Chapter 719: The Grand Ward’s Power |
Although the capacity in Soaring Dragon Boundary wasn’t comparable to that of Jiu Zhou, there were many great forces of different scales.
A total of nine hundred and eighty-four great forces had joined forces to destroy the Heavenly Gully Cult. With the three hegemons as the leaders, over several ten thousand cultivators had come together.
However, half of them were killed during the battle under the Heavenly Gult, and the surviving ones were running away while in a battered state.
The Blood Race members and those from the Heavenly Gully Cult, who had submitted to the Blood Race, were running after them.
Lu Ye could see lights of different colours dashing towards the Valley of Medicine.
They arrived in just a short moment.
“Are you Ye Six?” The person in front was a man in a long robe while wearing a hat. He looked just like a scholar.
The person was none other than the current Director of Grandeur Academy, Yuan Changcun.
He had learned about what had happened in the Valley of Medicine from Huang Liang, so he was aware of Lu Ye’s existence. He also knew that if the allied forces wanted to survive, they needed Lu Ye’s help.
“Yes,” Lu Ye replied.
The next moment, Yuan Changcun landed in front of Lu Ye and examined him, only to see that the latter remained calm and collected despite the calamity that was going on. He thought that a young man like him could be considered a hero.
He had heard about Tyrant Blade Manor before, and Ye Ying’s Tyrant Blade Technique was famous throughout Soaring Dragon Boundary. However, he didn’t expect Ye Ying’s Son to be such a capable young man.
Through their communication, he could tell that Huang Liang thought highly of Lu Ye and believed the latter to be the saviour.
Presently, Yuan Changcun wasn’t interested in finding out if the young man before his eyes was the saviour. They would only have the right to talk about future plans after surviving the calamity this time.
“Thanks for the help, little friend.” Yuan Changcun nodded at him.
“Tell them to enter the valley!”
Yuan Changcun turned around and ordered, “Enter the valley quickly!”
As soon as he finished speaking, rays of light arrived and brushed past them from above before entering the lush Valley of Medicine.
Most cultivators knew nothing about the abstrusity in the valley. Having witnessed the anomaly at the Heavenly Gully and the power of the Blood Race, they were apprehensive. Even after they entered the valley, they still didn’t feel a sense of security.
With that said, they were aware that there was an amazing Grand Ward in the valley, and it was their last hope. It depended on how they would deal with the enemies in the following battle if they wanted to survive the calamity.
“Go and get prepared first, little friend. I’ll stay here and deal with the enemies!” Yuan Changcun said while holding his sword.
Lu Ye nodded and turned around to enter the valley.
During the pursuit, many cultivators were caught and killed by the Blood Race members and remaining Cult members. Corpses were seen lying on the ground along the way, and the ground had been dyed red.
Fortunately, there were many people on the allied forces’ side. Even though the Blood Race was powerful, it wasn’t easy for them to destroy all the cultivators.
Several minutes later, all the surviving cultivators had entered the valley. Many Blood Race members and Cult members had also arrived.
At that instant, the war broke out in the beautiful Valley of Medicine.
Only when all the Blood Race members had entered the valley that Lu Ye activated his Spiritual Power and infused it into the Control Gem in his hand.
Soon enough, a very thick fog appeared out of nowhere and spread across the valley, engulfing every part of the place.
“There’s a ward!” It wasn’t until this moment that the Blood Race members came to that realisation as they exclaimed.
Many of them instinctively shot into the sky, trying to leave the coverage of the ward.
However, after moving several metres above the ground, they felt as if a mountain had been pressed against them, making them unable to fly higher.
“Aerial Lock Ward!” The originally haughty Blood Race members were horrified. They didn’t expect something like the Aerial Lock Ward to exist in Soaring Dragon Boundary.
Covered in the fog, they were unable to identify any direction and started seeing illusions. They also couldn’t fly into the sky. Now, they were the ones getting trapped.
As the changes took place in the Grand Ward, the cultivators from the allied forces were at a loss as well because their enemies were nowhere in sight as they were shrouded in a fog.
The view around them disappeared, and the noise of the battle died down. It was as though they were the only ones left in this world.
In the fog, Lou Yichuan panted heavily. In the previous battle, many of his Senior and Junior Brothers were killed. He was lucky enough to have survived, though he was also injured. When he was fighting a Blood Race member earlier, he was almost killed by the other party.
They had never come into contact with the Blood Race before, so they knew nothing about the latter’s moves. It was one of the reasons they had suffered a setback under the Heavenly Gully.
The Blood Race’s Secret Techniques were mysterious, and their Blood Qi was highly corrosive. It was able to corrode the spirituality of Spirit Artifacts and Spiritual Power Shields. Therefore, many cultivators were injured when dealing with the Blood Race.
As the fog fluctuated, their enemies were nowhere in sight, and everything around them seemed to have disappeared. All they could see was the fog.
Lou Yichuan panted while feeling apprehensive. All of a sudden, the fog parted and revealed a narrow passageway.
The passageway was only several metres long, and at the end of it, there was a blood-skinned man pacing around anxiously.
It was the Blood Race member who almost killed him!
Lou Yichuan felt his chest tightening and almost instinctively tried to run away. Nevertheless, he soon realised that something was off about the Blood Race member.
Since he had registered his presence, the other party supposedly must’ve discovered him as well.
In truth, the Blood Race member seemed to have been affected by something as he couldn’t detect the person who was only several metres behind him.
[Someone is helping me in secret!]
Only then did Lou Yichuan realise that only the owner of the Grand Ward could make such a move.
He clenched his Spirit Artifact and silently approached the Blood Race member. When he was close enough, he activated his Spiritual Power and attacked the person.
“Go to Hell!”
It wasn’t until Lou Yichuan flared up and his ferocious aura came close that the Blood Race member came to his senses, but it was too late. As Lou Yichuan wielded his Spirit Artifact, the Protective Blood Shield around the Blood Race member trembled. Upon impact, he sprayed out a mouthful of blood, and his aura weakened.
Initially, Lou Yichuan wasn’t a match for his opponent, but the situation flipped around after the other party was wounded.
With his fury rising within him, he activated all of his moves, rendering the Blood Race member powerless to counterattack. He soon killed his opponent.
On the other side of the valley, Pu Hui was tangled up in a fight with a Blood Race member. There was no doubt that the monks from Vajra Temple had robust physiques and were full of vitality. However, their physiques were useless when they dealt with the Blood Race.
The Blood Race members didn’t have sturdy physiques, but their Blood Qi was strange and highly corrosive. Pu Hui had been cultivating his physique for dozens of years, but it was now full of traces of corrosion. Even his Protective Golden Shield had been shattered.
Pu Hui was certainly powerful, but his opponent wasn’t weak either. If nothing unexpected happened, he would be defeated by the other party.
In truth, if not for the fact that Pu Hui had been chanting to distract the opponent, he would’ve lost his life long ago.
Just as they were in an intense fight, a clap of thunder was suddenly heard. A bolt of lightning the size of a baby’s wrist accurately struck the Blood Race member’s head.
In an instant, he trembled violently as lightning was seen wandering around his figure. His aura weakened significantly.
“What a good chance!” Pu Hui’s eyes brightened.
He immediately changed forward and extended his fist to strike the Blood Race member, who was seemingly immovable.
The power of the attack could break anything in the world as it struck the chest of the Blood Race member. Upon impact, a dent formed in his chest as the back of his clothes burst apart, revealing a circular slit. The back of his heart was also bulging.
The Blood Race member sprayed out a mouthful of blood, which seemed to have a spirituality of its own as it engulfed the monk.
Pu Hui had suffered a similar setback before, so he was vigilant this time. He activated his Spiritual Power and cast the blood mist away. Then, he consecutively thumped his opponent thrice and killed him on the spot.
In the valley, many people were experiencing similar things, just like Lou Yichuan and Pu Hui.
The Grand Ward in the valley was the most powerful one that Lu Ye had ever built since he started cultivating. When the cultivators from Heavenly Gully Cult were trapped here previously, he single-handedly killed several Ninth-Order Elders. Huang Liang couldn’t believe what had happened.
However, Lu Ye couldn’t fully activate the Grand Ward’s power at that time because no one worked with him.
To showcase the full power of the Grand Ward, what he was doing was ideal.
He hid in the dark and controlled the Grand Ward while working with others to kill the enemies.
However, that was taxing on his Mental Power because many cultivators from the allied forces and the Blood Race members had entered the valley. Presently, more than several ten thousand people were fighting in the valley.
Regardless of how strong Lu Ye’s Mental Power was, he couldn’t control everything. All he could do was work with the cultivators from the allied forces by saving those who were about to be killed and those who were at a disadvantage. By helping them defeat their enemies, they could slowly turn the tide.
One’s Mental Power was directly correlated to his soul. Since Lu Ye’s soul was strong, his Mental Power was naturally mighty as well.
As time passed, his Mental Power was continuously depleting. When he felt exhausted, he directly consumed some Soul Cleansing Water to replenish his energy.
Yi Yi and Amber moved around the Grand Ward. Following Lu Ye’s instructions, they accurately found some dying cultivators and sent them to the Divine Healer to get some treatment.
That way, they managed to save many lives.
However, there was only one Divine Healer. Even though her assistants were all skilful Medical Cultivators, what they could do was limited under such a circumstance.
There were even more cultivators who were injured and killed. The entire valley was filled with a metallic tang as there were corpses everywhere.
This was no longer just a battle between the cultivators. It was a war between two worlds.
Faced with the Blood Race’s invasion, those from Soaring Dragon Boundary couldn’t retreat, nor did they have the option to do so.
