    Not quite sure what people meant by a rushed romantic plotline. Since her introduction (which was incredibly coincidental as the whole arc with nameless X) we could clearly see that their relationships ment to be romantic, throughout following arcs they got a development from friendship to love. If I’m not mistaken characters spend about 1,5 year together whereas they go to missions and participate in skirmish war. Considering that this novel isn’t 600+ chapters long, thank god, it’s rather well paced.

    Yeah, deifinatly forced. But honestly Marie has been a forced character this whole time. The relationship he has with his allies all made sense, but Marie was just forced on him for a powerplay, and somehow it worked.
    Also, why is she ignoring him at the begging, he just killed a guy for messing with you. Then proceeded to risk his life to climb to your tower. Can the guy at least get a good welcome?

      She tries to distance herself from him. Their last meeting ended up not on a good note. So to not stir up her feelings she is trying not to be emotional though she obviously is. To settle this question on whether or not he loves her she asks him directly.

      She might’ve asked him about duel when they were talking but I doubt it would bring any changes because she knows that he wasn’t hurt( there’s not many beings that poses a real threat to him).

        I mean I can see what you mean in the sense that it was inevitable, from that angle then yeah I suppose it did take quite long.
        I was kinda expecting him to save her, not marry her, but be forced to spend time with her then grow into a relationship that way and maybe at the end of the story does he fully accept her.

        Tbh I didn't really like her character anyway and didn't want her to be the FL but oh well.
