    I wonder if the Long Clan has a certain enmity with those from the Celestial Race? They are both extremely ancient bloodlines, so it's entirely possible have dealings from an earlier time. Perhaps the two of them are old enemies, in the same vein as the Violet Blood Race and Life Hunters.

    The other option is that Long Xihe is scheming to turn on Long Chen and forcibly drag him into the Long Clan. He'll defend him and try to make Long Chen owe them. That's all I can think of, but then again, I'm not a schemer. Who knows what this old coot is thinking.
