    Im wondering what affect having his beyonder characteristic taken will have.

      Beyonder characteristics takes time to form after death. As we know azik was there atmax 10 minutes after his death, ince zangwill could not have taken his characteristics

    Man, I guess this is it. My suppressed tears really flowed when Melissa cried, she was a favorite character of mine I was even having a wishful thinking that she would became a beyonder.
    However, I think Klein would use this opportunity to sever ties with them and not expose them to the world of beyonder. He even said previous chapters ago where he was thinking about having a relationship but quickly dismiss the idea because of his goal to return to his original world, and his siblings are already enough baggage as it is.
    However the good thing for the Morreti Siblings is that this how their brother dies, a hero, a brother who improves their situation and not a brother who die of suicide.
    So, I guess this is goodbye for them gloom

    I’m thinking about how people would react if Klein resurrected mid funeral, like if I was a priest and the guy I was burying just got up I’m not sure what Id do.

    At 2 Daffodil Street, Melissa sat on the sofa, inspecting the three tickets in her hands. She was looking at the words, the printed date, and the seat numbers.

    Occasionally, he would feel puzzled about why the “murderer” would only take away Klein’s Beyonder characteristic and leave Captain Dunn Smith’s one intact.

    Huh... Perhaps Klein didn't leave behind a Beyonder characteristic that they could find because he didn't die in the first place.

    This might be a good opportunity to start a fresh life, without any past ties or responsibilities. In any case, it is not like he can just easily show up as Klein tomorrow and continue working as a Nighthawk. But let's see what he chooses.

    Also, Mr. Azik might have been aware that Klein isn't exactly dead:
    1) He is a High Sequence Beyonder of the Death Pathway, so if there is anyone that would know Klein isn't dead, it would probably be him.
    2) He didn't join the public ceremony but instead waited for the night. There is no apparent reason for this behaviour, he is Klein's teacher and could very well join the ceremony.
    3) He didn't take the Copper Whistle, which is a Sealed Artifact. Such an object is no joke. You can't just leave something like that behind, be it because you don't need it or because you want it to stay as a sign of respect.
    4) He didn't show much emotions for someone who lost their past student, or for someone that have no one else to truly trust at the moment. If not for Klein, he might not even have remembered his past.
    5) Rather then the apology of not being able to prevent his death, his apology feels like one for just not being able to help with the situation.

        It was implied that it couldn't be found, which they might (understandably) interpret as it getting stolen. But they don't know that Klein is still alive.
