        Being able to read chinese doesn't mean someone is chinese. I personally would think based on her name she is a chinese child who moved to america based on her name. It is common practice to change your first name to an english one after moving while keeping the chinese surname. 12

        Its an inside joke that got so popular, that Cuttlefish(the author) decided to change the mythical creature form of the Black Emperor pathway from a shadow to a Curly Haired Baboon. This Curly haired baboon joke originates from a Baboon that was a Seq 4-5 of the BE pathway. The term 'Curly haired baboon' is also by characters used to call someone stupid.
