      I'm only commenting this for this current chapter since I haven't read far yet but I can only assume his dad must have multiple wives, like that other guy (Forgot his name already lmao, that kid who got one shot and think Zhang Yu isn't his match since he's poor.) I remember it was mentioned that out of the many offspring his dad's had, he was the only one to reach that high-so I guess Zhang Yu's dad is kinda like that but more of a scum? And his mom-knowing his dad wanted her son to be like him. Idk just theorizing.
