Chapter 1205: Hit

’He looks so weird,’ Atticus thought. He hadn’t taken a moment to properly examine his current appearance as an Eldorian, but now he made a mental note to.

The changes on his grandfather were clear. Magnus’s form had been altered with each core and Atticus could see traits of multiple races layered into his being.

Atticus sent a glance toward Avalon, who nodded seriously. He turned back to Magnus before raising his arm. Within seconds, the dwarven core formed and shot toward Magnus, merging with the cluster of cores at his center.

Magnus recoiled instantly, his entire body convulsing as thick brownish veins webbed across his skin.

His eyes ignited with blinding light. Pain surged through every fiber of his being, and light began pouring out of him like he’d become a vessel too full.

Gritting his teeth, Magnus clenched his fists, enduring the torrent as the light intensified, until suddenly, with a violent burst, a pillar of energy shot out of him and ripped through the roof of the training room, piercing straight into the sky.

Atticus smiled slightly. He had diverted the brunt of the force into the vertical blast, if he hadn’t, the entire hill would’ve been reduced to dust.

But the smile faded quickly.

’The world’s energy just dropped… and mine too.’

His gaze narrowed. His energy was tied to Eldoralth, and now, the both of them had taken a hit.

’It’s not recovering

He tried refilling his energy, but nothing changed. He thought for a moment, then it clicked.

’So this is the cost.’

He had been right from the beginning. The true fallback wasn’t during the previous stages, it was now, when Magnus was finally becoming an Eldorian.

The world’s energy level had dropped, and because his energy was in perfect sync with it, so had his own. No matter how much he tried, he couldn’t go past this ceiling, for now.

The blinding light slowly began to dim, revealing Magnus suspended just above the ground, legs still crossed.

’His appearance has completely changed.’

He looked younger now, his skin flawless and slightly pale with a whitish hue. His frame had grown broader, and even as he floated to his feet, Atticus could tell he had gotten taller.

’I’m still taller,’ Atticus reassured himself silently. Magnus was pushing 8 feet now, but hadn’t quite reached it.

His body brimmed with so much vitality that Atticus had no doubt, he would live for an incredibly long time.

’More than a thousand years.’

It was a staggering figure, especially considering the previous lifespans of even the strongest races. Human paragons topped out at 300 years. The others only marginally surpassed that. But the Eldorians had they were on another level entirely.

He could still remember how long Elderish had lived.

As Magnus opened his eyes, Atticus couldn’t help but smile.

’Just like Elderish.’

His eyes had turned abyssal black, speckled with endless white dots, like the night sky itself lived in them.

"How do you feel, Grandpa?" Atticus asked. Avalon had stepped closer, quietly observing his father with intrigued.

Magnus flexed his arms, opening and closing his fists slowly. The power flowing through him was immense,!more than anything he’d ever known.

He gave a single nod. "Good."

Atticus nearly laughed. Trust Magnus to downplay something so absurdly spectacular.

He and Avalon could feel the weight of the aura he now exuded. The pressure.

"Why don’t you fight with Dad?" Atticus suggested, smirking.

Avalon shot him a glare.

"I think you’d be more suited for that," he replied.

Atticus shrugged. "I’m a god. It wouldn’t be a fair fight."

"And fighting me would be?" Avalon motioned toward the vastness of Magnus’s aura with exaggerated movements.

"Hm…" Atticus hummed. "Are you scared?"

Avalon frowned, his eyes narrowing. He could feel both Atticus’s and Magnus’s gazes pressing on him.

He sighed. He was, but there was no way he’d admit that.

Without a word, he flickered to the other side of the training room, his gaze sharpening as he faced Magnus directly.

Atticus vanished into a corner, watching it all unfold with a calm, amused gaze.

The air grew heavy as Magnus and Avalon locked eyes.

’I can’t hold back,’ Avalon thought grimly, feeling the familiar weight of his gauntlets around his arms.

"Start when you’re ready."

Magnus’s words had barely left his lips before Avalon’s figure flickered. In the blink of an eye, he appeared in front of the still Magnus, fist wreathed in blazing inferno, tearing through the air toward his head.

But then Magnus’s eyes flashed brown as his lips parted. "Mana negation."

A pulse rippled from his body, and the moment it enveloped Avalon, his flames were snuffed out like candlelight.

Avalon’s eyes widened in shock, but before he could even process what had happened, a massive fist filled his vision.

He froze, unable to react. The fist stopped just inches from his face, the gust of air it generated blasting his snow white hair backward in a violent ripple.

Avalon gulped. "Did the punch have to be that close, Dad?"

"Yes," Magnus replied matter of factly, retracting his fist without fanfare.

Avalon could only clear his throat awkwardly.

Afterwards, Atticus approached the two, offering a nod of approval as he praised Magnus’s transformation. Then he turned to Avalon.

"Doing the same for you will take time," Atticus explained. "The world needs to recover first."

With that, Atticus turned and left the training room. Outside, his gaze shifted briefly toward the garden where Zoey was still healing.

’Not now.’

Now that he was a god, accelerating her recovery would’ve been easy. But with the world’s energy depleted to such levels, he wasn’t willing to risk it. Not yet.

The current reserve was already low, and if a threat emerged, he needed to be prepared.

Atticus pulled his gaze away in the next moment and made his way to his usual spot. There, he sat down cross legged and closed his eyes to meditate.

And just like that, time passed in a blink.

    chapter 1206:clarity:
It had been one month, and as expected, Atticus sat rooted on his spot on top of the hill.
The seasons had come and gone. Rain, searing heat. But one of the perks of being a god was that he was the world, and the world was him.
No rain dared come close. No heat dared feel hot. To the world, they felt each change, but to Atticus, it remained constant. The same.
Through this month, Atticus had focused on another part of his power. Now that he had absorbed all the cores and had become a god, it was finally time to focus on another aspect of his strength.
To this, Atticus had chosen his elements.
For a long time now, the majority of them, aside from the four basic ones, had been stuck at a level cap.
In the past, he had tried his very best to find the perfect combinations to merge them, but each time, he came up blank. He just hadn't been feeling it.
In the past, he had tried his very best to find the perfect combinations to merge them, but each time, he came up blank. He just hadn't been feeling it.
No matter the combination he tried or the feelings he tried to impose, nothing seemed to work.
But after becoming a god, Atticus had resolved to figure it out. Now in Eldoralth, his brain's processing speed could no longer be measured.
Every single one of his physical stats had reached the world's peak. There was no one stronger than him. No one faster than him. 1
If there was ever a perfect moment to break through this bottleneck, it was now.
And surprisingly, the moment Atticus sat down and tried random combinations, he had felt something, a link, a connection that hadn't existed before.
Atticus tried to understand what had changed. And soon enough, he figured it out. Only one thing had changed since then, his will.
He had found himself. He had found clarity. And it was through that clarity that, during this one month, Atticus had broken through the bottleneck in some of his elements.
In particular, the Light, Space, and Spirit elements. They had fused, and created a new energy.
The feeling that linked all of them had been clarity, the clarity he found when he awakened his true will.
He'd instantly put the new energy to the test. And after many trials and errors, he figured out its main function.
Unlike the fusion energy of the four basic elements that erased any matter it touched, this one was more ethereal.
In a sense, it transcended dimensions and purified existence. He discovered he could use it to phase through barriers, negate illusions, and more importantly, sever the connection between body and soul.
It had been perfect for bypassing the defenses of defense based enemies. A solid addition to his collection, and Atticus had been glad for the breakthrough.
Now, Atticus rose to his feet and turned his focus to the world.
    'It has recovered.'
A month ago, he had completed Magnus's core and turned him into an Eldorian. Back then, he realized the process had caused a significant amount of mana to be lost from the atmosphere. Now, after a month, it had recovered.
Atticus sent a glance toward Zoey, then shook his head.
    'She's not in dire status.'
He wanted to heal her immediately, but he also wanted to empower Eldoralth as much as he could first. In all honesty, Atticus knew he might just be giving himself an excuse.
Regardless, he disappeared and appeared in front of Magnus and Avalon's training room.

He barely moved, and every one of his movements was steady, precise. He dodged and punched, each blow landing clean, sending Avalon flying.
Still, Atticus couldn't help but praise Avalon's determination.

He released his presence, and the fight stopped. Father and son turned toward the god of Eldoralth, both wondering why he was there.
"Are you ready for yours, Dad?" Atticus smiled. But nothing could beat the wide grin that stretched across Avalon's face in that moment.

He received many disappointed shakes of the head from Magnus, but Avalon didn't give a crap. His entire focus was on getting through the torture that Atticus had decided to inflict on his loving father.
This was what Magnus went through? And he hadn't made a sound!? Avalon was finding it hard to believe that was even possible.
The sensation of molten magma running through your veins was meant to make you scream. Anyone with the resolve to hold that in deserved all the praise in the world.
"Did you scream during the process too, Son?" Avalon had asked.
Atticus had held back his laughter. "Only on the first one, Dad."
    "Oh."
It was his tenth trial. And Avalon had screamed through every single one. He cleared his throat after that, a bit embarrassed.
They continued the process, and just like that, another pillar burst through the ceiling and into the sky.
    Another Eldorian was born.
After everything had settled, Atticus made his way back to his place of training. He had felt the dip in the energy reserve and resolved to wait another month until it recovered. The more Eldorians Eldoralth had, the better.
Still, Atticus had hit a problem.
'Only paragons would be able to withstand the strain of merging with the cores.!'
He had wanted to keep his strongest soldiers close, trusted. Because of that, he started with family.
Atticus was glad Magnus and Avalon had gone first. Now, asides from himself, his Bonds, and Whisker, they were the strongest on the planet. At the very least, his family's safety was assured.
But the Ravensteins had run out of paragons.
'With the world's density increasing, many should experience a shift in their physiology too!
In simple terms, Atticus expected many more to awaken greater potential. With the mana in the air still more than double what it was before, even at its temporary low, it was only a matter of time.
Atticus reached the spot and was about to sit. He froze.
    'Ozeroth.'
His expression turned serious. He had just felt some sort of shift from his bond with Ozeroth.
