No offense intended but that means you don't have media literacy and the ability to infer. The idea that are explored here are things that exist in the real world. They are sources of real conflic where thousands if not million shave died for/because of

Do you think I don't know about the world wars lol???

I don't agree with racial cleansing and most of the pro Aran (Aryan) sentiments but I can see why its used in the story...

What I don't understand is why people who cant separate reality from fiction are reading to this point all butthurt about the main premise (Racism against alien's pretending to be a race of people) that has been here since chapter 1??

Media literacy and having the ability to infer doesn't mean anything in this context your just being a smart ass.. boast

The thing is it's very difficult to see them in different lights when people are villing to call other people aliens just beacse they are from another country or culture. Fiction is a reflection of reality. No human can ever write the emotions of an alien it's always a projection of human emotions.

Maybe I was a little smart assie, but tend to that direction when I'm about to sleep

People need the ability to separate Reality from fiction.

Fiction is a reflection of reality to the point it isn't.

The Ezenheim (a parallel to real world jews) are the overarching bad guys in this story, but that doesn't mean the person reading the story who (should) understand the context needs to hate jews because the Ezenheim are evil...

That's a stretch and its a weird thing to imply ngl.

Going back to my original point I am confused why people who should have the ability to recognize fiction from reality are reading the book to this point which made the tone clear from chapter 1 and are still getting angry.

Well, IRL most people do have a hard time differentiating fiction from reality aka lies from the truth even in contexts which are supposed to represent reality like "news" or history lessons. I mean, speaking of "news" remember how many people had been legit convinced a few years ago that Trump was a Russian agent/had been installed by Putin. That was obviously all made up by malicious actors still... how many swallowed that crap hook line and sinker?!

Speaking of history. How many people believe that what happened just was some Austrian infantry corporal just shaved his beird into a funny mustache and it had such strong hipnotic properties that for no other reason whatsoever countless millions fell into a trance to do whatever the heck he said. And he also wrote a book that was worse than the Necronomicon by the propensity for corrupting human souls that it has to be banned even 100 years after initial publication.

It's not your fault. Everyone, in fact everything in the world follows the law of stability. To gain such stability, we humans invented peace, and to maintain that peace we used non-violence as a measure. But then again, we humans are far too complex, for our own gains, in the name of peace we waged wars, used progandist reforms, discrimination, racial heirchy, to establish our need, and thus, the situation rn, wars and wars, all in the hope of frequent Selfishness of us humans. So yeah, it may look disgusting as times and it may look right even beautiful at times, but, it will happen and continue to happen until the end of humanity.

Bro, this is just fiction: invented charachters acting in an imaginary world. It doesn't work like that in real life. And the real historical events that this novel alludes to were not like that at all. There are no lessons to be learned from this nor moral dillemas to be had. Because none of this is real. I mean, we are talking about a dude regressing and being tasked with saving the world alone, ffs. Just enjoy the novel.

That’s normal mate, everyone goes through that. This contradictory feeling of liking something and knowing it’s wrong. Some might not care about the controversial developments of this novel, some might even like them. Most of them went through such a moment, as have I.
What I believe now is that entertainment and humour should have free expression. Offensive jokes aren’t funny , and offensive jokes that are funny, aren’t offensive. Keep an open mind and enjoy the good things in life.

Same, but it's great to be conflicted. It allows us to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves. Just remember to actually use your own real life experience to reflect on things. One of the largest failings nowadays is basing most of our values on information we've only seen online.

IMHO, fictional/non real situations can't serve as meaningful grounds for self-reflection as a matter of principle. Because they are not real.

E.g. the "train car dilemma" is fake and useless, because the situation is fake and not real. In a realistic situation you'd have at best a split second or two to make the decision. As such, pondering for hours over the sort of thing can't in principle possibly lead to any meaningful realizations useful in real life. Since the situation is fake any conclusion you may reach would be false. Similarly the "lifeboat dilemma" and the rest of the stuff like that.

Wow, way to misinterpret my comment. Where did I say fictional situations can serve as grounds for self-reflection?

I even clearly wrote that reflection should be based on real, personal experiences...

What does it have to do with it, lol. Reality and fiction, the line is very thin, sides of one coin. To say there's nothing to be learned from is nonsense. Especially self reflection, learning and defining more about yourself, these "not real, fake and useless" situations and books are deeply useful. The difference from "real" in such is not much, it's only impact, only distance. Memory and imagination are made of the same stuff. Imagination is a way to put yourself in places from the comfort of your current position.

E.g. with the train car example, it may be fake, but your thoughts on it are real. It doesn't matter whether it's real or not, in fact, you wouldn't learn much about yourself were you to be actually forced to make a choice like that irl. Not to mention, being traumatized and having even more to work through. It's thinking that matters, the act of introspection itself, and those thought experiments as well as these novels are food for thought. To explore and appreciate countless perspectives, they are not meaningless at all.

It's good that you are disgusted. There are very radical views being expressed here. If you enjoy it for the ideas then... we'll we know what kind of person you are. Racism is something that exists in all cultures. It's not just news and blacks that face it. These two are the the spotlight because the Europeans and the Americans are the victors of a war that gained them enormous soft power.
Also the various atrocities conducted by European colonies are ignore or just written off their textbooks silently. And no media will question it since there is no foundation for them to stand on.

Well, I don't enjoy such views, but I can understand where they may be coming from. E.g. when the Russia-Ukraine war started - about 50% of jews living in Russia left the country with the expectation of up to 75% eventually to leave. That's data that has been officially published by the government of Israel, btw. And they left for Israel (and other NATO countries), and we do know that the Mossad and the CIA are basically one and the same organisation. And they are very keen on "working" with new arrivals.

So, imagine that you are a responsible politician. And you have the hard data that among some distinct demografic group at least half are potential traitors who, should things go south, are going to run to your enemies with any state secrets and capital etc. that they may hold. Not to mention their extreme over-representation in any and all 5th column movements. So, imagine that you are a responsible politician that expects some kind of a war in the future, who has this data on hand and really cares aboutthe future of his country and his people. What is he to do?

The Emperor and Princess Justine be like: "Boy, that escalated quickly! It really got out of hand!"

I mean, Maximilian's current standing in the Empire equals and surpasses that of Napoleon Bonaparte at his apex. He has hit peak populism. No person or force to counter him can exist, including the Emperial Family itself. The Emperor seems to exist in the Empire much more as an institution than a personality - he doesn't show his face to the masses and as such actually lacks any personal popular support. And all of his power is institutional. Historically this can serve as an advantage in times of peace, but in times of turmoil and war this is a most fatal weakness... as so many rulers have come to learn the hard way.

Are we actually getting an FMC?! I actually dislike MCs who neglect love life/personal relations. Like OK - you are saving the World and all... but why does the process have to suck with no fun allowed? And anyways, if you believe in your victory - you can even have some kids along the way of saving the World. You are doing it for them, are you not?

Furthermore, like hardly any real life great hero (or villain) in history had been celibate or whatnot.

Yes, Schatz - she is basically MC's shadow and seems to be interested in a deeper relationship. Another ship was Filty - MC considers her to be the only person in the World qualified to stand beside him. Albeit having a clairvoyant girlfriend is a bit iffy. Sonnet is going to be shipped - I think the Emperor would want our MC to marry har to better control the MC. Another one is that radical girl from Prozen - MC considers her to be a legit great hero. Justine - probably not. Yelena - also unlikely. Hannah - possible, but unlikely.

Well, I kind of agree with your analysis. I’m sceptical regarding his romantic endeavours, but were I to consider this proposition seriously, this wold be my thought process.

I don’t believe that with his subordinates, shadows or others, he will go any further than banter. He requires a woman to fit his stature, as the, de facto, face of the Empire. A woman without a social standing would, if not destroy, stain the pristine image.

Sonnet is a candidate. And pretty much the only one. Yelena is one, but not much interaction between them. Justine is one, but in this case, politics will be paramount. If both were willing, such a union might not even happen. Only when f.e. he becomes so powerful even the Emperor wants some of that power, would they have a chance. Maybe even be forced into it.

I personally ship Filty. She is the only person who can really know the truth of our MC and with whom he can truly be himself. No need to keep up any pretences and facades in front of her. The sort of thing is very important.

As for the stature thing, I don't think this is important. Our MC is like the most powerful with most people being afraid to even utter his name. He can pick like anyone - even a monkey from the zoo as his wife and nobody can say anything. As a historical example there are Napoleon and his Josephine, who would have been a very controvercial pick - a commoner widow who had even been older than Napoleon. Yet he crowned her Empress...

Filty might be suitable, as she has potential to truly understand his motivation and his endeavours. Not contesting that.

I still think social status is important. You take napoleon as an example. I sustain that the situations are different. For one, he is not the emperor. That might not change much, until you take into account that he is playing a perfect imperial. With the right ideology, manners, and bearing befitting a noble. Should this veneer fall, that would be indication that he is not what he claims to be. Or, at least, an alarm that he can hold views that are incongruent with the imperial culture. Also keep in mind that he is powerful, but only to the extent the emperor allows him to. He has not ascended the seat.. yet?

Another, for me more compelling reason. Even if he were to become the emperor, with unmatched power, his main goal is still the crusade against the Ezenheim. He chose to approach the fight from an ideological standpoint, by moulding the imperial system to his will. He still has to be very political about his actions. For them to be congruent with his political identity, for the imperialists to follow him. An outright break from it, like the rejection of noble marriage, would, if not destroy, cool off his relations with other nobles, diminish his image in the eyes of the public, and give ammunition to his political rivals. The „image of Aran” would cease to be. Noble families would actively suppress such a notion. What he fears at this point is, to my mind, not vocal opposition, but malicious compliance, dragging feet and a lack of belief in his cause. A marriage with a commoner would be a very risky move on his part.

Anyway, I don’t particularly care about this, just sharing my thoughts. Maybe this could be possible after the end of his mission? If there is such a thing…

I think that you are right. I just want our MC to be happy and blow off some steam once in a while. Albeit, he doesn't have to get married immediately and can just have a GF. All things considered the optimal GF for him is going to be Schatz. MCs partner is obviously going to be targeted by all manner of terrorists and malicious actors. And Schatz not only is going to be strong enough to contend with Sebastian, but she also has great stealth/invis. Our MC wouldn't have to worry about her safety at the very least.
