    It really doesn't make sense that Elodie, who has sacrificied so much for the sake of her children, would take her own life without thinking about how they would feel.

    This just annoys me, because Elodie has shouldered everything on her own she takes it upon herself to take her own life. Not knowing she’s doing more harm than good. It’s detrimental to not share your burden with others that care for you

      Peeps are disappointed and saying this is forced death but I find it perfectly natural. Those people who have only seen poverty but never really felt it can never understand the mentality of poor people. They think differently, they rationalize differently, their solutions target different kind of efficiency. Cuttle tried to explain a bit of it with the conversation of Julien and Elodie but still fell short. Cuttle has really good understanding of poor people which we can see from writing of lotm. And I can understand it too, not because im poor but my grandparents from both my parent's sides are. Fortunately my dad had good education from church and got out of poverty but that was way later in life. Its hard to put in words. Its not that poor people love money over everything but its the neccessity of it that they try to cramp it in every single thought and rationale. If Elodie had better understanding of how much Celia can earn as a beyonder then I assure you she wouldn't have made this choice instead she'd even live more extravagantly. But she doesn't and when she heard that her recovery might take a year with such expensive treatment her mind instantly went to the hardships she has endured till now and how she had to sacrifice everything including her dream of becoming an actor. She is a passionate person which we can see from how she carried herself even in cleaning job. She knew her dreams and passions would never come true but she had hoped that with current situation at least her children wouldn't have to sacrifice their dreams and ambitions. But now, here expenses would put their family's finances years behind with debts. Keep in mind that shes not aware of beyonder's earning limits. Just like how Celia had to be reminded by Lumian to not worry about money as a beyonder. As for emotional damage to her children? From her view, they are both adults and will move forward in no time. Yes, they might feel sad for a year or two but eventually they will make their own families and move on. But this is their prime time to earn and enjoy that for themselves. One of the commenter said she's selfish but shes not. In her mind all her calculations were about her children and their dreams. If only Celia had more time to explain her powers to Elodie.
