Chapter 1876: Accept The Fortuna Guild? |
"Did you guys enjoy the show?" Tang Shaoyang sat and asked with a smile.
Lu An, Zhang Mengyao, Alton, Moonsong, and the others, including all the vassals, were in the room. The question was answered with silence as everyone looked at the Emperor with various emotions.
Some of them looked at him in fear which mostly came from their vassals, some of them looked at him in awe, and some of them looked at him with uncertainty. They had seen Tang Shaoyang turn into a dragon, but not the six-headed dragon. This was also their first time seeing the appearance of the six-headed dragon.
During the battle against the Divine Church, he went alone to fight the Divine Dragon. No one got to see his dragon form.
"Now you have seen my true power. You should never let others take advantage of us anymore. You have me to support you, and the empire will never fall regardless of who we face. You just need to trust me." He declared.
His declaration gained reactions compared to his early question. He saw The Queen of The Elven Kingdom, and Allissa rolled her eyes at him. A few of them chuckled, and Zhang Mengyao stepped forward, "We understand, please stop with your cheesy lines."
"We are here for something else, now? Didn't you say you have something to discuss that needs our feedback?"
Tang Shaoyang called for a meeting, including the vassals in the meeting as it was a big decision. It was about the Fortuna Guild, and he wanted to hear their opinions about the Fortuna Guild.
He did not waste his time and told them what The Fortuna Guild proposed, whether they should accept their surrender or not.
"I want to accept them because we will need a lot of people for my plan. Do you remember my plan to get rid of the Nirvana Alliance in five years?"
Tang Shaoyang had not forgotten about the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order. Both alliances never gave up on killing him. Even after their plan failed in the God Rank's trial, they tried to use their connection with one of the Executive Administrators to get him killed. It was clear that they would not stop to kill him. He did not want to be passive and might as well try to get rid of them.
"We will need a lot of people because we will be fighting seven factions. We need to attack them and catch them off guard before their punishment is over, and I will need a lot of support because we will occupy and take over their worlds."
Clearly, a lot of people did not like what he planned, especially those who heard this for the first time. They did not know The Emperor was planning a war in the future.
"Do we have to fight them? Can't we talk this out with them? Do we really have no other choices?" Kang Xue was the first to speak up. She did not want to go to war, even after finding out how strong her husband was. In a war, anything could happen, and they did not know what their enemies had. They might have something that could be used against her husband.
"We have to unless you want them to keep hunting me down. The worst part, they will not stop at me. They will go for you and our world as well. One of the Executive Administrators contacted them to get me killed…"
Tang Shaoyang explained in detail how big a deal the Executive Administrator was, and more details on the influence an Executive Administrator had. He told them that the main reason why the Fortuna Guild wanted to join them was because of his position as the Executive Administrator.
"That means they will stop trying to kill you, no?" Kang Xue pointed out.
Tang Shaoyang shook his head, "They will stop trying to kill me openly, but they will do it secretly. What makes you think they will give up? Especially when I am still a new Executive Administrator. My influence is still shallow in the administrator. In fact, their desire to kill is getting higher, and they will do anything and use everything just to kill me before I can gain more influence and fame."
Zhang Mengyao furrowed her brow and understood that the battle against the Nirvana Alliance was inevitable. She agreed with what her husband said that the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order would do everything in their power to kill her husband before he got too big for them to handle.
The room fell silent for a moment before a discussion was started by Zhang Mengyao.
"I agree with accepting the Fortuna Guild, but we have to make sure that they are not a danger to us. We can't ensure it even with an oath because of the Feather of the Oathbreaker. We need to think of a way to make sure they are not dangerous to us."
The contract could not be used for something this big, and an oath could not be trusted when they knew there was an item to break an oath. The discussion went on, but they failed to reach a solution. The discussion returned to an oath because the oath was the only thing that could be used as a safety measure.
"How rare is the Feather of Oathbreaker?" Rosalie asked Tang Shaoyang.
"I am not sure myself. I have twenty of them in my inventory right now, and I think it was offered as a reward when you chose Treasure as your reward for your advancement trial," Tang Shaoyang answered.
He had twenty of them, taking them from the enemies that he killed. Then he remembered he was offered twenty Feather of Oathbreaker when he chose treasure for his advancement reward, but he ended up choosing The Nine Heavenly Gate that time. He understood why Rosalie asked.
"Let me ask my people in the administrator. They might know more about the feather than me."
He sent a message to everyone in his team. He even asked Arion and Clementine when he found their names in his administrator contact. He just found out that he had all the Executive Administrator contacts.
His inbox was filled with replies from his team members. Their answers were matching, the feather of Oathbreaker was a very rare item, even rarer than the God Rank item. Khaya and Arion even told him that the System was more likely offering the God Rank item than the Feather of Oathbreaker.
The surprise answer came from Executive Administrator Clementine. Her answer was "There are only six Feather of Oathbreaker sold in the public auction, and seventeen feathers sold in the black market in the last century…" and more details how much one feather was sold.
"It's rarer than a God Rank item, and there's no market price for it. You can only buy it from an auction or the black market, but no one knows the price for it as it fluctuates all the time. In the last auction, it was sold at thirty-seven God Rank items."
Tang Shaoyang himself was shocked when he read the price. He thought a little of the feather when he found out that he could get them from the trial's reward. But he just realized how limited the feather was in number. They could only get the feather from the System's reward, meaning the trial reward. The dungeon or game did not reward them with the feathers.
In the end, the oath was still a solution, "Can one person take several oaths at once? We can make the Guild Leader take five different oaths. We can make him take an oath not to betray the Tang Empire, and then we can make him take a second oath not to betray you for example," Rosalie came up with an idea.
The oath was different but it served the same purpose. They could work more with the oath, a different oath but with the same purpose. That was a loophole they could use in the oath, and everyone looked at Lunea. She might be the only one in the room that had a deep knowledge of the oath.
"I think that will work," Lunea answered.
"The Guild Leader will take five different oaths, then his direct subordinates must take three different oaths, and the remaining God Ranks will take one oath. If the feather is that rare, they will not be able to break the oath with the feathers," Rosalie voiced her thoughts on the matter which soon received support from the others. It might be ruthless, but that was for their safety as they did not want the Fortuna Guild to turn against them.
