Nah this is pretty close to published book quality. Yall read too many damn webnovels and think that those extremely poorly written and overexplained novels are "good writing" so you can't wrap your head around this more flowery writing styles.

Even lotm falls under that. While the book is insanely good, the writing is not the best out there. It's simple and to the point. And definitely not flowery as this novel is.

Nah this is pretty close to published book quality.

This is pure exaggeration. This isn't anywhere near 'published book quality' Published books do not have such random jumps from scene to scene. In a published book, even if you took out the scenes and placed them one after another - without any separator - you would instinctively be able to feel that a new scene has started. That is not the case here.

While I do agree with your statement about webnovels. Most of them are rather simplistic. But LOM on its own has a relatively complex plot, so its simplistic writing style perfectly matches that.

And most people read as a form of relaxation and overly complex writing can be off-putting.

technically there is no rule for publish books, unless specified by law... what you are saying is basically an opinion, by someone on how a book should be

There's only one rule: Engage the reader. Everything else doesn't matter
i very much agree on this one

Man, you just had your brain re-wired to be able to read MTL and chinese novels to the point that you can't tell when grammar and transitions are dog shite.

        What a lie!
Pretty close to published book quality my ass
This book is so hard to read
I have a feeling it will be interesting at a point.
But the way the author jumps from one scene to another is off-putting.
But It just feels like I'm reading to pass an exam at this point.
