That's the ongoing dilemma for letting the "state" monopolieses the "power".
If the society is so weak that means the state is tyrant. There's a delicate state of power balance between the ruler and the ruled needs to exist for preventing this form and other forms of tyranny.

Dude this is every country. Taking away the rights of citizens after a big event and calling it safety.
      America did it after 9/11
China has done it multiple times
USSR... well that one didn't work out well for them
Modern Russia is doing it rn

I'm not gonna comment on if these countries should have done it, but you can't deny that many countries do it.

I also noticed that the author is very open to other cultures so it's pretty weird how he sometimes glaze china and show other countries in a bad light 21

tbh if you look at any development and comparison index with the US then you can see that they have 0,7% child mortality which is a really f#cking bad number for supposedly richest country in the world

Dude that death rate isnt because there isnt medical availability but because of ignorance and self harm, at least how I assume. If you talk about my first comment about wealth, wealth only used means something, If not it is just virtual wealth. Those playing with billions most of them dont actually do much with their money but if they were as delusional as these guys about money, the system would have already crashed. Money is what it is a symbolic equivalence of material and service exchange, if everyone suddenly had a little bit more money equivalent of a lets say 500 billion, it would mean nothing as everyone has it, but if just one guy gets that money still nothing changes unless that guy does something drastic with the money which will earn him a back bullet suicide, only when a percentage of people get this money, it makes difference if this percentage of people is the good and smart ones, business tech etc. everything might improve a little, if they are stupid ignorant people, astrology and scams energy cults drug sellers get stronger, money could also be considered a voting power of sorts.
Also since my first comment USA has been crumbling more and more under attack from practically from most countries socially economically etc. their limited world dominance is dwindling day by day.
