        Disagree. Due to education, High nutrition, Regularl interacting with abstract ideas, Complex Mordern systems etc. Mordern people are more intelligent than ancient people. look up flynn effect. Just knowing abstract ideas like maths and stuff will help with your capacity to tackle problems.
