Chapter 1903: Three Sides Strike At Once (II) |
“The dao of life and death is decent…” sighed Earth Yang, but he quickly shook his head. “Despite the unending number of souls, their quality is mediocre. If he really had the ability to trap thousands upon thousands of imperial souls, he would’ve ended the seventh rank a long time ago.”
Li Hao didn’t make a sound, he continued to closely watch the fight. Wronged souls…
Everyone’s dao of life and death was different. The young man’s only touched upon the cycle of life and death. None of his other abilities were worthy of mention.
Lin Hongyu’s dao of life and death had helped her forge a hell of death. Those she vanquished became spirit guards. Drifting Life seemed to use the souls of the dead—a mental conversion of sorts.
Everyone had their own unique abilities. Then could Drifting Life walk the cycle of life and death? How about the Reincarnation master? Did he have nine lives?
Li Hao didn’t have an easy way to answer his questions. It would be terrifying if the Reincarnation master possessed the same abilities as him. Who could kill a peak eighth rank nine times? The caveat being that the world master could endlessly revive after being killed. Energy sufficient for an eighth rank would be required for that.
Drifting Life made another move at this time. Instead of summoning an army of wronged souls, a towering tree appeared in the void. The branches seemed to be dao domains as they overshadowed the earth.
The tree extracted endless life force!
Ironeater shot upward, breaking all of the branches he came in contact with. However, vitality drained from his body.
A soaring surge of blood qi rose from Ironeater. He was ready to make his final stand!
The massive monster spirit body hovered in the void, as if a celestial body. It crushed all of the souls around him, decimating them!
Ironeater’s body seemed to spontaneously erode as stark-white bone appeared. He swung his metal club and smashed the towering tree to pieces!
Drifting Life grunted from the impact, but smiled. The formidable monster spirit had lost his physical body, thanks to his machinations. His presence had slid from peak seventh rank to barely seventh rank.
It was clear to see from that just how heavily injured Ironeater was. There was no place for him to run to anymore.
“Kill him!” There was no point in keeping the panda trapped. Long nights gave rise to numerous dreams. The timing was good now.
Five powerhouses charged Ironeater. That was when the void rippled and more powerhouses appeared.
The look in Drifting Life’s eyes chilled and he snorted, “I knew that there was someone lying in wait!”
He thrust out a domineering palm strike. There was no sign of his wan face to be seen.
The void rippled and a loud impact sounded out!
Another giant panda fell out of the void, covered in blood. He vomited blood and was wreathed by death qi as he shouted, “We die together!”
An explosive force rose from his body—signs of self detonation. A seventh rank was going to self detonate as soon as he showed himself!
Drifting Life blinked, then frowned. Seventh rank? Not eighth? His eyes widened. This was a trap!
No, it was bait.
Damn it!
The four seventh ranks were one step too slow. A long blade had soundlessly appeared in the void. An expressionless Human King swung his blade at one of them, carving through the void.
The four seventh ranks seemed to drop into a boundless universe, one that isolated them from the chaos, worlds, and dao universes.
There was only this blade in existence!
The seventh ranks paled with horror and screamed, “Kill!”
Four seventh ranks attacked at the same time, but the blade was even faster. It was so fast that it could not be tracked. A surge of force erupted from it and suppressed them all on the spot!
The void itself was a cage and various dao rules materialized in the void. One thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand…
Apart from the blade overhead, all dao rules seemed to coalesce into one person—someone exactly the same as the Human King!
It was neither a weapon nor a treasure, just one person. The Human King had fought countless battles in his life. He trusted only himself to solve all issues. He was the only one who could dispel all dangers.
Was it faith in himself?
No, just that the final destination of dao was himself!
Other people’s dao might be a dao river, weapon, all living things, the world, sun, or moon… His wasn’t!
His dao was the congregation of a myriad daos that ultimately became the shape of him!
He did not cultivate yin and yang, life and death, or anything else. He cultivated only himself!
“What’s small fry like you hopping up and down for?” A derisive snort echoed through the void while the blade swung down.
In the eyes of others, this blade was a soundless attack. But in the eyes of the four seven ranks, it was as if the collapse of a world, the destruction of heaven and earth…
One blade obliterated the mind and soul of a seventh rank, crushing their body, erasing their skeleton, and shattering their dao origin…
One clean slice!
A seven rank from a premier eighth rank universe died soundlessly, disappearing from existence.
……
Earth Yang jerked with shock!
He’d been excited when Tie Han showed himself, thinking that it was the Human King. But Drifting Life quickly dispelled him of that notion. Earth Yang had been disappointed that it wasn’t the Human King, yet saw the Human King’s blow the next second.
It was a perfectly commonplace blow, but it landed right on a seventh rank. The target didn’t struggle, shout, or do anything but… die.
Their souls and minds were annihilated!
Li Hao also took a sharp breath. So strong!
The young man had once cut down Long Xuan with one blow, but that had just been the chaos beast’s physical body. After severing it into two, Li Hao had needed to further obliterate the dragon’s dao mark. That’d also caused an enormous disturbance.
But today, the Human King had soundlessly dispatched one of the four seventh ranks, despite them actively resisting. It’d been so quietly done that it was like the seventh rank had been a mirage. They were dispelled with a casual flick.
Drifting Life had just sent Tie Han flying with a palm strike when he looked back. He nearly lost his mind from the sight!
So this was the legendary New Martial Human King??
He’d quietly eliminated a seventh rank without any fuss. It’d happened so quickly that it was incredible. Even though eighth ranks could kill seventh ranks, they could not do so in such a… bland fashion.
“Damn it!” snarled Drifting Life. He whirled around to engage the Human King in battle.
Behind him, the skeleton that was the Ironeater master roared like he’d lost his mind. He smashed through the void with his club and sped straight for Drifting Life!
The Human King sniffed and looked at them with amusement. “Killing my brother is to kill me. Since you dare antagonize my brother… I’ll end you!”
His blade struck again!
The three seventh ranks jerked to wakefulness and shouted with fury. They went on the offensive, summoning a river of life and death that encircled the vicinity and filled it with death qi.
The Human King’s blade descended, just as before, and… boom!
There was a sound of impact this time, an enormous one. Another seventh rank crumbled away.
The Human King stuttered briefly and took a deep breath. It took a bit of effort to kill a seventh rank with one blow. What a pity that he was yet to reach peak eighth rank. He was getting tired after killing two seventh ranks! How humiliating.
When I killed those weaker than me before, I cut through them one blow after another! I guess… I’m getting old.
One thousand years meant that he was no longer a young whippersnapper. Look at him, breathing hard after executing two seventh ranks. How embarrassing!
The entire area had become a tiny cage.
“This is the trick of Fang Ping of the myriad worlds!” cackled the Human King. “Come take a close look at it. Can you guys handle yourselves in close combat?”
The two seventh ranks were yet to come back to their senses. They were contemplating how to defend themselves against that blow. Thousands of punches surfaced when the Human King drew close again. They threatened to blow a hole in the chaos!
The Human King was as if an ancient beast, furiously careening every which way. Thousands of punches descended like drops of rain, so fast that it was unbelievable. Punch overlaid punch and the two seventh ranks sought to retreat, but there was nowhere for them to go!
They finally scanned the area with fearful looks. Why was this happening? What kind of attack was this??
Four seventh ranks could fight an eighth rank, but they’d immediately lost two to the newly ascended Human King. Those two had been reduced to minced meat in the blink of an eye, then drifted away as dust…
The Human King was famed for his blade, but no one knew that he was equally adept in close quarters.
Today, someone found that out to their detriment and the realization that everyone who’d known about that detail before had died. Hence, the Human King was quite regretful that his reputation in body combat were nearly lost. No one knew about them!
That was such an immense regret!
BOOM!
An explosion rang out and worlds toppled. All of the chaos strength in the surroundings exploded. Two seventh ranks completely vanished!
Four seventh ranks had died in the blink of an eye!
In the shadows.
Earth Yang’s jaw dropped and shock colored his eyes. The Human King was so strong!
He could also kill seventh ranks, but just one of them. If two… he’d have to pay a bit of a price and expend considerable time. Three… would be difficult. Killing one of the three working together would be extremely troublesome.
Four? He could just manage to fight them. Even emerging victorious would be difficult, much less killing anyone.
But to kill four seventh ranks in the bank of an eye, it would have to take him working with his brother and paying a hefty price.
However, the Human King was just one person. Was this a newly ascended eighth rank??
Li Hao’s eyes darted around the battlefield as he made a quick assessment. That was roughly five thousand or so daos. The Human King was much stronger than imagined.
The young man had thought that given the Human King’s strength at seventh rank, he would be a force to be reckoned with as an eighth rank. He’d command at least four thousand dao rules, but now, it seemed that Li Hao had underestimated the man.
Although the Human King was still weaker than the Dragon master, how many years had it been since the Dragon master became a peak eighth rank?
The Human King was only one thousand or so years old.
