The first quarter of the story is alright, but things get absurd and lose all sense of logic and historical verisimilitude in favor of Chinese nationalism biases.

For example, the stuff relating to the American Civil War as well as large scale ethnic replacement in various regions have no basis in realism.

Hi, can anyone tell me which chapter Franz taught his son how to rule a country? In that section, he talked about first strengthening his position, etc.

Haven’t finished it but I have read over 700 chapters and it’s pretty good. It has politics, economics, military action and all that. I was expecting much more glaze toward china since the novel is Chinese, but it’s quite mild. Would have been even better if there wasn’t any and if some of the povs were shortened, but still overall a solid read. Rated it 5/5. It’s not perfect but if something like nine star hegemon or similar slop has a rating of 3.8 I gotta give this a 5 star review.

If you love political scheming, betrayals, and backstabbing disguised as diplomacy, Holy Roman Empire is for you. It’s a novel where war isn’t about heroism but strategy, and alliances are just temporary conveniences. The MC, despite reincarnating from the future, isn’t some genius inventing new tech- he just bets on trends and plays the political game like a pro.

The story stays true to the brutal reality of 19th-century politics, where war crimes are the norm, and there’s no such thing as humanitarian law. While the MC enacts laws to improve people's lives, his primary motive is economic growth and strengthening the empire. He isn’t a mindless tyrant, but he’s also not a humanitarian- human rights crises are ignored if they stand in the way of greater benefits.

While the main focus is on Austria’s rise through diplomacy and war, you also get glimpses of soldiers, common folk, and foreign rulers reacting to the chaos. It makes the world feel alive.

There’s no overpowered protagonist here- just cold, calculated moves and realistic power struggles. If you’re into deep political maneuvering without the usual "industrial revolution cheat," this is a must-read.

The main drawback, in my view, is that foreign leaders are almost too smart. Every major power’s minister seems to catch on to the MC’s overall strategy or make political moves that create obstacles for him. However, the situation isn’t hopeless. The MC plays the long game- distracting rivals with colonial expansion while staying watchful, like a hawk, ready to reestablish the Holy Roman Empire when the other powers least expect it.

Solid 7/10 ⭐ (In my humble opinion, of course).

So, [Holy Roman Empire] is about the Emperor of Austria using future knowledge to guide his country. He’s not pulling off any crazy tech feats, just smart moves like betting on electricity.
The story’s engaging, realistic, and well-written. Definitely worth a read!
