    Wasn’t it established that you could just put wood in there? They are losing 40% of their potential shield for maybe some time saved? Prices in this novel are kind of bunk anyways, especially the earlier gathering based prices. They were prices that literally only she could benefit from, in 90% of scenarios, with the 10% being a super abundance of one resource that could be mined at night or something and a lack of another resource that could be gathered only at day, requiring potions (i.e. future mana) to harvest more of.
