    The schemes and intrigues are cool, but I was constantly haunted by the feeling that for some reason I didn’t really like it. Now I thought about it and understood why. Because all this surprise and schemes only work because the author stupidly didn’t tell us enough about the worldbuilding, and besides, this worldbuilding itself is very vague and gives room for maneuver. That's why I don't really like it.

    This is crazy. On one hand I think just this plot alone warrants praise for the novel, but I’m also worried that the author won’t be able to continue at this level. If it keeps up this level of twists then it should be a top novel alongside the other greats
