Have to somewhat disagree with the principal here. Just because the worst case scenario didn't happen it doesn't mean all should be forgiven. There was an intent to rob the grave and an intent to kill. If there is intent then he is more than in the right to take it out on them and make them take responsibility for their actions.

  Yeah the principle is really an Idiot. Are they supposed to wait until one of them dies or after their graves have already been robbed before defending.
  
  Also saying 'everything might not be as it seems' is a stupid argument. Is the MC supposed to forgive everything, not react to anything, because his enemies might have a good reason!?
  
  I get not going to far, but he is a new student. Mercy and the ability to hold back is a privilege of the strong. He is being suppressed by an entire faction! Can he hold back? Can he even survive if doesn't fight back.
  
  Making sure things dont escalate and people dont go overboard because they are left with no way out is the Principles AND elders job they seem to forget this.
