      As good will be subjective, but it is definitely of similar quality (though it's probably personally my least favorite volume. Though that's not saying much as I think they're all very good). The ending of it is just as good as the previous, and the side characters that come in soon are great. I assume you've already gotten to miss bodyguard. But there's also a fellow detective met later that is great and a few others. Along with the few major action pieces that happen in it

    One thing that has always annoyed me is Viscount is a titular title. Which means its not hereditary so all lands and titles return to the king upon the death of the Viscount. It's basically an honorary nobility title given to those that prove themselves worthy

      You expect him to go work as clown?
      I think it was stated before, that to digest the potion one needs to abide the principles in everyday life, not literally do divinations as seers or funny things as clown. Such as for Seers: "fear and respect the fate"
      For clowns, I think the main principle is to hide your true self behind the facade.

                What I'm saying is that right here, at this point in the story, it felt like he wasn't digesting the potion. The emphasis is on 'felt'. That's the most important part. The explanation doesn't matter if it's only in the author's head or way down the line.

                  Its heavily hinted at through his "brilliant" smiles and his outbursts.
                  Along with that I'm pretty sure he mentioned the acting principle back in vol 1.

                  Not everything needs to be spoon-fed, some of it just requires a little extra thinking.

                  I do remember seeing that and thinking it seemed forced/didn't make much sense lol. Like he starts bawling his eyes out at one point, just seemed weird at the time. I'm guessing the author got a lot of criticism for how this was handled when he wrote it and so he didn't make this mistake through the rest of the book.

                  In other words: it was an issue, many people pointed it out, the author corrected it from then on. No problem. If it was fine, the author would have continued in this style for the rest of the book. He didn't.

      Everytime he smiles when in reality he is feeling pain he is acting as how he understands clowns.

      That helps him digest the potion.

      And he has been doing that a lot lately.
