    It's hard to feel a special type of rage at the situations of this human cattle when most carnivorous apex species likely have a similar setup in a city or two. The story is trying to paint all distasteful actions of the beastmen on the lionkin, and a little bit on the foxkins. It's like trying to paint all the horrors of slavery on the nobility when the merchants were all in on their sale so much that a nobody like Quin can waltz in and get a slave for a week's pay. Just the nobles/lionkin are more visibly enthusiastic on keeping things the way they are so they can partake
