      Its both the "power level gauge" and mana it seems, cuz he needs stronger spirituality for ritual and remember how he only could enter the fog world for a short time before becoming a beyonder ? So he could not sustain it for long, same with spirit vision. Altho its also the case of proficiency

    I remember he is in his 1st month this Monday after transmigrating. He got recruited for around 3 weeks already, and for paying the advance payment of 12 pounds, with each week 1,5 pounds, he still have 7,5 pounds of cut. Around another 5 weeks. After that, he could enjoy the whole tasty 6 pounds to himself, noice!! Not to mention he inevitably have to save the remaining 3 pounds for another 16 weeks if he abide by his promise of keeping his raise for half a year. Thats a whooping 48 pounds!! Huhueh buayh!!

        Of all the sequences we’ve been told about, savant is the only one that might fit. Granted, it could still be one of the other…. 11? Or so sequences we haven’t met yet.
        Seer, sleepless, midnight Pryer, corpse collector. Seafarer, spectator. Savant, apprentice. Monster. marauder, assassin.

        So that’s half the pathways that have either made an appearance in person, or Klein at least read something about them in Neil’s papers or roselle’s diary (or discussed the monster pathway with Neil out loud). The other 11 are still mysteries at this point.

        Based on only this scene, it’s not too unreasonable to suspect the apothecary of being a savant pathway, whose speciality lies less in engineering and construction, and more in herbology and cross pollination. As a first time reader, that would’ve been my guess, up until I saw the many downvotes on that guy’s comment.

      Firstly that's my first read, so it's just my humble opinion amd not a spoiler, but I think he would be more like a shaman than a savant tbh, i don't even know if 'shaman' is even a potion that exists, but I feel that it would describe him more accurately
