After dropping this around chapter 33 back in September 2025. I finally picked it back up on 2/23/26. Forced myself to read this until it got interesting. The reality and dream being flipped was a nice twist. Seeing Aurore dying along with his close friends sucked. Personally, I still liked the first Volume of LOTM better. Need to see more of Klein! Hopefully, Lumian grows on me and I come to like his character more.

He subconsciously leaned over and realized that there was a small human-shaped indentation on the slightly aged white cotton swaddling cloth in the crib. It was as if a baby had once lain here, but its whereabouts were now unknown.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! What a way to end the volume. butwhy

I honestly expected that this would be an another "transmigration" story, so I was quite surprised that it wasn't. Well, thinking logically, it would be repetitive if the MC is a "transmigrator", a lot of the mysteries have already been revealed and the MC would just be a Klein 2.0.

The story started off with a Tom Sawyer-like vibe. Heck, Lumian himself resembles Tom Sawyer so I grew quite fond of the characters. It's all peaceful like there's nothing bad that's going to happen. The only thing that makes the peacefulness eerie is that the story is inside of LotM's world and the author is Cuttlefish. So I know that things would eventually go down. And so it did. Everything went south during the Lent festival. Ava got beheaded, the Shepherd was a villain, the Padre had a connection with an evil god... Reimund died off-screen. Honestly, Reimund's death made me uneasy. I was laughing at the fool when he got thrown into the river, not knowing that was actually his last moments. Poor him. crybaby

And once Lumian somehow managed to go back in time and return by death, I know that Cuttlefish is at it again. It was even more apparent when Lumian saw Louis' actual condtion--pregnant. Gosh, what's with Cuttlefish's obsession to pregnancy being used as a tool for horror? butwhy butwhy

It's actually amazing how Cuttlefish's mind works. What the hell is even going on inside of that thing? To be able to think of such bizarre and dreadful things while still making it sound like logical. He even managed to implement the mystery element that made LotM great into this story--slowly uncovering the mysteries, and by the end of the volume everything would piece together and it would be a mind-boggling moment.

Well, anyways, great chapter. Had a blast reading it. Volume 2, here I go!
