        I guess it depends on the scope ig, now that he fights for ressources that interst immortals, same for rank 4s and rank 5s, his village was in the middle of nowhere in a random mountain, so its understandable there's no rank 5, but in the Imperial Court fight, it was a grand stage that brought in the tribes of a whole region, so rank4s and 5s were more common.

        as for the increase of immortals overall, he already gave us a clue, the great era is starting.

        What I still feel like I dont understand is that rank 5s didn't seem that numerous compared to immortals, like there could be 2 or 3 rank 5s in a tribe in Northern plains, but like 6-7 immortals or more, like Hei tribe for example, maybe immortals just accumulate more because they can find lifespan gu more easily? And maybe because they survive more, while rank 5s of different generations could die in battle (older imperial court contests)?
