Chapter 78: Silver Moon Great Empress |
These were two women with very good figures.
One was dressed in elegant robes, had dignified features and an air of nobility around her. She wore gold jewelry in her hair, making her resemble a golden canary.
Elegant, noble, dignified.
The other wore a white dress that was as pure as snow. Her face was covered by a veil, so nobody could see her face.
But her eyes were like a galaxy that shone brilliantly. Her aura was just as strong as the other woman beside her.
The two women had differing styles, but there was a freezing, chilly air that surrounded their bodies, and it made the spacetime around them instantly turn into ice.
“Sacred Moon Body!”
Outside the mirror.
The pupils of the cultivators constricted as they immediately recognized who these two women were.
The Golden Crow Great Emperor had a body of the sun that could gather the essence of the sun.
And a Sacred Moon Body was basically a body of the moon, a body that could gather the soul of the moon.
There was one Golden Crow Great Emperor and two moon goddesses with him.
The two were married to him to balance him out. It was their fate.
And because of that reasoning, the moment the two women appeared, all the cultivators instantly knew who these two women had to be.
“The one with the elegant jewelry on her head must be the moon goddess Xihe, the official wife of the Golden Crow Great Emperor, right?”
“As for the one wearing a veil…”
The cultivators were stunned for a moment before all of them turned to look in the same direction.
In the same space with them stood a woman in blue robes, standing straight and quietly by herself. Her figure was curvaceous and she wore a veil, but the forehead she revealed and those galaxy-like eyes of hers helped everyone make that connection.
A face that could make the entire world fall for her was hiding behind that blue veil.
The thin veil flew gently in the wine. Her somewhat obscured features made countless cultivators’ imaginations run even wilder about what she must truly look like.
“Silver Moon Great Empress, the woman in the mirror with a veil is you, right?”
Ye Chen focused his gaze on this goddess.
She was a Great Empress, but she was a very mysterious Great Empress from ancient times.
Everyone was able to recognize her immediately not because she was also wearing a veil, but because this woman had a Sacred Moon Body.
Or rather, more accurately speaking, she used to have a Sacred Moon Body.
Back when Ye Chen travelled the world to look for Great Emperors to join his alliance to overthrow the Heavenly Emperor, this woman was one of them who responded.
At that time, when Ye Chen asked why she wanted to fight the Heavenly Emperor, she only calmly replied, “My moon body was destroyed by him.”
Those few words exuded tremendous iciness and hatred.
Back then, Ye Chen could sense the hatred that she had toward the Heavenly Emperor. It was a hatred that emanated from her very bones, so he was sure that things weren’t as simple as she had stated.
But this Great Empress was a little too aloof.
She was like a snow lotus on the top of an icy mountain, someone who kept everyone at arm’s length.
Even Ye Chen dared not dig too deep into her past.
And now, it seemed like this was a feud that started from the moment the Heavenly Emperor slew the Golden Crows.
After all, the official wife of the Golden Crow Great Emperor was her older sister.
And now, she was left all alone without her sister. So, the Heavenly Emperor must have killed her older sister back then too.
It was no wonder she wanted to kill the Heavenly Emperor.
“It’s me,” said the Silver Moon Great Empress calmly. But those two words were icy cold.
Everyone looked as though they had just put two and two together.
But actually, all of them had already made some guesses about her origin story.
They just hadn’t expected that this mysterious Great Empress from ancient times had actually met the Heavenly Emperor in such a moment.
Ye Chen’s gaze glimmered slightly.
He had been harboring thoughts toward this Great Empress for a long, long time now.
He wished he could tear that veil off to see the face hidden behind it. And now, if he could ascertain exactly what sort of feud she had with the Heavenly Emperor, he could find a way to her heart.
And once that happened, he would take her into his harem.
If he had such a mysterious Great Empress in his harem, everyone would be envious of him!
But nobody noticed that after they looked away, this Empress quietly murmured something to herself.
“If I hadn’t met you at that time, does that mean the later incidents wouldn’t have happened?”
…
Gu Changqing flew into the air and landed outside the palace.
He didn’t even throw a single glance at the woman in a veil. His eyes were fixed on the official wife of the Great Emperor.
The latter’s gaze was filled with murderous hatred and vengeance.
Her husband had died tragically and her ten children had burst into clouds of blood. Of course she was filled with hate!
She couldn’t wait to slice Gu Changqing into a thousand pieces.
But Gu Changqing didn’t seem like he intended to kill her.
“I’ll let you live so that you can understand the feeling of despair well,” he said calmly. “Everything she suffered, I think you should suffer the same.”
He did not say much and turned to head for the palace.
Behind him, a hysterical roar suddenly resounded, “Curse you! May you meet a terrible end! May you live a life of loneliness! May you never receive the love you wish for! May you never gain empathy from others! May you be betrayed by all the people closest to your heart!”
Gu Changqing stopped in his footsteps and turned back to look.
He was met with a terrifying face.
She was bleeding from every orifice and her body burst into fierce flames.
She had set herself on fire, using her own body as a sacrifice to cast this evil curse on him.
“Elder Sister!”
The woman in a veil collapsed onto the ground, tears pouring down her cheeks. She stretched her hands toward her sister as though she was trying to stop her.
But all she got in return was a fistful of ash.
“Why…why…”
“It was Brother-in-law who was wrong, why did you have to leave me for him.”
“Why did you abandon me.”
The woman’s thin veil was dyed red from blood. It seemed she had spat out a mouthful of blood.
Gu Changqing remained expressionless as he watched all of this.
In that moment, he actually saw a wisp of black murderous qi enter the woman’s body.
But the woman didn’t seem to notice at all.
Gu Changqing didn’t care about what was going on here. He just wanted to look for the little fox.
He was about to leave when he heard a whooshing sound from behind him. A sword glint came flying toward him like a dragon.
“Get lost.”
Gu Changqing waved his hand and deflected the sword glint, effectively deflecting the woman in white.
As well as her thin veil.
The thin veil was lifted.
That was a face that was indescribably gorgeous.
She looked rather young and had a little baby fat in her cheeks. She was probably around 17 or 18.
Her features were exquisite, but her skin was unusually pale.
…
Outside the mirror, the cultivators stared in astonishment at that face behind the veil. They couldn’t take their eyes off her.
She flailed in the sky, her white chiffon-like dress flying in the wind, like she was smoke rising from incense.
Everyone’s eyes were on the young woman’s face.
They felt that this young woman’s features were clean and elegant, a face that could not be ignored. Yet her expression was icy and aloof. She looked just like the snow, pure yet freezing cold.
Many people often used the phrase “as pretty as a fairy” to describe a woman’s beauty, but nobody actually knew what a real fairy looked like. But when the cultivators saw that young woman’s face, they couldn’t help but think that she had to be a fairy that had fallen from heaven.
Her beauty was definitely out of this world. They only caught a short glimpse, yet it was enough to leave a deep and lasting impression on their minds. Her face was simply unforgettable.
