    Huh? Why is the human king and queen even still free? I thought they were traitors? Even if they weren't and I'm dumb that doesn't change that they don't need to be making any important decisions, seeing how all the king really is is a figurehead

      Well though they're traitors, them alive makes fighting for survival slightly easier. As u can see, with the dwarves king and queen dead valuable time and resources are being wasted just to get the dwarves as a whole back into the fold. And since they only wanted to protect their family at the cost of everyone else... their almost betrayal is more tolerable than the dwarves.

      As for decision making, Tessa's grandfather is the one with the final say. After Aldir. So they really are just there for public appeal
