    ..seriously, friends? Please, MC, have a more solid reason for argument with a don of evil organisation. You've known the guy for a day. You even successfully took revenge. Don't we all remember that the boss DIDN'T want to kill them? It's because of nr.1.

    Even for the safety's sake, couldn't he say, I can't trust you, so no? Just in case they'd prioritise catching him alive then. To fulfill his promise and show that he's trustworthy to MC.

    On the other hand, that's probably one of the most solid ways to make a modern MC not afraid of murder. He's been both tortured and experimented on. Hell, he was even hunted and witnessed genocide. Such pressure may break any moral restraints.
