    It’s like every time his strength increases enough that he can defy fate and save who he wants to save his regression point gets updated. When his regression point got updated the first time he had Nascent soul level strength in the lower realm, enough to do whatever he wanted after the ascenders left. Now that he’s reached the Heavenly Being realm in all three paths he could easily save the Golden Lightning sect, but he’s denied the ability to do so by the updated regression point.

    I think Regression point is fixed after he saw ■■■. I mean, the first time he saw ■■■, he lost his conscious and opened his eyes in Bright Cold Realm. From that point onwards that become his new checkpoint. Now he saw the same ■■■, but Hong Fan forcefully awakened him before entering the realm and saw the bizarre life form. I think his regressing power must have some connection to the ■■■. But hey it's just a theory.
