she seemed to think that throwing a person overboard was a perfectly valid way of teaching people how to swim

A perfectly valid way of teaching for a “perfectly valid school of magic”. If ya know what I mean.

Not physically, of course – that would be not only childish, but would also cause people to stare at him – he was instead pushing his mana at them, trying to control them mentally.

The instinct was always there swindler

Do you recall when Zorian was complaining to his mom how he's 15 and Kirielle should be left to Fortov as he's a year older, and his mom told him she was married to his father at his age?

Hah. There might be no right answer, but Zorian knew from experience that there was always a wrong answer. Always. But he supposed that, in this particular instance, silence was the wrongest answer of them all.

    Relatable.

Resolving to be more understanding towards people was hard.

    Also relatable.

There was no sane teacher in this school, it seemed.

    Definitely relatable.

Zorian already knew something that draged him into the time loop was involving Zach's soul, he just physically/magically/theoratically couldn't possibly prove that. Zorian is 15 and fairly average mage he doesn't know shit about Soul Magic, and even if "He could make a theory based on the fact that Lich used Necromancy" than congrats, he already did, how the hell he was supposed to test it before this moment though?

I knew it. There's no other way a story about 2 time loopers could make a comprehensive sense if they didn't end and start each timeline at the exact same time. whoknows

Also, the 'brotherhood' tag is starting to make more sense welldone

I disagree with them having to start and end at the exact same time, if one started earlier then the later start just gets the modified version of the world the other created.
If one dies early like zack, or they just have different end points then one has their soul held in stasis until the other is finished.

I think there are several perfectly coherent ways of making that work.
