"Look at that child; his mouth never stops moving."

"Probably because it's the first day of class. It's like this; our child also had some trouble adjusting before, so parents need to be more involved in teaching."

Lumian ignored these words, focusing on the frost-covered blackboard photos he had taken earlier, once again immersing himself in the detailed Conspirer`s analysis.

He occasionally checked local news and trending videos to keep up with changes in the Dream City.

The beginner’s English class had two breaks, during which Ludwig came to Lumian to replenish his energy and soothe his inner wounds.

The business English class only had one break, but Lumian did not approach Zhou Mingrui. He merely glanced at him out of the corner of his eye when he went to the restroom and quickly returned.

The business English class ended ten minutes earlier than the beginner’s English class. Lumian suddenly stood up, blocking Zhou Mingrui's path.

    With a smile, he asked:

"Hello, what do you think of this business English class? I'd like to know."

Seeing Zhou Mingrui's puzzled expression, he took a step further to explain:

"I originally brought my child to the beginner’s English class, but I overheard your business class and thought it was pretty good. I'm considering whether to enroll in a class myself so I don't waste time waiting."

    "Child?" Zhou Mingrui instinctively asked.

He looked the young man up and down, feeling that he was much younger than himself, appearing like a university student.

This person already has a child?

"Yes, my son," Lumian replied with a smile.

A son... A son old enough to attend a beginner’s English class... Zhou Mingrui suppressed the urge to curl his lips.

He had graduated from university and had been working for two or three years, yet he didn't even have a girlfriend. And this seemingly younger guy already had a four-year-old son!

Did he fall in love in high school and have a child early? It turns out that only the good-looking ones get to have a youth like this.

    Zhou Mingrui sincerely replied:

"Principal Ed's teaching is excellent, but the business English class requires a certain level of foundation."

He suspected that the young man opposite him had dropped out of high school to get married and had never attended university, so he kindly reminded him that the business English class required a foundation.

"I see..." Lumian nodded thoughtfully, sincerely saying, "Thank you."

He took a step back, no longer asking Zhou Mingrui any more questions.

First contact, measured! Observe further for changes later.

Zhou Mingrui was curious but didn't deliberately pry into others' private lives. He stopped at the classroom door, watching the scene unfold.

After a while, the beginner’s English class ended, and Lumian, ahead of Zhou Mingrui’s gaze, discreetly handed Ludwig a lollipop and led him out of Dream Tutoring Classes.

Ludwig, who appeared to be seven or eight years old, definitely left a deep impression on Zhou Mingrui — his son was seven or eight years old, and his father's appearance seemed to be only about twenty. In this family, someone must always be breaking the law!

However, leaving a deep impression of the Mr. Fool wasn't part of Lumian's plans today, which might be disadvantageous for his elimination process.

After buying a pile of high-quality cakes and mustard greens to fill Ludwig's stomach, Lumian brought the child to a regular dinner, then chose a cheap hotel to stay.

He let Ludwig turn on the TV, randomly selecting a cartoon, while he picked up his phone and scrolled through Anderson Hood's WeChat profile picture.

In the end, he didn't send a message to this person, who seemed capable of detecting the true nature of the Dreamscape, wanting to see if the other party would take the initiative to contact him as a reminder.

    ***

    In the rented room.

Although Franca was lying on the bed scrolling through her phone, her mind wasn't entirely on it. She was worried about Lumian's situation.

Direct contact with Zhou Mingrui could very likely bring about unwanted changes!

Jenna was the same, occasionally pacing back and forth in the room.

Suddenly, Franca sat up straight, frowning as she spoke:

"I always feel like I've forgotten something. Is this a premonition?"

A second later, without using divination, she quickly recalled what she had forgotten:

"That's right! Today is the lottery drawing day! I totally forgot!"

She hurriedly checked the results, her mouth slightly open.

"Did you win?" Jenna curiously and expectantly asked.

"Yes, I won... I won!" Franca was initially confused, then surprised, "I won over twenty two prizes, the total prize is over 150,000!"

She immediately stroked her face gently, saying, "Do I still have such luck?

"No, could Lumian's ability to influence fate still have such an effect?"

    "Over 150,000?" Jenna was stunned.

These days, living in poverty made her satisfied with just a few thousand, but now it was tens of thousands, and still five digits!

Franca got out of bed and began pacing slowly as she spoke:

"Accumulating a bit more and we could rent those unusual items at the Star Dream Provisions Store."

"Shouldn't we first think about repaying the small loan?" Jenna reminded Franca.

"It's not time to pay it back yet." After the initial excitement, Franca felt a sense of worry, "A large sum of money like this all at once, will it attract the attention of the lottery office? Will it catch the eye of the Celestial Worthy...?"

Before Jenna could respond, she added:

"It's only a few hundred thousand, what's the big deal? Someone who won the jackpot got more than 30 tickets, each worth 5 million! We only got a bit of the crumbs from their hands."

    Inside Binzhi Hotel.

After having a late-night meal, Ludwig was already asleep on the other bed, while Lumian lay awake, leaning on his pillow, quietly staring at the dark screen, with a bit of moonlight filtering into the room.

So far, Anderson still hadn't sent him a message, and direct contact with Zhou Mingrui hadn't led to any obvious abnormalities — his every move wasn't restricted, and he hadn't been kicked out of the Dreamscape.

As time ticked by, Lumian suddenly heard the sound of thunder, saw the night sky outside the curtains lit up by a silver-white lightning.

The thunder rolled in, heavy rain poured down, and didn't stop until dawn, when it finally lightened up.

Lumian, awake all night, greeted the new day.

He turned on his phone and saw reports of flooding and submerged areas, with some railway lines temporarily suspended today.

Is this a sign? If so, what does it signify? After feeding Ludwig a bunch of steamed buns, he took him out to a nearby place for noodles.

He ordered pea paste noodles for himself and tomato omelet noodles for Ludwig.

The peas were stewed until soft, absorbed the sauce, mixed with noodles, fragrant and flavorful. Lumian ordered two servings, ate one and a half, and left the remaining half for Ludwig.

After breakfast, he slowly took Ludwig on public transport back to the rental room.

Seeing that Lumian and Ludwig were both fine, Franca, Jenna, and Anthony breathed a sigh of relief.

    Lumian smiled and said:

"The preliminary test results are that simply interacting with Mr. Fool – Zhou Mingrui during the day without leaving a deep impression on him doesn't attract the attention of Celestial Worthy, get kicked out of the Dreamscape, or face restrictions.

"Of course, maybe I'm being deceived, and the Celestial Worthy is deliberately not dealing with me, waiting for me to reunite with you all, then kicking us out of the Dreamscape together."

They already said that these were all incarnations of the Fool (Gherman, Klein, Merlin). I just don't get it, they think that the Fool is an ancient being who used Klein's personality to regain his power. Or they know that Klein became a god recently?

After all, they are no longer the fools they were in the beginning, they know almost all the secrets of the world. And in the dream, everything is clear, I think

This chapter reminded me of the battle in Trier of the Fourth Epoch. The ancestor of Vermond the Conqueror lost control and fought with the Order of the Bloody and the Iron in a Mythical Form. The military Bishop of the Order was not affected by this at all.
