    The MC lack of focus is bothering me, he starts one thing but never finishes, never goes all the way with at least one of his exercises and always ends up attracted or taken to another task...

      i agree but i think the novel would get boring if he only focused on one thing at a time instead of having variety

    The MC seems to be an empath to be able to feel the emotions of the cat. And maybe the pressure the he feels in crowds is because he feels all those emotions in grand quantities at the same time.

    This was where he had met that crying little girl whose bicycle fell into the stream, back before he was aware of the time loop.

    Gosh, reading this part made me feel a chill.
    The mutant rat (magic beast?) from the first loop in the alley and probably sewers, the young girl close to the stream that was never mentioned again, and lastly, the fact that his former crush never appeared again in each loop after being refused by the MC... this smells like a terror movie.
