        nah. I'm thinking one epoch one transmigrator. Zhou is 5th, Roselle 4th, so the first one is on the 3rd. I'm led to believe by my own reasoning and other's comments, this is Earth and old Earth is 1st Epoch because ancient sun god lived on 2nd Epoch and at that time human was minority.

        So during 1st Epoch something happened that make monsters/giants/elves/whatnot walk on Earth, 2nd Epoch ASG came to prominence. 3rd Epoch ASG fallen and 8 deities became orthodox gods. 4th Epoch is Roselle, 5th Epoch is Zhou Mingrui.

        It was confirmed the gray fog space is from Sheer pathway, that's why Roselle somehow wrote that he regret not choosing Sheer. That's also why Zhou woken up, because Roselle became Sequence 0 on other pathway. From this you can infer that that first cocoon is a current Sequence 0 of other pathway among the current deities!

        Also from all the clues thrown here and there, somehow Zhou Mingrui magically became a Blessed of Evernight........... wiseacre

        This is my conjecture as this is my first read. No spoiler, all pure thoughts.
