    Even though it made me sad seeing all of them trying to help him and dying because of it, I hope this novel keeps the tragic route because it makes you connect with some characters and keep reading to see if they die or not.
    It also makes you feel sad, angry and/or relieved when you read, and making your reader feel those kinds of things is the mark of a great author.

      That is victimization!

      I won’t claim that the MC has taken the most intelligent course of action, but make no mistake, the Germinal Organization is the one at fault for the massacre. Here is some food for thought.

      What if a wholesome yet attractive young woman were to get cornered and raped, then drugged and taken to the creeps home to be trapped in his basement for six months. Then the opportunity came where she managed to escape after killing one of her captors but was being hunted down by the rest. She was fortunate enough to come across some caring people who took her in, fed her, and clothed her. She, exhausted from the emotional and physical trauma makes a mistake that leads the captors to the caring people who then are brutally murdered. Is she at fault? No! She was trying to survive.

      Our protagonist is stuck in a very similar situation. He didn’t ask to be brainwashed and manipulated. He didn’t want the have his brains dissected. He was trying to survive. Making a few mistakes in a high stress situation does no make you the fault.
