Book 4: Chapter 20: Grand Celestial Gathering

Vol 4 Chapter 20: Grand Celestial Gathering

“Think about it carefully. Going to the Origin Realm is the best choice for you. After all, the strongest being there is only at the Nascent Soul Stage. One day, with your Longevity Body, you could become the strongest in the Origin Realm and monopolize all its resources.”

Lin Jing pondered slightly.

“Ten years... the top ten... the time is a bit tight, but it’s not impossible. After all, it’s only the top ten, not the first place.”

Right now, the Dragon Carp was about to form its Nascent Soul. If it could synthesize Immortal Flame, there was still a good chance.

However......

“But if we leave, what about the Transformation Grass and Transformation Pills?” Lin Jing voiced his concern.

What made him the Holy Son of the Demon Court was entirely due to his skill in producing Transformation Pills.

If he left, the Demon Court’s path to revival would essentially be cut off.

After all, once gone, it could be a very long time.

Stockpiling a large quantity of mutated Transformation Grass and leaving behind the Thunder Refining Method was just a temporary fix—it would run out sooner or later.

“I naturally thought of that.”

The Demon Emperor spoke slowly: “Just split yourselves. Half will stay, half will go to the Origin Realm.”

Lin Jing: ???

“External Incarnations,” the Demon Emperor explained.

“The key to refining the Transformation Pill is that Pine Leaf Mouse and Dragon Carp of yours.”

“You’re a Beast Tamer, no doubt. If you’re heading to the Origin Realm, they have to go with you. Otherwise, you won’t be able to compete with other realm’s prodigies.”

“But if they leave, the Transformation Pills can’t be refined.”

“The best solution is for them to each reach the Nascent Soul Stage and then each create an External Incarnation. That way, your true self can leave, and the incarnations stay behind in the Tianyuan Realm. Although this means you’ll only have half your combat power compared to other prodigies who have incarnations, and can’t rely on them to better comprehend the laws of the Origin Realm, at least it leaves a backup for both the Demon Court and yourself.”

“Whether your true body in the Origin Realm dies in battle, or the incarnation left in the Tianyuan Realm is assassinated—as long as not all are killed, there's still hope for a comeback.”

“External Incarnation is different from a regular clone. Regular clones can inherit common spells but not rare beast divine abilities. Incarnations can replicate even those. So, creating incarnations is the only choice.”

An External Incarnation was a powerful divine art that a cultivator could only forge once. Lin Jing was also hearing for the first time that incarnations could inherit rare beast powers… The Demon Emperor was a rare beast, so it must have tested this itself. The possibility was very high.

“In that case, no problem.” Lin Jing felt this method was feasible.

“Good. Within ten years, climb into the top ten of the Fortune Gold List. But you may not need to run around for ten years, constantly challenging others or plundering fortune to climb the ranks.”

“Have you heard of the Grand Celestial Gathering?”

Lin Jing recalled: “The Grand Celestial Gathering is a grand event held by the Ancient Celestial Kingdom once every 60 years. At that time, all sects and families from the Nine Domains of the kingdom participate, and the Ancient Emperors personally attend.”

“During the gathering, prodigies from minor sects compete in duels. Those who perform outstandingly attract the attention of the Fortune True Dragon, increasing their sect's fortune…”

“Exactly. The Ancient Emperors intend to hold a Tianyuan-wide Grand Celestial Gathering ten years from now, modeled after the kingdom’s version. Only the top 100 prodigies below the Fortune Gold List will be allowed to participate in the final selection. So, no matter how hard you work to raise your ranking on the Gold List, if you don’t shine at the Grand Celestial Gathering ten years from now, you’ll still have no chance of breaking into the top ten.”

“Therefore, you must not waste the ten years just cultivating in seclusion, hoping to finalize everything at the gathering.”

“The downside of that would be exposing your divine abilities and trump cards early, making you a target for other prodigies seeking to steal your fortune.”

“Hopefully, both she and Qingyao can break into the last ten spots, allowing your Demon Court to take seven of them. That Immortal Source truly is a dangerous thing. It’s said to be made for those who possess rare beast bloodlines like you two—possessing shattered Immortal Beast bloodlines... degenerated into Immortal Beasts.”

“Thank you for the reminder, Your Majesty. I’ll do my best.” Lin Jing’s heart stirred. Ten years from now... the Grand Celestial Gathering, huh?

So soon, and he’d have to face off against the top second gens of the Tianyuan Realm…

Ten years—Lin Jing could accept that. After all, he had the Demon Court at his back, endless resources, and once the Dragon Carp reached the Nascent Soul Stage, it could mass-produce Golden Cores to help boost his cultivation. Plus, with the Hourglass of Time, ten years could equal over fifty. It was worth a try.

After explaining everything, the Demon Emperor added, “Do your best. My true body has already gone to the Realm Boundary Wall to help the other Dao-Seeking cultivators reinforce it. With luck, it can hold for ten years... Also, since you're going to the Origin Realm and aiming for one of the ten prodigy spots, you absolutely must obtain the Golden Light Gu from Golden Light Temple.”

Lin Jing said, “Rest assured, Your Majesty. I’ve already partnered with the Void Mystical Ghost Bride. The Golden Light Gu is ours. As long as the monk from Golden Light Temple is fair, the Golden Light Gu is already in the Demon Court’s pocket.”

The Demon Emperor chuckled: “If that bald donkey dares backtrack, I’ll personally fetch it. But wait—how did you manage to strike a deal with the Void Mystical Ghost Bride???”

She raised an eyebrow.

“I picked up her marriage certificate back during my Qi Refinement stage.”

“Never mind.” The Demon Emperor gave up thinking. For a prodigy with this much fortune, anything could happen to him.

It turned back to helping the Dragon Carp synthesize the Immortal Flame.

...........

After the conversation with the Demon Emperor ended, the Ghost Bride emerged from underground, and the Thunder Dragon Ancestor descended beside Lin Jing.

“Does His Majesty have any instructions?” the Thunder Dragon Ancestor asked.

“We must obtain the Golden Light Gu. The Tianyuan Realm may soon be turned upside down.” Lin Jing took a deep breath and told both the Ghost Bride and Thunder Dragon Ancestor what the realm might soon face.

“Huh?” The Thunder Dragon Ancestor was equally shocked. It hadn’t even officially become a demon yet, and there was going to be a war already?

“What’s the Demonic Sky Realm?” The Ghost Bride didn’t really care. After all, she was already dead. She just wanted to know her fiancée’s fate. After that, whether her soul scattered or not didn’t matter.

“A bunch of bad people from another realm.” Lin Jing glanced at the Ghost Bride, intending to first secure the Golden Light Gu. Though technically he was also an outsider, he figured he wasn’t one of the bad ones.

Once he had the Golden Light Gu, he’d quickly raise his contract beasts’ cultivation levels. Otherwise, even if he barely made it into Tianyuan Realm’s top ten prodigies, he still couldn’t shine in the Origin Realm.

The Demon Emperor made a good point. That place was way too perfect for him—it was like his dreamland.

A place where an Immortal Source emerged every ten years, and the strongest cultivators were only Nascent Soul.

Lin Jing wished he could settle down there forever and never come out.

And if he ever did come out, it’d have to be after both he and his six contract beasts all broke through to the Void Mystical Stage.
