    Franca also noticed many newly built cathedrals, belonging respectively to the Church of The Fool, Eternal Darkness Church, and the Ruler of Calamity Church-the three mainstream faiths in the world today.

    The driver pointed to the golden sun ornament on the dashboard and smiled. "Ever since I stole it, I can't turn them off."

    Glad I picked this back up on 2/23/25. I did drop it around chapter 40 back on 09/06/25 because it felt so boring after reading LOTM. Took me about 5 weeks to finish this novel.
    The ending felt like a slice of life chapter. Enjoyed the somewhat current happy ending. It did feel a bit crammed with the fast pace feel. I would have liked a more extended ending.
    Ended up liking Lumian as an Mc when he ended up being told the truth of his “Uniqueness” compared to everyone else. Lumian being a non transgressor, leaning towards self destruction and being used a pawn by the gods didn't give me any excitement after his fights. Still liked his ruthlessness and brutal fighting. He killed almost all his enemies.
    COI definitely did not emit the same emotions LOTM did. When Klein did an exaggerated smile, killed the swindler that orchestrated his death and Captain Dunn’s death, Madame Daly’s death and his demigod moment. The hype and goosebumps in those chapters compared to this novel were more memorable.

    I’m so happy the 4 of them get to travel and be happy. Lumian’s original body is standing guard and maintaining the mirrored dreamscape, letting everyone experience the pre-epoch history. I hope the rest of the baboon society is able to explore his dreamscape at will.

    And Klein created additional bodies for the consciousnesses of everybody inside Lumian. Mayor cheek absolutely took me out, that was the funniest thing possible lmao. God I love this fake city with its very real emotions.

    How fitting I finished COI on the day in years after LOTM released

    And thus ends the Lord of the Mysteries Saga

    im definetly gonna read both the books again later

    started on 4:40 am gmt+5:30 jan 6th 2026,

    took last 2 weeks of jan and entire feb as a break

    started reading again on march 11th from ch 230,

    finished at 10:03 pm gmt+5:30 tuesday mar 31, absolutely peak story, so glad i persevered through the second volume to get till here

    i can’t wait for a third book, although i know the chances are very low.

    i would love a spin-off where it’s just a slice of life, but that too has a low chance

    see you all in the next one, i’ll prob reread after 6 months
