It's Not Easy to Be a Man After Travelling to the Future穿越未来之男人不好当

9.5/10 I first read this lightnovel on another site in around 2021, and i loved it immediately. It ticked all of the genres that I'm interested in and made them my favourite. Since then, I've been rereading the novel multiple times because I just cant get enough it of it.

I love our MC Ling Lan, she really is a bad ass, and all the side characters are so lovable and all have their own distinct character. The romantic subplot gets introduced not quite late not quite early into the story, and its very interesting. We kind of get a foretelling of how the subplot would end but I dont think the author will follow through with that if she ever decides to continue this story. () Ive heard some discourse about the love interest Li Lanfeng, that hes not likeable, but I disagree, the author manages to Id say the author is pretty skilled in writing character development

Anyways, the plot line is unique and original, the world building is also pretty good. Ling Lan doesn't start off OP, to a certain extent, and we can actually see her progress. Pacing wise, its perfect, not too fast not too slow. Its a mix of sci-fi, mecha, rebirth, crossdressing (ya know, the stuff in the tags)

Overall, this has been one of my all time favourite lightnovels, the only reason it didnt get a 10 is cuz of the slight racist undertones towards the Japanese, but it doesn't affect the entire reading experience. Additionally, the story has been discontinued since several years ago I'm not sure what Madam Ru is going through but I do hope she picks it back up again. I would love to see how the story ends.

(I made this review cuz i found the novel on ranobes after scrolling through the gender bend tag, amidst all the gooner bait. And i think the novel just doesnt get the attention it deserves. Will be rereading it now)

I will not talk too much about the book, there are enough reviews on this book, I will only say one thing, if you are not ready to tolerate vile yaoi, then it will be difficult for you to read further chapters. When I started reading, I had no idea how the love line would develop here, now I suffer. Why yaoi even though the protagonist is a woman? Because from a woman in her there is only a sexual organ, and menstruation .... And when a man constantly tries to seduce her (at the same time, he naturally does not know that she is a woman), it turns out that in the end we see a scene where our stupid MC with 0 EQ, and gay ML, here you get a real yaoi scene, and honestly, if it weren’t for an interesting plot that I was already too immersed in and just want to finish reading, I would have abandoned this book. The romance here just ruins everything.

5/5!!!! Very unique and refreshing! I'm done with the novel, but it seems like the author has dropped this already....WHICH IS I CAN NEVER ACCEPT. The revenge arc is still incomplete!! Also I WANT TO SEE ALL MY SHIPS TO SAIL! All I can do right now is to think they are stranded somewhere but will comeback soon as well This novel is one of my happy pill and once it update again, I'll reread it from the very beginning because IT IS WORTHY OF MY TIME

it's been a long long long time that this story last updated..until now im still hoping that madam ru will pity us reader and continue this novel ...this is one of the best novel that i read... fl is very cool

I was enjoying this managed to ignore the first Chinese patriotic stint (nothing wrong with patriotism but don't do down other countries). However I got further on and it became very anti-Japanese and the 'villains' are clearly Japanese origin. I want to read a novel for fun, not to be indoctrinated. I don't tolerate racism even in fiction. So this is a warning to others who don't support racism - while the story is interesting it is also racist.

The novel is very good, and really very different from the usual ones. I don't like to read furs, but this is an exception, there is everything you need. For me, there are only two minuses so far, ML is terrible, I really don't like the romantic interest here, and the second minus is that the author has dragged on too much with dressing up as a man, of course I understand that this makes sense that she is disguised as a man, but after 1400+ chapters it's time for her to come out in a female role, I'm really interested in reading where she has already appeared in front of everyone as a woman, how her friends, and podpichennye, and the whole world, what her attitude will be as a woman (especially if she goes through training with a sex instructor) is he a cold seductress stent? In general, if ML is not too disgusting to you, then the book is just super! I'm really looking forward to continuing.
