Raydon stared dazedly at the holographic texts floating in front of his eyes.

''How did I end up in such an event? ''

In a world with advanced technology and full-dive VR games, Raydon is the only person who has earned the "God" title thanks to his accomplishments and talent in games.

But, due to some unexpected events, he lost his life and awoke in a different world.

In this world, which appears to be similar to his own, he discovered that there are awakened people known as Item Holders.

He soon became an item holder himself and started taking part in matches against other worlds to level up and get items with different skills.

Using the abilities and knowledge that had given him the "God" title in his previous life, he started to make strides toward becoming a true God in this world.

***

Remember to read the auxiliary chapter( Important Explanations) if you have any questions about the system or item holder terminology.

***

Keep in mind that MC is, at heart, just a gamer who considers his life to be a game. He has a rational mind, but he'll make irrational decisions if it means more excitement, fun, and loot for him.

Good novel but you have to get through a lot before it becomes great. I'm going to break the story down into an A-plot and B-plot since it doesn't really change the status quo until chapter 220 or something like that (whenever he returns to his family).

The A-plot is pretty simple with the MC continuously doing the games or whatever inheritances he can in order to get XP. He's pretty much addicted to these matches. Yes, there is tropes during it where the MC starts naked the first two matches which leads to his team ignoring him but that's fine since he's mainly a solo player and pretty much after the third match, his teammates are unimportant. There is also the trope that the MCs Title is so powerful that it takes 1 million XP in order to level up both his Title and Level(His title allows him to use XP to upgrade his stat points but it only works on the Stamina stat until he levels up the title) so he stays level 1 for a long time. This fixes itself around chapter 274(which btw, is probably one of the best plot twists I've seen in a story in a long ass time) and becomes a lot more normal since it's found out that the System he uses is too weak to accomodate him and he had to get a system upgrade.

Plot-B is that the MC ends up teaching a small group of thugs trying to get by and protect their "family" some skills to protect themselves and they eventually start to become Awakeners because of the training. This leads that small group to eventually start a cult to worship the MC(he knows they think he is their master but doesn't know they are starting to follow him as if he's god). This leads to all of the major groups in the city into the misunderstanding that the MC and this now evergrowing Cult of Awakeners are the disciples of a High-ranker. So pretty much the classic misunderstanding trope.

Honestly, its pretty good with the A-plot being a lot better than the B-plot but like I mentioned earlier, once you get to chapter 220 or whenever he returns to his family, the Plot is thrown upside down and becomes great with the plot twist around chapter 274. I don't like to be that guy who says "Oh, just read 500 chapters because that's when it get's really good" but I'd honestly reccomend getting to that point before dropping.

Being noble, being away from the family, being expelled from the family, not knowing the family, such beginnings are really boring now. I dont recommend shitty novel.

This serie is bad for very simple reasons and no it's no the story or characters it's because nothing happens I mean this serie has right now 208 chapters I can say if you take all the repetitive shit that it has status page explanation of items and such at most the serie would be 50 chapters

Read to Chapter 34. The game part of it is fairly decent but, as with basically all of these types of novels, the real life part is a letdown. Mostly because what happens is just too cliche/annoying/not believable.

We are told at the start that he became an extremely rich and successful Gamer, but pissed people off in the process, including someone who was apparently powerful enough to basically destroy his entire career. He got betrayed by everyone and decided in the end to suicide a truck-kun into that guys car.

Despite that, he is fine with his teammates in the game abandoning him at the start and he later saves them without any apology being made. And then, in the real world, he protects a gang which tried to rob him because the leader was going to sacrifice himself for his brothers. Then he goes back to their gang and, after a meal, offers to be their backer and train them for literally no reason or benefit whatsoever.

His behaviour within the game can be somewhat excused since its clear he's a full-on Gamer within it (not letting go of any Loot or EXP etc.) But becoming the backer of this random gang just because the leader would sacrifice himself for his brothers? If he was a normal/somewhat emotional person, then that could be somewhat believed [though its still a stupid decision to make on his first day in the world without any proper knowledge of pretty much ANYTHING, including his own background, and having only met them for a short time]. But this MC was literally betrayed by everyone in his past life to the point where he, at only 27 years old, bought a truck and did a murder-suicide. Him suddenly believing in people again with this just seems waaaaay too rushed and not at all believable.

There's also typical misunderstandings, arrogant nobles, MC was disowned due to being a vegetable etc.

It's also pretty annoying that he didn't have any reaction to the female noble teammate deciding that the team should abandon him at the start, and that when he was with the gang for the meal some random girl continued to speak out against him for no reason, and continue to do so despite the leader telling her repeatedly to stop and shut up.

Hey I know you, we’ve discussed in the comments of some novels before.

I feel like you’re ignoring the reason they give as to the whole gang thing. He was betrayed by everybody, they go out of their way to describe that he doesn’t really understand a relationship not based off what what you can get off the other person.

He got involved because he wanted to see more about that sort of loyalty and see if he could get it applied to him. He also empathizes with their circumstances a little.

Besides, it’s not like he put any real effort into “training” them lol, he just told them to drown each other, said some pretty words and ghosted them for like a week.

I can sorta see that as an excuse, though it also brings up the question of why he chose to remain a solo player previously, before his downfall.

We are told in Chapter 1 that:
        and

It just seems completely stupid to not join a team or guild when he clearly craved attention and familial love. Given how successful he was there is absolutely 0 chance that he wasnt flooded with these requests. But let's assume he had some reason to deny them, or he didn't really realise he cared about that stuff until after the betrayal/downfall.

It's still hella stupid of him to take this one encounter and the short time he's known them as what they're actually all like. Surely from the betrayal he should know that people can pretend to be loyal until it counts - all that scene with the gun did was show the leader having fierce loyalty to his brothers, so he should've focused on just him, not the whole gang and assume that they are all the same way.

I stopped after he agreed to train them, so didn't see the actual training. Its good that he didn't put a ton of effort into it for no reason, but the more I consider his circumstances, the more dumb this MC seems to be to me.

When you consider how, despite being completely ignorant of pretty much everything around him, he is fine with picking a fight with another Item Holder, who is ranked higher than him, on a whim, it just seems dumb. Surely he'd be more careful about making enemies given how his previous life showed him how easily it was for someone in power to ruin him and drive him to murder-suicide. And that was in a world without Magic, Powers, Skills etc.

I will say that the game part of this is still interesting to me. In fact I wouldn't have given this a chance at all if it wasn't for your comment where you described the mechanics, since they are good imo. I just don't think this MC is gonna be a good fit for me if he's gonna make decisions/choices like he has here.

Good story. Pretty enjoyable so far.

If the other comments have put you off, I’ll illuminate you all on the MC’s mechanics here

Some cliches, some misunderstandings, interesting worldbuilding and system. MC is former VR champion, so he’s incredibly skilled in all sorts of techniques - which is his main advantage in this new world. He’s smart enough to pick up on the misunderstandings and play them in his favor.

I recommend giving it a shot.
